Depends on the friend. Some of them yes, others of them...hell no |
Ilesha is not a village. It is a legit town. Wish I'd taken pictures when I went there.. |
It doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Cheaper for people to live at home for primary/secondary school. Heck, cheaper to live at home even for university, if possible... |
high school students don't need any autonomy lol. 14, 15, 16, 17 isn't too old to be living at home... yeah i don't see the point |
OK, so concrete criticisms, good. I have some questions of my own: 1. So I guess at some point you have to go to school far away? 2. How exactly does he plan on pulling this off? Buses or something? 3. What happens to the old school buildings? Will they just remain unused? 4. Where does the money come from for this change? Perhaps you can play devil's advocate a bit salaksmana, since you seem to understand the policy better...is there any potential advantage to balance against the disadvantages this? |
Am I lying? ![]() She has a nice rack...nobody will deny it |
Good schools, but terrible admission rates to college, terrible performance on JAMB/UTME etc? Is this not the same Bauchi were 17 students in the entire state passed some exam? ![]() |
This guy's book is pretty awesome: http://www.amazon.com/Data-Structures-Algorithms-Java-Edition/dp/0672324539 I highly recommend it for newbies |
Why is Rufai the only Northerner making noise about this, though? Even here on Nairaland. Do you ever hear nagoma, Jarus, haka_nai, etc ever talk about the poor leadership of their own governors? Why is the focus mostly on the failures of the FG (which are admittedly numerous) rather than the failures of the governors? |
Gini coefficients are used to measure income inequalities and in Lagos, a co-efficient of -26.2% indicates a decrease in income inequalities within Lagos State between 2003 and 2010 - something the governors should be proud of!Err, I think i get what he is trying to say. If so, impressive. |
So how is Bauchi continuing to secure loans? Who is loaning them money? And why? Or does the lender have some means of deducting his payments directly from the federation account...? Otherwise seems quite risky loaning to this state. |
interesting |
salakobaba: "We have restructured education such that we are changing from traditional primary to elementary to middle school then to high school. You enter elementary school at the age of six, and leave at the age of eight. Elementary school will be in your neighbourhood, either by your residence, or where the mother works- not too close and not too far. Middle school at the age of nine to the age of 14, that’s grade 4, 5, 6,7,8,9. Then you leave it to a world of your own where you want to assess, evaluate your autonomy and emphasize yourindependence, that’s the high school."Why is this good/bad? It actually sounds like it will probably have no impact, tbh |
What topic specifically |
Link to the actual policy? |
I don't think that there is anything wrong with it. |

Well, this is true for many multi-ethnic countries. Plus it isn't as if Nigeria has been an outstanding success... |
I look forward to the day Nigeria divides. It will happen very soon IJN. |
