angelo82: I don't think is magic..........If I have skye right now in my portfolio,I wouldn't sell right now even though all bad news going around.........I will still be sure it will touch 2.60 before I can exit which is not so much of a gamble....There are forces out there trying to take advantage of some loopholes to bring down skye bank right before that acquisition of one of the bridge banks.....Proshare is one of their tool that they are using....... Where were those forces when the stock continued yesterday's dumping to open around -3% today during pre-open? |

You might be right... but have you seen Q1 or do you know what it might look like, and the way the market will react
Can someone tell us what he/she thinks the true worth of Skye bank is? I have not seen Q1 but I think they may have a bright future with the acquisition of Mainstreet bank. However the effect of this acquisition may become visible from Q2'15. Recapitalization is another thing to worry about. |

zendi: No single offer for now. Wonders of the NSE. What is happening to Skyebank at the moment is clearly the handwork of the market makers. I don't see any other way to describe it. The 1 for 20 bonus is utterly absurd considering the poor FY2014 report. 2 Likes |

@oga mi myjoy08: I sincerely apologize for quoting you, since you had begged that no one should.
But I have dug up these posts (from pages 654,655 and 683) to make anyone who wishes to reflect on the essence of predictions, FORECASTS, suspicions, and INSIDER INFORMATION that we see on this thread almost daily.
I have always maintained that some things are best not spoken out in public, especially if you are not the first hand source (e.g the CEO or PA to some member of BOD). @megainvest you will recall I once said this. Did any bank declare the dividend yield you mentioned? Please educate me. It is posts (like these quoted above) that make it difficult for people to spot 'true' INSIDER INFORMATION such as the Vitafoam one, that was tagged as monkey hunting.
I had asked myjoy08 about the bank he was referring to in the quoted post above, I got no answer. He talked about UBA and Skye (those posts were in March 2015), we know where those stocks are today - dividend-wise and price action-wise.
Summary: Put together what you will from these posts and be careful of prophets - in real world and more so in a virtual forum when your money is involved.

dsunmade: Please, I have a question for the stockmarket gurus. Initially, during the course of a trading day, the share price can increase or decrease to a maximum of 5%. After some condition is met, it seems the price can then increase or decrease to a maximum of 10%. What are the conditions that must be met for the 10% maximum change to be activated? During pre-open session, a stock can gain/lose a maximum of 5%, and another 5% during normal trading session making a total of 10% maximum gain/loss on any trading day. So a stock must have gained/lost 5% during pre-open to be able to gain/lose 10% on a trading day. 2 Likes |

seye4nii: would like to know why those guy always insist that we should do fixed deposit same thing happen to me at first bank yesterday infarct the guy told me that the interest rate deference is not much but i insist that i have some Guru bosses on nairaland that said t bill is better than Fixed deposit maybe they get commission for changing peoples mind? When you invest in fixed deposit, your money remains in the bank and it is used for investment just like they do to customer's regular savings. Also, bank workers can use fixed deposit funds to meet up their targets. |

@Saibuhari Here is your post that triggered the monkey hunting alert ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) : saibuhari: Vitafoam result will be released very soon (I mean very soon) and brothers/sisters have next week to board the plane. The plane has been parked for sometime for passengers to board. Those who board now will be glad they did and will surely do thanksgiving. You will agree with me that the above post sounds just like some of the monkey hunting posts we receive here in NSEMPA. Any stock pick that is not backed by some form of analysis- be it fundamental, technical, or insider/privilege information- may be referred to as Monkey Hunting. Some persons here had previously blamed, and even laid curses on others who gave predictions and stock picks that didn't get actualised. Some also blamed their failure on the fact that the persons who gave the recommendations failed to include a caveat. Next time if you have a reliable information and sincerely want BnSiTL to benefit from it, make it clear and straightforward so it doesn't sound like monkey hunting. For example, Stock ABC is coming out with a dividend of X and bonus of Y... Source: my relative is an employee, I have privilege info, etc. It is a usual practise in NSEMPA to state the source of your recommendation when you give one. You don't have to wait for someone to ask before you state the source. I hope you understand my point and that my post doesn't upset you. 5 Likes |

Try and check their quarterly results b4 making this conclusion samguru:
the expected result is predicated on d boost d recent acquisition and consolidation of there operations. so don't get it twisted I think the potential impact of the acquisition on the bottom line will become more evident as from first or second quater of 2015. So the acquisition may not boost their trailing quarter reports for 2014, IMO. 1 Like |
