Odunharry:I did not start this argument. Go back to where it started from. As far as I know, Rooney is coming up well now and I hope he stays injury free because everyone will start enjoying Rooney from December. I gave an instance of 2010/2011 season when he was poor till December but SAF decided to bring him up with games. According to SAF you need to keep playing Rooney to get him back to fitness. And Gaal is not a kid. The problem is the too many kids in football these days. |
Before the Everton game, Gaal said despite the media criticism, Rooney was still the most important player in the team. If you don't agree, go and hit your head against the wall. Ntor! ![]() |
Odunharry:And you all are kindergarten akara pupils for not understanding real football. You think it's computer game . |
I told my friends that Arsenal will qualify from this group. |
Rooney has sacrificed for Smith, Saha and Tevez. Not that these guys were better scorers but the team needed to be set up that way to accommodate others who were less mobile and versatile. |
Danhumprey:What is bullshit? Rooney is our most important players and it remains so. Gaal knows that and he knows he has to get him to good form to help us. Point out anything I said that is not true. |
AdeLaNa1:It may not be out of place if you think Gaal is also 10 years old. You are brainwashed and you have lost any ability to objectively analyzed football. All you do is curse Rooney. Even when he plays well you can't even see anymore. |
1. Someone said Martial is playing from the wing. Did Rooney not play on the wing when he first arrived Manchester? He was sent to the wing to accommodate Smith and others in the middle. He sacrificed for the older players and he deserves whatever he gets now. 2. Mata has played in the middle twice this season. And both cases he has not done well. Against PSV away he was also in the middle. |
Danhumprey:Yes, because you kids don't know football. |
Danhumprey:Rooney started playing well and it was just a matter of time. Only Messi and Ronaldo can guarantee 100% year in year out. Every other player will have a low sometimes. Aguero was poor in 2012/13 season. There are many players like that. But a good coach learns to bring his best player back to form to help in important games when it matters most. |
Rooney played in the number 10 position in the last two or three games. They said he was being played there ahead of Mata even though Mata never played there when Rooney was in the number 9. Mata hot his chance in the middle against Watford and he was the worst player on the field. |
nyabinghi:Rooney has played well in the last games for us since our match vs CSKA Moscow. He also played very well for England. There are some things he attempted in the England vs France game, the last time he did something like that was 2008. I am not here to argue about Wayne Rooney, it's unnecessary. |
There was no Jones, Carrick, Valencia, Herrera or Schweinsteiger at United's training session this morning. Rooney, Wilson Fellaini and Martial did train. |
Dadehmola:U be Ekwe Sample. A DM should not be too soft. That's why we bought Schneiderlin, for instance. |
SIRcumalot:Where is Pepe? |
SIRcumalot:I remember Khedeira too. They didn't bother to replace Khedeira and Alonso. All they want is fancy. It's on their head. |
chrisley024:Kane has 8 EPL goals and he didn't start scoring early. He's 3rd on the scorer chart. If he gets 20 this season he tried. At least Spurs enjoyed him for two seasons. I think only injury can prevent him from reaching 20 goals. |
weedtaker:Abeg Jones should be back against Leicester, West Ham and Bournemouth. Stoke is still far away. We are very comfortable and most confident at the back when we have Smalling and Jones there. Some players sef don't learn lesson. Jones tried to play on with injury for about 10-15 minutes. That can aggravate the problem. |
SIRcumalot:Ancelloti is partly responsible for Madrid collapse. He sold Alonso, sold Di Maria and bought players who could only play accurate passes without applying much energy to their games . Alonso, Modric and Maria midfield was not really physical but they managed to sit back to close the gaps and once the ball in won, Di Maria carries it forward with great speed running between players or exploiting wide gaps left in the middle as Ronaldo and Bale take the defenders away. This time the midfielders are too soft. Modric doesn't have someone behind him to act as a brick wall. So his ability to express himself is limited. Counter attacks are less effective since no one can do long balls out of defensive area or a midfielder who can carry the ball forward. Madrid defence has always looked poorly organized since last season. By the way where is Pepe? |
weedtaker:True on Sherigham. I wonder why SAF did not even bring Alan Shearer to Old Trafford. Alan Shearer single handedly made middle table teams to be league contenders/winners. If he had played in a club like United he could have helped in Europe big nights. |
AdeLaNa1:You said they don't need to spend more than 100 which means they can spend 100 m every summer. |
AdeLaNa1:Olodo. It's success considering where they were. Without the money they would remain little. If United had been upgrading every season like City, we should have been at same level with Barca, Madrid and Bayern. For us to overtake City completely in EPL we need to keep upgrading. Then before you know it, we get to they level of the top three in Europe. Should I give you the transfer policy of Madrid and Barca you would see they did almost same thing as Man City in the last 10-15 years or so. Barca - Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Mascherano, Sanchez, Pedro, Toure, Eto, Neymar, Valdez, Fabregas, Song, etc. They are always doing trial-and-error and upgrading thereof. Madrid is even worse. |
AdeLaNa1:And now you said Barca should spend 100 million every summer. You have forgotten I also used Barca as an example. That they allowed Sanchez to go. To upgrade your team you must spend. No question about that. The Era of getting Giggs and Scholes from acadamy is gone. If SAF acted fast to sign Ronaldinho we would have won plenty UCL trophies. He was fast with Cole, Yorke, Nistelrooy etc. But he didn't go for the big big guys. When we spend and we start dominating and winning 80% of our matches, you will see players will come by themselves. Who wants to come do suffer head? |
AdeLaNa1: Barca should spend 100 million EVERY SUMMER. And you said we should not spend like the rest to upgrade our team to the highest standard. Is it Lingard and Perrieira that will take you to the level of Bayern and Barca? Are you a friend or a foe? |
AdeLaNa1:Show me where I said this if you cannot, you remain the greatest daft I suppose you are. |
AdeLaNa1:You have the intelligence of a Akara school pupil. Your first two paragraphs confirms you know nothing because you contradicted yourself. This is exactly the way I see you since I noticed you here. You agreed that without money City wouldn't come near qualifying for Europa cup, not to talk of finishing top four to play UCL. Not to talk of smelling an EPL title. Now they have two EPL titles, winning other local cups by the sides. You also said PSG became dominant in France after they were taken over in 2012. Before 2012 you would go for Thanksgiving if PSG were your opponent in UCL. Now they can knock out a strong opposition with 10 men. Take a bow. |
AdeLaNa1:This doesn't make sense to me. Your argument was that a team well built shouldn't be beaten and not one grew with money. I gave you instances and you changed your argument. Anyway, we get heavy results here and there. Madrid lost 5-0 to Barca. Bayern beat Barca I think 7-0 home and away. Madrid beat. Madrid beat Bayern 4-0. The same Madrid Nani was going to destroy before the red card. AdeLaNa1:Yes. But spending is now the major answer. Neymar, Bale, Ronaldo, Modric, Suarez, Ibrahimovic, etc were not bought with peanuts. |
Finally, in a nutshell. City brought in 35 'big' players in four years leading to their first EPL title win. Many players didn't fit. Only the following players fit in to help take them to glory and established a new Man City. 2008/9.. 11 new players bought only Kompany and Zabeleta survived. 2009/2010.. 11 more new players brought in. Only Lescott, Tevez and Barry survived. 2010/2011.. 8 new players. Balotelli, Milner, Dzeko, Kolarov, Silva survived. 2011/2012.. 7 new players. Only Nasri and Aguero survived into the first eleven of the Champions team. |
Man City most prominent players 2007/2008 before they were taken over. Joe Hart , Vedran Ćorluka, Micah Richards, Richard Dunne, Michael Ball, Javier Garrido, Stephen Ireland, Gelson, Dietmar Hamann, Martin Petrov, Elano , Darius Vassell, Onuohah, Geovanni, Sun Below are the players they brought in over a period of four seasons before the could win the league. Their trial and error paid off. Meanwhile season after season I prayed we signed Aguero. I have been a fan of his since 2007 when shone like a million stars in the U-20 world cup.

Before we forget so soon how Man City became a giant and a feared team. The team was taken over by the rich owner in summer 2008. 2003/4 they finished 15th with 49 points. 2004/5 they finished 8th with 52 points. 2005/6 they finished 15th with 43 points 2006/7 they finished 14th with 42 points. 2007/8 they finished 9th with 55 points. ........... After take over: 2008/2009. 10th 50 points 2009/2010. 5th 67 points 2010/2011. 3rd 71 points. 2011/2012. 1st 89 points. 2012/2013. 2nd 78 points. 2013/2014. 1st 86 points. 2014/2015. 2nd 79 points. AdeLaNa1, is this what you call a temporal success? E don tey I know say you no know ball. |
Dadehmola:1996/1997 season Date October 20th 1996 Newcastle 5 Manchester United 0 That's a well built team by SAF. Built over the years. Within 33 minutes we were 3-0 down. This was the same solid United team that beat Ipswich town 9-0 in a league game in March 2004. United lost the first leg at Ipswich earlier in the season. Football can be crazy. City losing 1-4 is no news. Without their spendings and policies they wouldn't be any different from West Ham. Middle table team.
|
AdeLaNa1:Which club doesn't get beaten 4-1? Where were you when Fernando Torres and Gerald beat us 4-1 in 2008? City beat us 6-1. We could go back to late 1990s. If City didn't have this blue print they would be a middle table team. If SAF had a similar plan he would have won 5 UCL trophies. |
