davidylan:Don't Pastor Chris me homie . . . that part you quoted all qualified the will, not wills of God in different aspects. You say it like 'good, acceptable and perfect' are a comparative adjectives . . . hell the eff no. It's not 'good, better, best'. All of them in that verse are inseparable . . . and they are all there for emphasis. That verse does not count. As I said, divorce is not the will of God . . . Moses allowed it and by so doing, people went against God's will, which we are not to do as Christians. He answered them, "What did MOSES command you?" They said, "MOSES allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to put her away." But Jesus said to them, "For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment." Mark 10:5 RSV It is disobedience, God told us his will in Mal 2:16. That said, we go to the case of forgiveness . . . if you agree that forgiveness is one major modification that Jesus made to the Mosaic laws (Matt 18:21), then you'll have to agree that it is impossible to be a Christian without forgiving your wife, even for the sin of adultery. So if the forgiveness contract is what we sign everyday in our contract as Christians in the Lord's Prayer, how can you come out and say you're a Christian if you've not forgiven your cheating spouse?? davidylan:Oh . . . Luke doesn't record anything about adultery either, even when Jesus was talking about divorce. You will do much better if you didn't read your own interpretations into the scriptures. |
follypimpi:Abi . . . help me tell that to Jackal. ![]() I'm gud man . . .How are the B-town chics treating you?? |
The fuckin irony. . . . . You are leading a chic on just to get her in bed so you can MAKE LOVE to her and you are not loving her as yourself. How do you make love to someone without loving? ![]() Eldee, that was the wrongest example you coulda pulled up. Try again. ![]() U don enter ma wahala today.
Hehehe . . . but when I leave her after enjoying the making love even though I know she'll be heartbroken, that's not loving my neighbour as myself. ![]() |
Not as much as HE detests DIVORCE. . . . . This is why LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF surpasses the whole 10 commandments as a whole. If you love your partner like yourself, you won't go for divorce. . . . .If you love her, you are expected to forgive her 77 X 77 times.
Thing is, when I commit other sins, I'm not showing love to my neighbour. E.g when I lead a chic on just to get in her bed, I'm not loving my neighbour as myself. I don't see why I should be selective with what section I obey in the Bible. chiogo:I was the one that first went against the application of Religion to this argument so I assumed that you were referring to me. Besides we're not contesting the wrongness or otherwise of infidelity, the discussion has shifted to divorce. |
God detests divorce. . . . . All divorcees would be pitching their tents with Satan himself.
I know that man . . . but God also detest my fornication, greed, drinking and many other things. I'm not exactly the poster-boy for Christianity, forget my good looks. ![]() |
chiogo:Forgiveness is not a choice. Why am I using the Bible?? I'm not. I actually do support divorce in these cases (refer to my first post) . . . but when you use the Bible to support your already biased view, it makes a mockery of Christianity. |
@The Amaka & Mamagee You guys are next level hilarious. ![]() |
Rheinmetal:You don't know Stillwater . . . She can trivialise anything, today is one of her better days ![]() |
stillwater:1. Mark 10: 2-12. 2. Moses was not given the will . . . the will of God is clear 'I hate divorce' . . . read you Bible. stillwater:Moi?? The Bible says that is the one sin that cannot be forgiven. You don't get to disobey the law because you want to. In order words, the only person that has the right not to forgive is the Holy Spirit, not Stillwater. You still have to obey the 77 X 7 rule, God is no respecter of persons or emotions. stillwater:I'm not ignoring a part of the Bible, I said that there were conflicts. I said earlier that we shouldn't use the Bible because there are minor conflicts. You were the Reverend that was acting like you had a degree in Theology. |
stillwater:Hehehe . . . I gave you a place to read Mark 10 where Jesus forbade divorce on every count and you've been ignoring that with you wikianswers quotes. Mark 10 . . . 'And He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her' . . . no mention of unfaithfulness or anything. That's the clearest Jesus ever was on divorce. So before you go on you feminist crusades, leave the Bible out of it. |
Rheinmetal:Recommend?? More like 'enforces'. Some people here have finished counting the 539 allowances they are commanded to give their spouses and yet want to use the Bible as their constitution. stillwater:False statement?? Your wikipedia argument is a joke. And yeah, use human reasoning and I will agree with you, but Bible?? Nah. |
Rheinmetal:This is exactly what I've been trying to say all along . . . people just pick a stand on sumn and then use the Bible to support it. This is no different from when people used the Bible to support ethnic cleansing. |
stillwater:Echoing what I said does not change anything. The Bible is not conclusive on divorce as it is with say murder or sumn. If you're going to use The Bible to support divorce, then it should be noted that you're ignoring God's will . . . which is a compass for Christians. And you cannot call yourself a Christian if you blatantly go against the will of Him in whose name you cast demons. And then comes the question of forgiveness, here, you make it sound like forgiveness is a choice 'there's still allowance for forgivness but you are given the room to divorce.' Forgiveness is a rule, it's not a guideline, 77 X 7 as Jesus symbolically put it. . . you don't choose if you want to forgive or not . . . you always forgive, period. Besides you have totally ignored the part where Jesus rejected divorce on all grounds. . . . Mark 10. Go meet your gotquestions.org people and ask them if their Bible is different from the one on my shelf. |
stillwater:That's why I pointed to Mark 10 where there was no valid reason for divorce. If God hates divorce and likes forgiveness, shouldn't the benefit of doubt go to Mal 2:16 and Mark 10?? Is divorcing your husband for adultery the Christian thing to do?? I think not, based on those two I've listed. You see how bringing the Bible into this just clouds things?? |
@poster So far you've done what's best for the relationship . . . the next step you should take is to give her a cooling-off period. And then sit down with her and explain to her what football means to you and how much of a compromise you're willing to offer (e.g not watching EPL matches week-in week-out leaving it for the Top six) If she's not willing to compromise, then you guys should end it, because it will definitely cause problems later. And you know they don't forget things, it will definitely come up later. |
davidylan:How can you say 'explicitly' and 'allowed' in one breath?? Isn't that conflicting?? The same Bible goes recorded Jesus rejecting divorce in Mark 10 without any reference to adultery. That's why I don't want to bring in the Bible in cases that should be settled using basic human reasoning. |
There is a part 2 and 3 of this video, the crowd has been expecting Mi in new york since. good shot thrown at kelly handsome and iceberg slim, he made iceberg look like a baby rapper kelly handsome is his biggest problem for now although , iceberg thin cant come at MI as direct as k-handsome would
Kelly Handsome is kinda daft and loudmouthed . . . Iceberg Slim is actually smart and watches his words. He's dropped nice one-liners that will knock out anyone, and he knows where he stands. Iceberg Slim is M.I's real problem. |
BET Awards nominee, M.I Abaga, was the star of the show over the July 4th Independence weekend at the Nigerian Reunion held in New York City. As stated earlier, this was one of several high-profile performances by Nigerian music heavyweights across the US. For those of you who couldn’t make it, enjoy the clips below. Shout-out to House of Naija for hooking this up! M.I responds to Iceberg Slim’s “Am I Better” line: “Is he better than me, is he? I don’t know, is he? stillwater:Nah . . . the Bible is still in a conflict on that. Read Mark 10:2-12 Jesus went point-blank and made no mention of adultery. Besides, that's where the 'turn the other cheek' rule comes it . . . forgive 77 x 7 times rule. You see why I suggested that religion be excluded from the discussion, because there's no use bringing in The Bible if you're going to be selective with it. |
Theblessed:First of all I think bringing religion into this is unreasonable. . . but if you're going to bring in christianity, isn't divorce one thing Jesus forbade?? Isn't 'turn the other cheek' the main amendment to the Jesus made to the laws of Moses?? I'm not surprised though, Jesus said to beware of false prophets . . . ![]()
nah. a thief is not remorseful. he keeps stealing until he gets caught. same with cheating. it's all a sign of weakness of d flesh. means your not self disciplined enough. and i love that theblessed brings a religious perspective to it.
That analogy is B.S . . . excuse my French. It's funny how you call it weakness when the people that actually show any remorse is the person that's cheated on. Cheating is only weakness if the cheat doesn't make a choice to do it. You can't just label things just because it affects you in a particular way. I might as well say paying taxes is illegal. |
You're a good judge of character, I reckon . . . so do you think I'm a 'hit on 10 chics in one hour' guy?? |
I'm different . . . how many chics have you seen me hit on?? come on . . .I thought you could vouch for me ![]() |
i see. so have u had any success with hitting on a girl? i've always wondered by blk guys are always hitting on girls sef. plz explain to us
Hehehe . . . I cannot fit to shout. My success rate is between me, myself and my designated wingmen. ![]() Most black guys use the trial and error style, hit on 10, one will work. But I think efficiency is a much more desirable trait. Especially if yo live in a small town like moi. You don't to go round the sample in one night. |
haha such a playa what do u mean by "last ditch attempt by weak guys"
I'm not a player, that's standard procedure. ![]() Bout the last ditch thingy . . . guys without game always hit on the ugly girls with the false belief that they are easier. But nah, not-so-goodlooking chics have to protect their reputation in front of their friends, so they front. |

@Obinna I'd already seen the British Death At the Funeral, they repeated all the jokes so I didn't actually like it. Besides, comedy at cinemas?? No go area. People laugh like they downed N2O |

See it like this, who gets the attention when I hit on a group of girls?? I make eye contact with one of em, so when I talk to the group, she already knows what I'm there for. Ugly girls are usually last-ditch attempts by weak guys. |
dayokanu:Hehe . . . I'm way too picky for that . . .lol I just want to experience the All-American chic that actually lives in America. ![]() |
Isn't that what I said before?? They are serial cockblocks . . . they hate men for not hitting on em and they block you from their friends. That's why I always have a wingman ready to act like he's interestd in the ugly chic . . . On a scale of 1 to 100 this chis is -15. ![]() She is everything I don't want in a woman and much more. |
@Oyinda Here's the typical ugly Nigerian chic . . . It's not a coincidence, they are daft and usually have a bad personality from years of taking insults. ![]() [flash=450,400] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODrfGa6q7WU&hl=en_US&fs=1[/flash] |

This bible argument was based on some false statement someone made. What is the problem? If you are not a Christian please just mind your own business. I am talking to someone who I prefume is a christian. Besides that I have every right to justify divorce by reasoning as well as the bible.
