Am thinking of applying 4 anoda msc in us in env. Eng or go in 4 a phd? Kindly advice PhD bro!!!! Except you have your personal reasons for an MSc. Just remember PhD funding is more. You would still take MSc courses so no need to apply for. MSC again. Plus the funding benefits. Of PhD is more!! Start practicing for GRE and read the whole part 10 all the treasures you need to succeed are hidden there. Choose schools based on your GRE score. 320 should be your Target...that's the only hurdle you have now. Great profile by the way. Try and publish too it helps BIGTIME!!!!!! Even if its a free journal go back to your undergraduate work and generate atleasbtwo papers and publish it. Even if its a mushroom journal. All join. It would show your research potential. Also even if you have not published your MSc work, you could add it to you CV as "in progress" TOEFL is piece of cake but don't take it for granted... You need like 26 on speaking section to be safe. And at least 90 overall. Best of luck. |

OluDare01: I just wanna chip in this. Folks, if you have multiple admissions with funding, please try and differ your other admission. Something happened here at tech, the school lost 70% of her funding and it's been a hard time for grad students here. In situations like this, some folks have left for other schools ,some dropped out of school while others are still struggling to get funding.Funding is contingent upon availability. So please, don't throw away all your eggs. Things like this don't happen often but we never can tell what would happen. OmO You saved me with this info months back!! Thanks a million!! We shall share our testimonies here. Amen........ #TEAMFALL2017 No be small Patience Syrup i dey drink now.... |

camnewton: Hello there, i am Cameroonian and i am new here. i have applied for an admin review last month coz my application was refused because they said im not a genuine student .i have received an email two weeks ago saying:
".....Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible. .... We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection."
Now yesterday i have received this email: "Good Afternoon. Further to your overseas application for a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) we have been advised that you have not entered the United Kingdom. (UK). Your 30 day vignette visa has now expired and as you have failed to collect your BRP, it has now been cancelled. If you wish to travel to the UK, you will need to make a new application for ‘Leave to Enter the UK’. For further information please consult the guidance on our website at https://www.gov.uk/visas-immigration."
what does that mean? has anyone here received this kind of email before? thanks in advance https://www.nairaland.com/2655931/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/196 |

Hisvoice: Thanks Lagosismyhome. I understand your point, but I believe you learn new things each time you fail. My GRE story is not a good one to tell cos of the financial and mental implication. It's the first exam I have ever written twice. Nevertheless, I will not allow a 'GRE challenge' hinder my bigger dream ahead. I will take to your advice since you can't do the same thing over and over, expecting different result. Thanks again. His voice I have some GRE videos I can give you that would help plus materials. On a flash. PM me. With this GRE scholarship you can't afford to dull yourself. |

For the record guys, the sensor shown in the picture is a proximity sensor. It most likely an infrared sensor. Same thing used for the hand dryer too and in those metal detector doors in banks in Nigeria. For street light we also have LDR: light dependent resistors, that's why street light go off in the day and come on at night. You also have cameras that act as proximity detectors too. Mostly used in he US for crime monitoring, robotics etc. Behind the tile/walls there is a small circuit that provides the power and circuitry to control the sensors. If you really want to be nutty, use a darktape to cover that sensor and the toilet urinary won't flush.... plese try it! Pls remember to remove the tape; this is for learning purposes only ciao.

noblealuu: @all,
Please can someone who studied B.Ed in Education and English Language in a Nigerian institution get tuition waver and other benefits upon acing GRE or the opportunities are only limited to STEM.
The persons CGPA is 3.89 over 5 and intends going for Master degree in any country where scholarship opportunities could be easily assessed, preferably US.
Please house pieces of advice needed. @#lagosismyhome and other gurus biko, your inputs are highly welcomed. Oblige the inquiries am making on behalf of a sister. Also work on the funding policy of schools. Some are quite different. Some are offered by the graduate school, dept or Prof. So just in case there might be no research offer by the prof, the dept might have slots for outstanding students etc. I know there are administrative a GAs, TAs, grades etc. And try to seek schools that are not so competitive and if possible large campuses too. My 2cents. God help us all |

femi321: Lmao..1) Do you really want to study or you want an escape route from Nigeria? 2) If you want to study, you wont just want anyhow school, Yes there are schools that will accept you without any exam but such schools wont do you any good when you graduate. Even people that attended ranked schools still sweat before they get a job. You might want to sit down and really think about this. If you ask me,with your low cgpa you should be eager to do any available exams to improve your profile. If you are adamant, you can check www.msinus.com. you will see low cgpa schools. Take it or leave it, you need to do standard tests or else the system will take from you and wont give you anything in return. People that get paid stipend every month dont have 2 heads even if you have the money to finance your education..there is no crime in saving for raining days. so my brother/sister go and prepare for standardized test. TOEFL is even a piece of cake No mind the guy Like say Yankee Visa na drivers License Application. He should have asked for A Frank Dunga Visa application simulation test too. |
