In my case, I got my trv very early, and I decided to apply for then immediately so that, in case the processing took long, I won't feel it that much.
For example, many people applied June last year and got approved December.
However, in my SOP, because I knew I was going to apply immediately, I did not state that I won't go with them. I was careful with my choice of words.
I just stated that I am married and have a daughter and that I am not applying with my family for now.
Be diplomatic. You don't have to state that you're not going with them. Just say you'rr not applying with them for now (which is true). Simple. Your marital status already implies a solid hometie.
Anyway, I don't think they dig up your Sop when they review your family's application. But, just to be safe and true...

I need clarification. I noticed that your family applied immediately you got your Study Permit. When filling your Family Information form IMM5645, what did you tick for the question that asked if your family would accompany you to Canada? Although you were silent about it in your SOP, this form would actually ask for a yes or no response.

If you have good finances then you can apply if not I'll suggest you come in first and after your first semester you can apply for your spouse via open work permit and get the required funds necessary

I will advise you apply alone, and use the members of ur family as part of home tie.. Then when u get ur visa and u are already in Canada, U can now apply for spousal permit to bring ur Wife/Husband/children over.. Ma 2 cents.. Peace

I have gotten admission. I want to apply for study permit and I want my family to accompany and stay with me in Canada. How do I go about this?

The moniker( Truthwillout) that claims to be strungup79’s wife said they have been married for 10 years while Strungup79 himself says they are married for 13years...something fishy about that. I know women are good with wedding anniversary and all that. The last statement of Truthwillout “I wish you the best” is also fishy. It is very impersonal. Can a wife write that to her husband? Conclusion: Truthwillout is not Strungup79’s wife. She is someone else’s wife.

I just hope that in this plethora of advise from faceless monikers, Strungup79 will find the one that can work in his home.
