She went to court because she got suspended. The court told her to apologize so she will get reinstated, she choosed to appeal the judgement instead of apologizing. I agree with the Akpabio led senate.

That is very flawed . First, let’s get the facts straight: Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension was imposed by the Senate, not a court of law, and that suspension has already lapsed. There is no legal basis for her continued exclusion from the chamber. Period.

Now, to this your your "she was asked to apologize" claim, apologies don’t override constitutional rights or due process. This isn’t a monarchy where personal pride trumps law; it's a democracy. You don’t silence an elected senator and by extension, her constituents over ego.

If Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan made accusations against Akpabio, the proper path is due legal process, not political punishment disguised as procedure. And let’s not pretend the justice system moves swiftly or without influence especially when high-ranking politicians are involved.

Finally, let’s not ignore the bigger issue. Just as it was highlighted by the ADC National publicity secretary, Mallam Bolaji, only 4 women out of 109 senators, and one is being politically sidelined for refusing to bow to power. The court clearly demanded Senator Natasha to apologize to tender an apology and pay a fine of five million to purge herself of contempt of court.

The senate requested Senator Natasha to apologize to Akpabio for the disputed issue. Now the suspension has expired and some people are wrongly claiming that the court ordered Senator Natasha to apologize to Akpabio.

We are truly grateful experiencing a junta leadership in the Senate for the first time. I wonder how Akpabio and others continue in a democracy to represent their own constituents, while obstructing the citizens of Kogi central from benefitting from the same. The Senate is presently witnessing excessive use of leadership power by Akpabio and his supporters in the Senate and it must stop.

Without delay, the distinguished Senator must be allowed to return her seat. Even if there’s a political manouvre to have her removed from Kogi central and replace with an APC member, the least that must be done is to allow her complete her tenure, and allow citizens of Kogi central to determine their next Senator.

I think PDP as a party and the opposition generally should add their voices at this time to this excessive use of power by the Senate president and his group. Also, a review of the powers of the senate to suspend senators for such duration must be carried out.

With the different organizations scattered all across the country, can we not safely say that states already have state police? Anambra state armed OCHA with guns. There’s Agunechemba and there aka odo, all of them fully armed. In Lagos, there’s LNSC, there’s the hunter’s group, vigilante groups, etc, all somehow armed. They all perform the same jobs nationwide, with operatives regularly killing innocent citizens. Soludo does not seem to have control over these groups, that are made up of touts too.

Neither will giving them money and pacifying them. It's good for propaganda and media ops but it's a temporary solution akin to putting bandage over a bullet wound. Matawalle tried it in Zamfara and they simply moved on to other neighbouring states that didn't negotiate with them. While they talk of state police, one would ask where the recruits would come from. If they cannot get their citizens to either join the military or police, how do they intend to go about it? No one is trying to take her guaranteed constitutional rights away from her. But remember she earned herself another punishment which made the court to order her to tender apologies in two national dailies! That is completely outside her unruly behavior in the Senate that earned her the suspension.

So they're two different cases. When she finishes the Senate punishment, she will carry out the public apologies, failure of which the Senate might refuse to allow her resume her legislative duties, and the court, which she could have gone to seek redress has given her a task she refused to do.

I wish her the best tho but I'm sure she'll not be willing to apologize.

What if there was gross negligence on the part of the airline? What if he declared the value of his luggage and paid additional charges to the airline? What if he prove recklessness on the part of the airline? The court could award judgment in his favour based on actual value of lost items and include depreciation in the final calculation.

Per the Montreal convention, he should not receive that amount. But judges can look at the merit of his claim, if well proven and award him such amount in damages. In this case, he proved damages against the airline, I presume.
