Love800:The embassies issue the visas to their respective countries. All you have to do, is to get the needed documentation, apply and if successful, you are issued the visa. The airlines issue tickets to the destined countries. Travel agents simply act as bridges between intending travellers, embassies and airlines. They charge fees for their services. Sadly, there are too many fake travel agents out there, who fleece people of their money. To avoid such loss, everyone is advised to approach the airlines and embassies directly. |
esnbrutality:So you have not been reading since morning? BAT met the body on arrival in Katsina there. The body was flown from London to that place directly. BAT and the Governor were on hand as required to meet the body there. On completion of the process of burial, BAT and the FG delegation will fly back this evening to Abuja. |
There are too many travel agents and agencies in every part of the country. You can successfully run a travel agency from the remotest parts of the country, as long as you are accredited and properly organized. Your laptop serves as your office and you can employ staff. Physical offices have largely been eroded over the years, especially with the internet age. You can get trained and start off your own agency. Get to all airports, embassies, high commissions, etc, and you will find men and women working with their laptops and offering visas and air tickets. The problem has to do with integrity. A lot of those involved are fake and they are all over the country. Lagos and Abuja are hotbeds because of the presence of embassies and airline offices there. No part of Lagos is therefore to be singled out please. You fall victim when you try to avoid visiting the embassies directly for your visas. That’s why also on arrival at your country of destination, you may be denied entry when you cannot answer basic questions. The problem being that your visa application was not filled by you personally. As for me, I attend visa interviews and purchase my air tickets directly at the airlines. By the way, it is much cheaper. |
Now let’s see if the new law will be implemented against this man. If it is not, then we can term it worthless. |
IslamVIRGINS:Don’t mind the attention seeking lazy youths. That newspaper’s owner is known. They want to show their eye service too. |
TimeManager:Comments, even though distasteful about Buhari have shown us the level with APC. Why not take our time to give some thoughts on Tinubu’s failed promises since 2014? Are you not tired, in the least, of Tinubu’s endless enforcement of hardship on the citizens of the nation? Why not remove the moth of many years of APC’s misery and poverty from your eyes, before venturing to look at the integrity filled eyes of Peter Obi? |
Revolva:I laugh so tay I nearly fall down. “Surulere was wise to attach…”. Na Aguda people force Surulere name join their own. Na self help. Which one come be Surulere II? |
Skydivine:It was a simple error. I was tryin to differentiate the two. |
Where did he get the powers from? I thought that he was only appointed to oversee this period of challenge in the state? Why exceed his mandate? What his business with appointing LG administrators? Is it not that he is trying to fix Wike and BAT’s men in place? |
Olatara:We no righteous. We tell you as e dey be. No vex you hear? |
cyberbro:Surulere LCDA stands on its own, receiving its own allocation, just as Coker-Aguda local government does. They all have their chairmen and councillors. How do you want to put them as asunder? Going by the name Coker-Aguda, how does Aguda find itself in Surulere, if not within the geographical boundaries of its LCDA? There is no conflicting information anywhere. I lived in Aguda, Lawanson and Masha. I attended primary school first in Anjorin street, Lawanson and then Oduduwa street, Ikate. I know Surulere in and out. I know Aguda in and out and I know the boundaries. |
Olatara:Why you no kuku face the she we invite you? You graduate from she invite me to I see him there. |
seborrhic:Thank you my bro. I follow for Surulere pikin. Was, still and will always be beautiful. Everyone knew and still knows everyone. |
cyberbro:Aguda is under Coker-Aguda local government. Go and check. Aguda na attachment dem dey. |
Crucialgem:No. Aguda is under Coker Aguda local government. Go and check. No make mistake. |
Olatara:Na the brother you dey take do abracadabra follow your friend enter their house. Na him you carry for mind, no be the sister! I catch you. |
ceejay80s:Sorry bro, Aguda was never recognized as Surulere. Aguda was a new found area. In those days, Surulere was termed the areas covering Ojuelegba, Cole street, Barracks on the right, up to the national stadium, Alaka, Bode Thomas, Eric Moore, Shitta Bey, Masha, Ikate and Lawanson, Ramoni, just before the Ijesha intersection, when coming from Mushin. You see that Ogunlana drive as you are moving towards Animasaun, it stopped at the end, where we had Census. The whole of that end to Brown road, etc were Aguda. Again the boundary between Aguda and Ijesha ends at that Canal. The total front where Rita Lori hotel was situated was called Aguda. The right drive into Aguda from there was not called Surulere but Aguda. Some people started writing their addresses as Aguda, Surulere, just to give the sense of belonging. Orile bus stop was newly developing. OBJ constructed that road to Badagry. Breweries was called Iganmu. When you enter that breweries road from Costain, you moved yo the end, cross the road and turn left facing the Iganmu bridge, were and all Iganmu. Sari Iganmu was an afterthought when Orile was as fast developing and they are wanted also to have Iganmu as a name. The same went for people who then lived on Kirikiri road, who claimed Apapa, instead of Ajegunle. You can walk from Ramoni off Lawanson road to Kilo, connecting NEPA, Aguda and Ijesha in less than one hour, without knowing that you are simply rigmaroling. That’s the beauty of the area, with plenty of friends and family. I lived in Aguda and I lived just by the present day General hospital, Randle Avenue. With these few historical facts, I hope I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that Aguda is not Surulere. |
seborrhic:Sorry Fela did not make Ojuelegba popular, even though his song described the traffic and human confusion around Ojuelegba. That place was always there, with no bridge then. It was a popular place where buses from the North, South, East and West arrived. People knew where to pick up their friends and loved ones then. There were too many joints with cheap foods and Ashawo joints for bus drivers and everyone. There were night clubs and it was 24 hours busy. Marcopolo, and Lagos state transport buses stopped there. It was a dispersal center to other areas of Lagos, just like Yaba bus stop. Fela’s Kalakuta republic was on Agege Motor road, as it was called, backing the Ojuelegba army barracks then until OBJ ordered soldiers to destroy the place. He actually started in Alagomeji, Yaba and then to Shitta in Surulere, with Afrobeats, before relocating to the finally destroyed Kalakuta republic. He moved from there to Pepple street, Ikeja where we have computer village today and to Gbemisola street, as his residence. His song promoted Ojuelegba, but it was a very popular place before then. Femi and his siblings lived in Ikate on Oduduwa street with their mum then. The original headquarters of ashawo na Ajegunle and Amukoko. If you like to patronize you fit go there, no be Ojuelegba. I hope you and others enjoyed this piece by me. |
datola:Food has always been cheap in Surulere, right from the stone age. The areas with the cheapest food in Lagos is Surulere, Mushin, Ilasamaja, Lawanson and parts of Ijesha. At Ayilara, we used to buy rice, beans and dodo from 12 midnight until 5 am from one Benin woman. Very hot fresh and delicious. Na just waka and buy there. The same for Ojuelegba. That Ojuelegba would always remind us of Fela’s song. Everywhere traffic, enjoyment and people. Na 24 hours waka for Ojuelegba everyday. What about masquerades during Christmas. Calabar people dey give us masquerades then. Chai! You can buy your fish for cheap rates at Lawanson bus stop and Ojuelegba road. If you never lived in Surulere, you missed a lot. I grew in Salawu street, that’s close to Randle General hospital. It was actually a health center before it was upgraded. It was a beautiful experience, going from there to school then at municipal bus stop. Ikate then was too sweet also where we attended school. Very quiet neighborhood with bad roads then. There were no okadas and you’d walk for long after playing football and getting very dirty. Ah. Lagos sweet before until dem carry politics scatter everywhere. Na so be Ilasamaja. Amala everywhere very cheap. Also the regular akara, yam, dodo with fried shining nose fish. Na so we see am until Lagos Island carry us waka! |
Talk of Akwa Ibom state only please. No need to say Niger Delta. There’s no such thing as one voice. |
So sad. Two national figures in one day. Very unfortunate. May their families be consoled. |
TonyeBarcanista:Sorry, do not blame Atiku anymore. Do not blame Obi in any way. Blame the entire leadership of PDP, who since 2014, failed to put their house in order. Is it not a shame that childishness and greed cost PDP the clearest opportunity to regain the Presidency in 2023? Blame Wike, as much as or more than you blame Atiku and others. His greed stinks. What you do not know is that Okowa regained Delta for Sheriff, just the night before the election. His own foolishness, aiming the Vice President slot, removed his focus on finance. He rallied just the night before, begging civil servants and party agents who were very angry at him. That saved him, otherwise the state should have fallen to LP. It was the same LP supporters, who returned to rally for PDP. If anybody will labour in vain in 2027, it will not be any candidate or party supporting Obi. Go and do your research properly. PDP is nearly gone. |
Blackman7:What’s the difference between a street and a road? Can you explain please? |
BeautifulMind2:Yes, I understand. Are you aware that the reason for rotation is so that Senatorial zones the serving Governors can use the opportunity to develop their own Senatorial zones. It is an unwritten rule. However, while they develop their zones, they must make sure that other senatorial zones feel the impact of the leadership. My concern is the apparent neglect of Ogbaru. Take a look around and see for yourself. Travel from Uga to Ossamala and you’ll feel the pain. Please help us send the message to the Governor. The likes of Tony Nwoye, who is the Senator must also wake up. It is the raining season now. Crops will be washed away. Roads will be impassable. Going from Uga will be challenging because of flooding. After the rains, the roads are bad. Some government presence has to be felt. Thank you. |
Creamypie:You claim to come from Delta North, and yet you have failed to tame the tiger in your own backyard first. Deal with cultists and armed robbers in your area first. Can you compare the daily killings going on in Ogwashi uku, Asaba, Ubulu uku, Okpanam, Issele Uku, with the whole of the SE, which you will officially be part of in 2026? Cultists are killing in large numbers DAILY in Delta north and you are here in Nairaland making mouth. Na person like you dey enter bus from Lagos to reach you village, pinko go know bus stop. Even if dem manage show you road to your village, fear of witch no go let you sleep well. You have not dealt with the issues of witchcraft all over your communities, including cultism and you are here talking about IPOB. Only witchcraft fit let you eat or drink with your relative inside your village? Fear go even let you come outside to see how your village be? Itsekiri was never Yoruba my friend. Go and read your history books a little and stop following the stories of Reno Omokri. If you know that Ukwuani, Ika, etc are not Igbos, oya drop the Igbo names, culture and language completely. You no kuku know anything about either the Midwest, Bendel or Delta state. Go and read your history books a little, or better still ask historians. Tell me your village only in Delta North and I will give you your complete history of migration for free. |
2mch:Who says that Soludo was transparent with his comment? Or you have never heard of political comments before? Do you want to say that all the killings on the South west highways are by Yoruba speaking people? So those who killed Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s daughter have suddenly become Yoruba people? Or those who’s villages and farms are daily invaded cannot differentiate their languages from those spoken by invaders? A man who is well protected and who does not even know what happen in the farms, turn around to say the killers are 99.9% their own people. Such people do not have identities in their villages to enable their arrests? Tell us how he wants to achieve that Presidency before Obi. First he is of the same age with Peter Obi. The next election will retain power in the South. Thereafter it will be the turn of the north in 2031. It will become the turn of the south again in 2038, by which time both of them are close to or over 80. Right in the state as it stands, Peter Obi is far more popular the Soludo. His structure is in control of the state and National Assembly members. The APGA governor only has a handful of his party members in the state house of assembly. Obi is on the streets, in the markets, villages, town unions and everywhere. Only the mention of his name chased Obiano and his wife away from the market when they went to campaign for Obiano’s wife’s senatorial ambition. Obi is a national figure, with a serious federal presence. If Obi decides to run on the platform of the coalition, where is the hope of Soludo becoming the President? Please show us the path to a Soludo Presidency before Obi. |
BeautifulMind2:Sure, but all the previous Governors did the same in their Senatorial zones mostly, just like Soludo is facing his own Senatorial zone mostly. However, why is Anambra north appearing neglected somehow? For example, if the FG cannot fix the Uga - Atani - Ossamala road, why will the state not fix it and demand a refund? |
Tareq1105:So you now campaign for Soludo? Have you left APC to join APGA? Is it not the mark of a headless person or one who lacks “political antenna”? For your information, Anambra state house of assembly is controlled by Labour Party. The same Labour Party has more members of the National Assembly. Who begs who to be the governor with such record? Soludo or Obi. Only people who are not able to train properly would comment without checking records. Anambra state is home to three APC strong leaders: Chris Ngige, Andy Uba and Uche Ekwunife, not to talk of Arthur Eze. Those three including Soludo were crushed completely by Obi in the last elections. I advise you to face the politics of your state, that is if you have an idea what’s happening there, and do not bother on other states that you know nothing about. |
lost24:There is an ADC candidate. Maybe you are not able to read and understand, otherwise you’ll find that Obi has maintained that he’s a Labour Party member and by rule he will support his party. |
And this is the Arabambi faction of Labour Party o. The same Arabambi that wants Obi expelled. Arabambi will not be there to campaign o. While Arabambi accuses Obi of being tribalistic, his own Presidential candidate is his kinsman. Such a huge hypocrite. While Arabambi, Apapa and Abure form strongmen, they know that if Obi leaves, they all lose. This same George Moughalu is APC in flesh and blood o. He decamped from APC and he’s the surest way to take Anambra state to APC, if he wins. He’s using Obi’s image to campaign. Unfortunately he will be defeated by Soludo. |
Creamypie:I always laugh at your total ignorance. Even you are proudly very ignorant. Maybe you are not aware that certain Igbo speaking people of Imo state were cut into Rivers state when the states were divided, leaving people of the same language in two states. Now they have part of their people in Imo. They are all Igbos and never deny themselves. All assembly members, yet all House of Representatives of the Delta North are in agreement. You are talking about forged signature, whereas the Obi of Ubulu Unor led the delegates to Akwa Ibom. No be only police go investigate, na fire service sef. You have not dealt with the daily killings of people in their large numbers by cultists in Asaba, Ogwashi uku, Isele Uku, Okpanam, Agbor, Abraka, not to mention herdsmen, and you are there talking about IPOB. While you were there, herdsmen invaded Ubulu Uku and killed the Obi. You dey sleep? Wetin you kuku know sef. Na only to dey Nairaland dey claim Delta. Your village you no sabi. |
Creamypie:What about the ones who have overrun Ogwashi uku, Agbor, Sapele, Ughelli, Kwale and Asaba, making life difficult for everyone there. With all the efforts of the people of Kwale and Ogwashi uku, the same people have made citizens unable to sleep with their eyes closed. Or you want to pretend about it? Anyway, no mind abeg. By this time next year you will be part of the same SE. |
