100% Kperoogi forgot to include El Rufai days as the FCT minister. He was very ruthless and completely intolerant of the same downtrodden that he suddenly identifies with. |
Straight to the point. Very well captured. Very descriptive of Wike. |
Okpebholo1:Oga please update yourself. |
With all the hying and publicity, he came a distant third. I do not Think the he has that much political value to bring to APC or win the election. |
BondRiv:One man started out as a local government chairman. He moved on to become the chief of staff to a governor. He became a minister of state and then a full minister. He moved on to become a two time governor and again the minister of the FCT. At the beginning he did not show to the people of Rivers state a factory that he owned, or a successful company anywhere. As a lawyer, he did not show the people of Rivers state his successful law firm. The same man openly was said to finance PDP. He openly said that he purchased the nomination forms for all the candidates in the 2023 elections. No one has bothered to ask the man his source of such stupendous wealth. Where did he amass such resources from, knowing that he was not born with a silver spoon. In rising to power, he challenged everyone on his way, ensuring that he crushed the easily crushable. He destroyed opponents houses. He challenged the police and gave the them sitting President hell. Now he does not want to be challenged. Having ensured that his candidates, including the governor won their elections, he was automatically expected to pocket the entire state, as according to him, he had built a “structure”. How can that happen, especially when there are other political forces in the state. Who is the despot here please? Wike. Who is the tyrant here please? Wike. Who has taken the joke too far please? Wike. If power drunk leaders are not challenged, how do you expect societies to look like? Tinubu with his acclaimed nationwide contacts, never boasted so freely and confidently, openly destroying those who defied him. What’s wrong with the Governor challenging him, even though he brought the governor in. As citizens, who are we supposed to hold accountable for the running of the affairs of the state? The governor or the minister? The governor of course. The minister certainly holds the entire state by the jugular. They say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Is that not what we are witnessing presently in Rivers state? We must not eulogize leaders who make us as citizens, appear like the proverbial chicken, attracted by a few pieces of corn and defeathered brutally by Josef Stalin. Putting people in positions of power should not permit you to hold the entire state or nation to random. It’s time to let the state move on. In all, the cowards in the state assembly, who could not as men maintain their well publicized defection to APC, should move on with the governor for the sake of the state, and pending the final determination of their defection issue before the court. |
Fantastic. |
“ Such character traits in the power politics of the Southwest are well documented by political historians. It happened in the First Republic. It was embraced in the Second Republic. It played out in the short lived Third Republic. In those three previous republics, power brokers in the North had forged alliances with overtly ambitious associates in the Southwest for the purposes of pulling down their powerful political leaders. As it was in 1963-1966, so it was in 1979-1983. Circa 1993 (June 12 annulment). It spilled over to the Fourth Republic, 1999 -2023 and still counting. The trend won’t stop with Tinubu. It will continue after him because politicians are a product of ambitions; moderate or inordinate. So the gentlemen who tested their strength with Tinubu for the APC’s 2023 presidential ticket, did not commit any crime”. The word “betrayal” has existed in the SW for uncountable years. But sadly, it is part of politics and has existed all over the nation for several years. No part of the country is spared of desperate political power brokers. They always form stupid alliances and the singular purpose is to continue the impoverishment of citizens. |
That fake activist is speedily booking his space in prison, with the level of defamatory statements against people. |
olaolaking:Oga, face your APC and relate with your grade at that level. What you know nothing about, keep away and learn. You know absolutely nothing. |
olaolaking:So while you are there eating beans and bread in your house, you now tell me about a state that I reside in? Why do some of you get so unnecessarily blindly argumentative like this? |
hisgrace090:That should be for Trump. He set it off, he has to live with it. Prices of goods are fast rising in the United States. The Asians, especially the Chinese and Indians are on the wings, watching and waiting. Surely the must be playing the kasongo ye ye song now. |
PricelessGem1:Do not make a mistake please. Ebira land has supporters across all political parties. These ones must be APC supporters who were defeated and feel very aggrieved. Expect them to add their voices against the Senator. Her own supporters love her and are more in number than these ones. |
olaolaking:Oga, next time what you have absolutely no idea about, simply listen or watch those who know about it discussing it and learn. |
benuejosh:Show us what your present governor in Benue does. Show us what others before him did. Makurdi, your state capital is a glorified local government headquarter. Rather than face it and your horrible leaders, you channel all your energies to Anambra state. When dem say make animal with horn show fail, snail sef go appear. Peter Obi could not build a classroom for years, yet here you are with nothing to show about your own self after all the years. Shame on you. |
Was it built by the state government or the local government? If it was built by the state government, the proper thing to do by those in charge is to bring the attention of the state government to its present state. More so, there are state and federal legislators, who can also either do something directly about it or bring it to the attention of the governor. Your heading is too sensational. Do not drag the state governor into it. Infact you as a citizen can send a message via X to the Governor in the regard. |
Una never enter una dey demand removal of secretary. This El Rufai abeg na. Let people get peace of mind abeg. |
Peterobiisathie:Sorry Tinubu did not contain them. Your thanks should go to Gov Soludo. The new Anambra state homeland security law is in effect. We have Agunechemba, SASA, the town unions and police personnel working hand in hand to contain them. Now you can no longer come out from nowhere, shoot people anyhow and expect to escape. If you escape the crime scene, you will be located in your jungle. Even Fulani herdsmen know the rules. Once you are caught, you face the music. |
Nigerian made cars are way too expensive to buy. Tokunboh cars have become prohibitive to buy too. Spare parts have gone over the roof with the prices. Petrol cost is high. Tariffs and taxes are unbearable. APC wetin we do una? |
That’s the problem of Godfatherism and irresponsible citizens/followers. No one has questioned the source of Wike’s stupendous wealth. He did not show us a factory or a successful law firm that he owned. How was he able to singlehandedly purchase the nominations forms for all the candidates, funded their elections and ensured that they all won? Having done that, they permitted him to control the state and its resources. Without doubt or asking a soothsayer, it is clear that Wike wants Fubara to be impeached by all means. In the end, Wike will be pushed down the political ladder over time. The case of Chris Ubah and Chris Ngige easily come to mind. Chris Ubah wanted his share of the state resources and everything went haywire. Now Chris Ubah is only seen and not heard. The same in the matter of Lamidi Adedibu and Ladoja. No peace until Ladoja was impeached. Again, it is a lesson for the likes of Fubara, who ride on the backs of men with resources to power. You have no control over yourself. The citizens of Rivers state have suffered more. With no proper representation, they simply watch and take sides with oppressors. Is it not time to wake up and demand accountability from their leaders? |
ddippset:The spokesman failed to inform the public that the bunch of cowards gave the governor 48 to present the budget. They gave the RESIEC man 48 hours to appear before them. 48 hours became part of their lexicon. They forgot that the 48 hours were meant to embarrass the governor himself and give the speaker the appearance of the governor himself. We never heard of such before. Wike himself would not tolerate that from his then house of assembly members. He made himself an absolute ruler, with nothing to show for in Rivers state other than roads and judges quarters. In the end what did they achieve. The cowards expect to receive their allowances and yet they prolong the matter. It is clear as daylight that the cowards are bent on impeaching Fubara. The commissioners list simply is another list of their own people to be presented to them for approval. I strongly believe that Wike will be out of the political equation by 2027 with this level of greed on his part. |
mrksquare:Thank you so very much for this clarification. I am not an Ijaw person, neither am I from Rivers state. My interest in this issue arose from Wike’s statement on the Ijaws being the minority tribe in Rivers state. Aside from history, you gave the political dimension from the days of Medford Okilo. Every state, just like the country itself, has this political arrangement where political leaders are chosen from different zones, to foster growth and unity. That’s why today BAT is the President, when power was ceded to the south. I see it that Odili distorted the political arrangement in Rivers state, as it was no longer the turn of the Ikwerres after his tenure. The Ikwerres took 16 years, affecting the balance of power. Magnus Abe had been trying his best for the governorship to be rotated to the Ogoni people, who by the way also have four local governments like the Ikwerres. Wike made a wise decision by slowing power to get to the Ijaws. The issue became his disagreement with Fubara. Making such inflammatory statement against the Ijaws was very unnecessary and absolutely uncalled for. If he did not hand over to an Ijaw person, someday it would get to the Ijaws and the Ogonis. |
Whether he was killed by his gang members or not, the important thing is that one evil man was eliminated. |
Let the cowards stay away for the remaining two years. They already lost well over one year doing nothing. No proper representation and nothing done in their constituencies. Who loses more? The cowards who are PDP in the day and APC at night. Those who decamp are always very open and never hide. Rivers state has an ex governor and state assembly men, who are cowards and cannot find the ability to openly state the party they belong to. In all, I expect Amaewhule and his group to contest the next election on the platform of APC, as they may finally find the guts to decamp on the eve of the next elections. |
Fuckyoumod:That’s the challenge with some of you on this forum. You bring up an issue, you can not defend it with decorum. The question now is this: With the Ijaws holding 12 LGAs, how have they become the “minority’ please”? The Ogonis are in 4 LGAs like the Ijaws, yet they are not termed “minority”. They ruled for 16 years and handed over to the Ijaws, who are in the majority. Where is the self deception? |
While he’s attempting to promote local industries, Trump is forced prices of goods higher in the USA, Europe and Asia. Let’s hope common sense is applied. This approach by Trump adds more economic pressure, following the pressure from the a Russian/Ukraine war. |
Fuckyoumod:There are 23 LGAs in Rivers state: Ijaw = 12 Lgs Ikwerre = 4 Lgs. Who are the minority between the two please? |
MXrep:Out of 23 local governments in Rivers state, how many belong to the Igbo speaking people please? |
Obviously. That has been repeatedly stated. We all know it. That’s why Wike purchased forms for all of them, so that he can absolutely dominate and control the state from wherever he’s located. Can we not safely say that the reason is found in the control of state resources? |
Stolen:I have never heard such words as this in my entire life. So one can be a ceremonial Yoruba, Igbo, Fulani, etc. Others can be customary Urhobo, Itsekiri, Hausa, etc. How does that sound please? So you for example can be either a ceremonial or customary (your own tribe)? Let’s not deceive ourselves about the Ijaws please. They have had their lands for centuries. “Agadagba-bou, the first ancient Ijaw city-state, existed for more than 400 years, lasting until 1050 CE. Due to internal conflict and violent weather patterns, this city-state was abandoned. Some of the descendants of this city-state created another in the 11th century called Isoma-bou, which lasted until the 16th century. This city-state, like the last, was founded in the Central Delta Wilberforce Island region. The Wilberforce Island region remains the most Ijaw-populated area of Nigeria”. “ Because an able enslaved person could inherit the business of a trader with no heir, it was possible to have non-Ijaw leaders acculturate as Ijaw; such a leader was King Jaja of Opobo. The Ijaw people bought slaves from Igboland, one of whom was Jaja, who was originally an Igbo man and who was bought by the Ibanis of Bonny. He later earned his way out of slavery and was renamed Jaja”. Jaja headed one of the ruling houses in Bonny after his freedom. A fight led him to migrate and he found Opobo, where he became the first Amanyanabo (an Ijaw name and title). Acculturation made Jaja an Ijaw man. Jaja founded Opobo, as earlier stated and the rest became history, with Opobo becoming a complete Ijaw land as we know today. If you take a look at my narration, you will not find the Efiks there. Are Ijaws Igbos or Efiks? No. Except that they share boundaries, they are not related. The Ijaw people are the descendants of the ORU. The ORU migrated from the Nile River Valley and Lake Chad region in northeastern Nigeria to the delta region of the Niger River. |
Okpebholo1:How’s he in the wrong my old friend? Can you state it clearly? |
Believeintruth:Even at that, they are in the majority. If we also expand our look into the Niger Delta as a whole, we find the Ijaws in other states of the Niger Delta. Where do you find Ikwerre people? Rivers state only. Wike’s comment in that regard was very childish, very petty and completely unnecessary. I am not holding brief for the people of Ijaw land, but it is absolutely reprehensible to make such a comment, especially as someone who was a governor in the same state. Opobo is Ijaw land completely and that’s where Fubara comes from. |
Nonsense talk. |
