I first started by working in a known department store and I got an employment letter for it. Now I work in a bank and also have an employment letter.

My program is a 2 years course. I did the first semester in Nigeria before leaving. I came to Canada and stayed about 3months before applying for my family.

Yes, I indicated my family as non-accompanying when I applied for my study visa. So when I was now applying for them, I explained that I had stayed in Canada for a while and can't handle it alone anymore. Yes, my initial home ties were immediate family, life assurance policy, pension acct and assets. When I was applying for them, we changed it to my husband's parents, our siblings and assets including the life assurance and pension. Hope this helps.

1.What kind of employment letter in canada did u provide.I ask because typically u can only work 20hrs a week and that usually is not a major job hence my suprise yoy could gain an employment letter

2.Is your program a 1 or 2 year course.? It also suggested you completed one semester before spplying for your family

Lastly and my major question, did you indicate your family as non accompanying in your own student permit application and if so,how did u navigate convincing the VO of change of intention in a short while in canada. I also assumed your initial home ties was your family so am interested in learning

Thanks . Yes they are. For visitor visa, my hubby went to get his updated MyBankStatement and I got an updated bank statement from here.

Indeed, what GOD cannot do does not exist!!! My heart is full of joy and gratitude to the Almighty God!

I also thank @Lianna for her help in guiding me with the documents for submission. Thanks sis. I also thank everyone on Nairaland for your various contributions on this platform, I gathered a lot of information here. God bless you all.

I applied for SOWP for my husband and study visas for my 2 older kids on October 8th, 2021. My children got their medical request 6 weeks after and their PPR on Dec 10, 2021 but no news for my husband. I kept sending webforms but all I got was the generic messages.

1st week of January, I decided to reach out to the MP of my area and she was really helpful in contacting them and giving me feedback. However, she informed me that for whatever reason, they didn’t link my husband’s application with that of my kids hence the delay. I was angry, frustrated and confused because I did the application myself and he was the primary applicant. IRCC informed my MP that the average processing time is 40weeks for SOWP and they can’t give any further information other than medicals and criminality had been passed. MP advised that I apply for visitor’s visa so at least my family can come and then we apply for work visa from within Canada. I applied for it on January 11th and woke up to my good news this morning! I also checked the visitors visa application and saw that they also just updated the medicals today. I guess that they saw that the UCI number was same and he already had a work permit application waiting for a VO’s attention. I believe that the visitor’s visa application prompted them to pick up my hubby’s SOWP file. GOD DID IT!!!

One thing I will like to advice is, try to make your finance and home ties proof water tight! Also, make sure you are organized enough to arrange all your documents in a table of contents, with the name of each document and page number. It is painstaking but worth it. Lastly, Hope in God. Last night, I finally left everything in God’s hands and told him that I was not going to give myself high BP over this matter anymore, I danced in advance to praise him for all he had done form me so far and went to be just grateful for the one’s he had done for me. Not asking for anything more. I woke up to my good news this morning. My heart cannot contain my joy! I pray everyone waiting her experience this joy soonest in JESUS NAME!!!! AMEN!!!!!

In my case, I only added my school details and they were approved. I didn't include any information for my children except their birth certificate. In my opinion, I think both parents documents need to be airtight and not necessarily the children. VO's understand the nature of education in both countries. Just focus on making the documents from both adults top notch.

Hi, No they don't require LOA but there are ways to fulfill the blank box since the cic portal will ask for it regardless.

My school immigration expert said the form doesn't discriminate between adult and kids so it does not leave out that part. However, the parent LOA is not the same as what is needed here even though you need it to include as part of the application material for SOWP. I added my LOA as part of client information for my wife SOWP. She advised that I write a short letter of explanation to upload instead of LOA as #1.

For the kids LOA requirement, I combined three materials. I sent an email to the local school board asking for enrollment eligibility or admission offer for my kids based on my status. They replied that the kids need to obtain their immigration documents, arrive in Canada and we bring the original documents along before we can get the LOA/offer/eligibility letter. This email was my #2 material to merge with other stuff here.

I went to the CIC website to download the page where it was stated that if kids come with parents studying with a study visa the kids don't require an LOA to apply for study visa. I converted this to PDF, highlighted the clause, and made it my #3 material. See website link below to explore.

Also, because my province (Quebec) require kids to also receive an approval before applying for study visa called CAQ, I saved a pdf of similar page from the provincial website, and highlighted the part that stated kids don't need to submit an LOA to apply for study visa as #4 item.

Finally, I merged all these into a single PDF and uploaded instead of the LOA. I also made reference to this clause and what I have uploaded instead in my family SOP.

Please, note that in some provinces, it may be possible to get LOA or other documents that may fulfill this condition either from the government agency or directly from schools. In such a case you do not need to go through the stress that I listed above.

I applied for my family, my children have been approved but we are still waiting for a response for my husband's SOWP APPLICATION. My daughter fell and broke her hand yesterday. I have been so disoriented since then.

However, PHAC rejects some of these applications too. If the applicant is fully vaccinated and the health situation is not an emergency, one might get a rejection.

ok so basically guys the honest truth is SOWP is still dragging, I dont want to give you false hope. this situation that has happened to me is like when a duck is gracefully swimming above water but the legs are paddling like crazy under.

first of all if you can get a reasonable MP that is patient and will request an urgent processing. when i gave up on my SOWP was when i processed an urgent processing from my MP and IRCC indirectly told him that it will be ignored. that was the straw that broke the camels back. the MP told me to contact him in 4 months to attempt again, meanwhile i was already on my 6th month in October then. I proceeded to apply for visit visa on October 27th and did an exemption webform. 30 working days passed and still nothing, at this point i started sending webforms again up and down.

frustration set in for me as my 8 months SOWP was totally off the table and i had put it on the back-burner and was chasing the Visit visa under reuniting with immediate family.i reached out to the MP again to do an inquiry on my Visit visa and it came back with their usual rubbish, so i decided to do an urgent request on that one where i attached screenshots of numerous application timelines of people in my similar situation getting their visit visa in mere days meanwhile i was on my 39th working day.

i used the gc key to apply for both applications I was getting desperate and wanted to do another visit visa application with the fast portal, i came to find out on nairaland that it was generally October applications that were being ignored. the use of gc key came to be my saving grace as they must have treated both my applications as one general eligibilty test and then gave me my PPR.

guys my long and short is sending webforms indiscriminately is not enough please be strategic, if your own MP for your area is being difficult, claim you are from another postcode and email the MP there and test your luck. also it is very worthy to note that as usual stand alone SOWP are still not being prioritised, so if you can apply for a visit visa.

God will make it easy for us all in Jesus name

I think it was just the timing. Cuz that's the same documents I submitted but it tends to look dishonest to some VO's when u use family as home ties then immediately u are given SP, u change almost immediately to apply for family. It looks like a glaring wrong move. Not all visa officers welcome such change. It is best to land in Canada first and stay a couple of weeks before applying. That way, your explanation of missing family is more logical. This is my opinion. Hope this helps

We did it at Qlife on Nov 29. We had already booked for Upfront medical shortly after applying so the medical request just came at the right time.

Congrats and we thank God on your behalf. Are these study visas or visitor's visa? If they are visitor's visa quickly apply for travel restriction exemption authorization letters for anyone of your family with visit visa. They can't travel without the authorization. It shall end in praises.

What God cannot do does not exist oh!!! It has ended in praises for my 2 kids. PPR just landed for them. I am still expecting my husbands own though but God will surely complete what He started.

Congrats. Did you mean the kids have not done medical before they got PPR? Whatever the case, send their passport and include explanation letter that their father's application is pending and request that it be expedited since kids can't travel alone.

Write email to nairobi saying the same and also raise web form for same reason. But DO NOT send your PASSPORT yet. Send only for the kids ASAP using return courier to Abuja. It will return within a week and if you do as said there is a good chance you will get hubby's PPR after the kid's passport is stamped. Don't forget to pay transmission fees for each kid (now N9,410 each) and put a photocopy of the hubby's biometric slip - don't put the original since it will be critical for submitting hubby's passport later. Reference this copy in your LOE addressed to the Embassy through the VAC/VFS. Treat them like kids in explaining these things. They don't use initiatives at all. Most of them na ROBOT.

However, these all depend on whether the kids have done medicals or not because they are required to do it even in the rare case that they already got approved and PPR.

Hello, I am in Calgary, no need for drivers extract in Alberta, your original drivers license will do as it shows the date of your first license issue. I did drivers extract before coming and it was a waste of money and time.

I have gotten so much information from mechanic to hairdresser to when to change your tyres and where to get a lot of things . Been reading since last Yr and it's been worthwhile. I've actually been waiting for some wonderful landing gists but so far it's as if no one has travelled recently or all the people getting ppr recently on other forums are not on nairaland.
Ok house pls I need some clarifications on my questions.
Has anyone landed in a different province for like a day or 2 before proceeding to another province for their 14 days quarantine.
I intend landing in January by God's grace with 2 teenagers and 2 under 10. I know the teenagers need to quarantine for 14 days since they aren't vaccinated. Now my concern is that I want to land in BC for like a day or 2 just to see my investor and pick up some few documents but I would love to settle in calgary. Will it be OK to put calgary address as their quarantine address even if I stay 2 days in a hotel in bc before moving to calgary or will that amount to violating any law. I wouldn't mind them staying the 14days in vancouver honestly, but we would be using their quarantine period to sort accommodation in calgary and getting school for them.

My second question is if we are still required to get the FRSC extract for drivers license in calgary. Not sure if this is what they call it. I still have other questions though will ask them later. Thank you.

God is faithful oh, I just got medical request for my 2 children. I applied for SOWP for my husband and 2 kids. I am yet to get anything for my husband though but I am positive that it is going well. My family applied October 8th and my husband did his Biometrics Oct 12.

This is a good sign for my hubby's application right? Seeing that he is the primary applicant?

Create account for your spouse and put your kids' under his (of course, you would write an invitation letter for them and sign).

You can also just add all their applications under your own account.
