This is the insensitivity of Government that we are saying,Why has the ministry of education and Jamb decided to subordinate Polytechnic to the university by this so called cut-off mark? Are they saying now that candidates that scored 150 marks cannot get to the university and perform better? Some exams today are no longer true test of knowledge as some got the higher scores through exam malpractices and we all know this. One of the reasons why ASUP is still on strike today is because of the dichotomy between polytechnic graduates and their university counterpart and yet Government is still keeping mute another way killing education in this country.What does it take government to attend to their demands for them to go back to the classroom? It is high time for government to revisit this present system of education of 6-3-3-4 as it the proponent of it did not take into cognizance POLYTECHNIC education hence this dichotomy. Students spent 5-6 years to complete/graduate with HND and not 4years as the case of the university.

This every minute attack on innocent people by Fulani has become something else and nobody is doing anything about it. Should Fulani people continue the killings of Nigerians?

Is it by discrediting, insulting,and always painting the government in power wrong even when they do something right that we play politics? These two opposition parties spokespersons have never for ones seen anything good in this administration,is it by this character that they think their APC will win in 2015? We are watching! I am not a politician but one expect that when your worst enemy does something right a times you commend him but Fashakin and Lai has never done that for ones, too bad! This administration came up with transformation agenda that definitely carries both short and long term impact, but because we turn ourselves to opposition we have refused to see reality.The administration have problems no doubt but can't they be seen as having done one thing right at a time? No wonder there is a saying of "educated illiterate", or is it that we allowed our selfishness to becloud our sense of reasoning born out of poverty of the mind? I do not intend to abuse anyone but it baffles me in most cases as we do things a times like people that are not enlighten.

This is what you see/get when there's clamor for certificate and not merit.This is the beginning of exposition of inadequacies of the leadership of the organization as we have heard that in this particular organization many went to get degree certificate because those having HND certificate holders who are more practical and sound on the job are relegated to the background by creating separate insignia for them along side with sssce holders thereby placing their degree holders colleaque ahead of them in the same organization.I think in the military/paramilitary where they do practically same job,there should be no discrimination of such.I think it is high time for the "oga at the top" to look into the issue and allow placement/appointment to be purely on merit.

Please, let us tell ourselves the truth.Each time they talk about amnesty,they keep referring to the amnesty given to Niger Delta. The question we should ask ourselves are:- 1) Niger Delta militants were fighting a course( economic agitation of their God given resources),what is Boko Haram fighting for? 2) The niger delta boys -militants were visible in the creek, where or who are the Boko Haramist? How many innocents people did niger delta militants killed? How many Churches did they bombed/burnt? 3)Boko Haram killed thousands of innocents people(christians),burnt churches,etc, Are we now demanding for amnesty for them for killing innocent people and burning of churches & killing of our security personnel all over the places? Grant them amnesty and see HARAM BOKO emerging from middle belt. Thank you.

I advise if there is any one in Government that is participating in this Forum to drop sentiment and take this matter up with the arms(National Assembly and Executive) of government that are in position to find lasting solution to this dichotomy/discrimination between the two graduates/institutions,it is very unnecessary and unhealthy to the Nigerian economy.The polytechnic have its own peculiarity and as such,the graduates should be allowed reach the peak of their career void of discrimination of any kind.

To start with, i must say am happy seeing many contributions here with objectivity.Even some university graduates spoke 4rm objective point of view not minding that university is their constituency and i believe these are the category of university graduates that you 'll discover actually passed through university & university passed through them.They have the intellect,exposure,knowledge etc. Unlike the half baked university graduates that goes about bragging,both in the office environment and even on NAIRALAND, give them simple memo to draft for you in the office they can't with their so called 2.1 4rm the university,we have many of them in my office.No matter the discrimination/dichotomy placed between the two certificate/graduates in the work place which of course I am a victim,I am still proud of polytechnic, a proud HND graduates no matter what anyone think about it and so i expect of any quality polytechnic graduate.I graduated 4rm OKOPOLY and i know the stuff am made of.If university graduates like let them continue in their sentiment and Government can as well continue in their discrimination,time shall tell.

1)Rhames,WHAT SECTION OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA empowers the federal civil service or any agencies/organization alike to discriminate or place dichotomy against HND graduates in this country? 2)It is most unfortunate that we allow sentiment/selfishness to becloud our sense of reasoning/judgement. Both the university and polytechnic institution are set up for their own peculiarities which of course should give no room/bases for disparity/discrimination.To the best of my knowledge,university institution is made to be 60% theoretical/research and 40% practical while polytechnic is 40% theoretical and 60% practical spending 6 good years to graduate HND. And when it comes to work environment you discover that polytechnic graduates have always proved themselves and performs better than their university counterpart. This is without bias for the reality, a man ignores today will definitely stares at his face tomorrow.Other countries of the world have used polytechnic to build their economy and i think we should be advising/urging the Government of the day to do than placing the sentiment on Doctors/Professors lecturers.

The superiority craziness of men of the Nigeria Police Force because of the so called general duties because they do prosecution of cases is an issue that people should be talking about.We should learn to call spade a spade and a spider a spider. The Nigeria Police is not the only uniform organization in this country,how many other ones have we heard or seen fighting themselves in this country? It is only the Police that fight the Army, the Navy,the Air force,Prison,FRSC,Civil Defence,etc? Why not Road safety fighting the Army,civil defence,or prison fighting the Navy or Air force Fighting Navy or even Customs?etc.The motorcycle the rating use is not for commercial,they were going back from work,why can't the police allow them to in the spirit of espirit de corps.It is a question of understanding,what is in it.
