Ronaldinho is no doubt a legend in football. He is very much more tactical than J.J. However, since the topic is "DRIBBLING" even Zidane is NOT a match to J.J. Zidane is a Professor of football but NOT even a PhD in dribbling. Throughout France 98 he hardly dribbled one player face to face but his excellent passing techniques and midfield control covered up for that. Google Zidane soccer skills on youtube, you'll be very disappointed . . they are very few dribbles by the football professor! Okocha, has better dribbling than Ronaldinho and Zidane but Ronaldinho was more productive and Zidane, more tactical. PS: there is NO Single football move attributed to be created by Ronaldinho (Elastico which he does often was always there before he was born . . .lol). Okocha has a whooping TWO to his name! PS:IF DRIBBLING ALONE WERE FOOTBALL, EVEN ZIDANE IS NO MATCH FOR JAY JAY and that is the truth! Zidane is NOT A DRIBBLER! Check youtube for his skills compilation . . .you may be disappointed like I was, but for his football in general . . . . OUT OF THIS WORLD! |
Amongst the popular browsers, IE is the slowest. Safari handles AJAX pages (like the new yahoo and the new facebook) much better. Firefox is also very good. I only use IE for some pages that are designed with IE in mind. If not, Safari or Firefox. |
L+G, Attimes the evil that men do, delays coming after them. However, when it finally does, sympathy may not always be available. Not that I do not in any way sympathise with the Yorubas that were killed, but it feels sad that these people may not have been alive during the era when the secession of this country was almost a reality. A secession that would have prevented this occurences. During the Biafran war, the yoruba's supported the Hausas against the Igbos. The Niger-Deltans also did. Millions of Igbos lost their lives. Had it been that the Yorubas had agreed to the simple plan that the Igbos had with Awolowo (to declare Oduduwa republic) the innocent lives that were lost in the recent Jos crisis may not have been lost. When the Igbos were fighting to liberate themselves from a people who have no regard for human lives, the Yorubas were against us. We were rebels. The people of Rivers state renamed their streets to remove any trace of Igbo prescence. In the late nineties, the Niger Deltans began to cry foul like the Biafrans once did. The leader of their movement was Saro Wiwa. Shortly, Saro Wiwa was killed by the same northerners (Abacha) that the Niger delatans supported against we the Igbos! Its so unfortunate that what the Biafrans saw in the 1960s is what the NigerDeltans are seeing now. Now they carry guns and kidnap here and there. Threatening to form a NigerDelta republic if their demands are not met. It happens to be now that the Niger Deltans know that Northerners are parasites . . . . .according to Asari Dokubo. Of recent, the Yorubas' eyes have also began to open. Now, the Yorubas (with the death of 113 Yorubas) are also gradually beginning to cry foul too. More is yet to come. Soon enough, when the ND and Yorubas are fed up with the North and their incessant killings, the nation will break up into fragments. Because by that time, the north will be the only force crying one Nigeria! Believe you me, it will come to pass. The Northerners who cry one Nigeria with their lips and not with their acts, will be the facilitators of the fragmentation of Nigeria with their acts. The other regions are becoming intolerant gradually. |
While OBJ was not good in certain areas, i certainly agree with the fact that he was better in emergency response. Yar-Adua should have taken drastic measures to forestall further damage . . too bad . . . the damage is already multi-catastrophic. |
L+G, Firstly, I really sympathize with the people who lost their lives in this crisis. I can imagine how their parents feel. Young graduates who are just starting a life! What can i say? Terrible. On the other hand, when i see people like Kobojunkie and JosBoy4Life suggesting that education will be the solution to this crisis, I feel sad. While I do not intend to get into an aggressive exchange of words with anybody (as has never been my style), I feel sorry when people render hopeless solutions (like education) in an attempt to avoid the obvious truth. On a seemingly unrelated note, i wish to throw a question. Can anyone tell me why India and Pakistan seceded? Quote from Wikipedia On 15 August 1947, India gained independence from British rule, but at the same time Muslim-majority areas were partitioned to form a separate state of Pakistan.[31] On 26 January 1950, India became a republic and a new constitution came into effect. L+G, pakistan is a Nuclear Power! Education levels are high and may even be much higher than you have in nigeria in general, but DEFINITELY higher than you have in the North. Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world and has the second largest Muslim population in the world after Indonesia. The country is listed among the "Next Eleven" economies. Pakistan is a founding member of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, Developing 8 Countries, G20 developing nations and the Economic Cooperation Organisation. It is also a member of the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations, World Trade Organisation, G33 developing countries, Group of 77 developing nations, major non-NATO ally of the United States and is a nuclear state. Men and Brethren, in spite of all these, pakistan is a haven for terrorists! Jihadists just like in northern Nigeria, thrive in Pakistan irrespective of their educational level. On thing is sure. Education can make a man exposed, but it can not root out deep-rooted beliefs and hatred. Kobojunkie from my observations, is good at rotflmao when issues are critical. Normally you would feel that after her ussual rotflmao, she would come up with a wonderful idea to explain why she "laughed" at the initila "rantings" of others, but she has made it a point of duty to disappoint us with seemingly baseless suggestions. . . .like the suggestion of education as a remedial plan for the incessant genocides in the north! Who on this thread can lay claim to being oblivious of the fact that Osama bin Laden had world class exposure that many villagers on the south do not have?Yet Are these unexposed and uneducated Southerners as blood-thirsty as the Northern Muslims and Osama are? Was Osama not from an extremely wealthy home? How then can we say poverty is the reason for all these barbaric killings? Bin Laden was raised as a devout Sunni Muslim.[18] From 1968 to 1976 he attended the "élite" secular Al-Thager Model School.[19] Bin Laden studied economics and business administration[20] at King Abdulaziz University. Some reports suggest bin Laden earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979,[21] or a degree in public administration in 1981.[22] Other sources describe him as having left university during his third year,[23] never completing a college degree, though "hard working."[24] At university, bin Laden's main interest was religion, where he was involved in both "interpreting the Quran and jihad" and charitable work.[25] He is also a poet.[26] If education was the answer, then the recent attacks on India which is linked by media reports to Pakistani terrorists would not have happened. If the alleged terrorists still had so much drive and zeal that they crossed boarders to commit the atrocity, imagine what the nation of INDIAPAKISTAN would have been! Definitely like Nigeria. Secession of India and Pakistan has made it such that it has only been heard of in trickles . . .why can't Nigeria learn from India? Remember that India and Pakistan broke up in 1947, and up till now, remnants of the blood-thirst still exists in their former countrymen, the Pakistanis. How much more a case where the two fractions are together as is the case in the failed state we live in? For the sake of sound reasoning, it may not be wise to make suggestions and profer solutions, when you are not naturally gifted in pattern recognition. If you can recognize patterns, you should have seen that this pattern of jihad, terrorism is not in anyway, inversely proportional to the level of education. Time magazine had a story on Modern-Day Terrorism. They carefully x-rayed the lifes of many modern day terrorists. You would be shocked to notice that the new generation of terrorists are graduates, exposed, polished and what you would call a "correct guy/girl". The ladies amongst them were pretty secular-looking ladies. Irrespective of all that, the deep-rooted hatred for Israel and America, drives them to tie bombs and walk into buildings and crowded places and detonate the bombs. Speaking on this same issue, permit me to remind you that Ahmadinejad is HIGHLY EDUCATED with a PHD in engineering! The same president of a Nation called Iran openly said (on air) that the Nation of Israel should be wiped out of the face of the earth! In 1976, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took Iran's national university entrance exams (concours). He has claimed that he ranked 132nd out of 400,000 participants that year,[27] and soon enrolled in the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) as an undergraduate student of civil engineering. He was accepted to a Master of Science program at the same school in 1986, and eventually received his doctorate in 1997 in civil engineering and traffic transportation planning.[28][29] During his doctoral studies at Tehran, he was the governor general of Ardabil Province (1993-1997). Ahmadinejad was a lecturer and member of the faculty at the university since 1989.[26][28] with all these glaring fatcs, i find it preposterous that people ( like Josboy4lif and Kobojunkie) tenaciously cling to frivoulous ideas all in an attempt to avoid mentioning the obvious solution - secession. On another note, Iran's nuclear enrichment (which is suspected by many as a plot by Iran to build an nuclear bomb that will ultimately wipe out Israel) is spearheaded by Iranian scientists of whom a lot are most likely professors and PhDs. These professors and researchers in Nuclear Physics and engineering are far more educated than the average person. Yet the willfully continue their nuclear pursuit for nuclear enrichment even after UN has sanctioned the nation. You would expect a Prof to be "civilized" enough to resign from duty the moment news breaks that the UN has sanctioned his nation for a project he is supervising/working in. Can I hear someone say education again? Was Hitler a drop-out? yet deep-seated hatred by him and the Nazis for the Jews, made one of the most civilized nations of the world to reduce to the level of being involved in one of the worlds worst genocides. The scar of the holocaust on the image of Germany as a classical example of 21st century civilization is one that may never heal beyond visibility. While I strive to remain humble and avoid boasting, anyone who is conversant with my posts knows that I rarely comment on threads not related to my nation Biafra, but when I do, I take time to research well, lest another showeth me how my suggestion/reasoning holdeth no water. Please and please again, If you do not know what to suggest as a solution to these occurrences, it is more noble to drop a line of sympathy for the deceased and move on, than to suggest like Kobojunie and Josboy4life that education will help settle the problems. Human lives are more important than answering One Nigeria. If 200 people will die in One Nigeria and 20 will die in a nation broken into as many ethnic groups as there are in Nigeria, i go for the later. On a final note, you cannot amalgamate a Jewish colony(south-easterners) and an Arab colony (northerners) in one nation. It's an experiment that has never worked anywhere and hopes of this failed nation to be the first instance of its possibility, diminishes with each passing day. When will we open our eyes to the Obvious truth of the neccessity of seccesion? Food for thought. Obrigado |
d emperor:Well, For those who think Biafra will be a failed state without the oil of the ND, https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-186168.128.html#msg3026190 You can also read the whole thread and see the achievements of ours, without ND oil. PS: The G7 Nations are not oil dependent economies. Biafrans are business/technology oriented. Obrigado. |
Well Bashing for those who don't study their historic links. For me, I do. Don't those similarities there look too similar to be coincidental? |
L+G One thing gladdens my heart - the similarity between the Igbos and the Jews. I'll tell you guys at the end why it gladdens my heart. Speaking of these similarities:- Economic/Financial Dominance - Jews were the richest and most envied before Hitler and his men decided to wipe them out and seize/destroy all ther belongings Natural Business Acumen - The Jews (like the Igbos) control the economies of their immediate environment) Intelligence/Technological aptitude Hatred/Envy By Neighbors Oppression/Enslavement - The jews were enslaved/oppressed in several places (germany, spain) like the Igbos are being oppressed now. But finally . . . . . . . Freedom! A state of theirs called Israel - A state of ours called Biafra! -That's what gladdens my heart! The God of the Jews will never leave Biafrans! Whether you all like it or not, Igbos are destined to be great because we are Jews! Nothing can stop it. Its the Jewish blood in us working. Thats why we understand wealth and success to the envy of our neighbors. Obrigado |
bastrin:@ Bastrin I find it hard to believe that a human that at this point in time should be trying to convince us that he is not moronic still clings on to family issues relating to Uzoma ,when we are talking about human rights. Arguments like yours are what make the military lose its respect like To-chi pointed out. Irrational Judgement. Bastrin, listen if you will. You have been repeatedly told that the lady's personal life has absolutely nothing to do with what is happening now. Even animals learn with repeated instruction. I don't know why a person who claims to be in his right thinking tenaciously clings on to irrelevancies that are nowhere with related with the issue at hand even after repeated correction. Even if Uzoma has divorced 6 men who she fought violently all the time, such personal issues hold no water in issues like this. Be reasonable and stop destroying the modicum of respect that the military is trying to salvage with these irrational, irresponsible, biased, moronic arguments of yours. bastrin:Can you validate the claim? Sources? |
rotimiorims:I love those lines. People like Ogboraph, Arogz, Bastrin and Corosive need to read those lines. They are the kind of people that do not love a society in whichAll Men are Equal. |
Arogz:1) While I agree that Uzoma's account of the incident states that the RAdm's car had passed before the incident occurred, permit me to put it to you that the actions of the ratings was directly supervised by the R.Adm. The floggings and the bullying did not begin at that spot. R.ADm Arogundade must have seen his boys violently beating cars out of the way before they got to Muhri Okunola. If a trained, seasoned RAdm cannot control six naval junior officers operating in the midst of civilians, how then can he control a flotilla in the warfront, talk-less of large fleet of warships in the heat of battle? 2) If Uzoma was not beaten, then what was happening at the beginning of the video when they were near the pick-up? I may not know how clear your eyesight may be, but I could see the naval officer slapping her repeatedly. Watch the video again. What about the guy that came to rescue her and got a gun-butt, leaving with a bloody head? Secondly, since when did the military start arresting civilians? Was there a state of emergency in Lagos that led to the dispatch of military men to help control the state? That is the only time i know that Military men are allowed to support the police. In such cases, it is the army that is called upon, not even the navy. If I am being oblivious of some facts relating to the duties of the Navy, someone can help me out. 3) You Arogundade supporters forget that there is something that is one of the most powerful evidences in court . . . "the eye-witness accounts". Uzoma had some people in her car who can testify to the fact that the Naval Officers began flogging her before she retaliated. Last time I checked, self defense was not an offense but the assault of the officers is a crime punishable by a jail term. So long as the Officers were the first to flog her (as eye-witnesses can testify to) the even if she took his gun and shot him dead, she can walk out of a court scot free. Remember that the Okada man that was shot was killed in cold blood - on his knees begging the naval officer. Who knows if it was her fight that kept her alive today? 4) Arogundade ordered a new blouse for her after he had told her that she was lucky not to have been killed! That statement IS the statement that WILL NAIL HIM IN COURT! He showed approval for their actions by that comment. While I admitting that giving her a new blouse is a good gesture, he should have continued the gesture by making a public apology . . anyway, that is a little too late. 5) Last time I checked, Uzoma was not a military woman. The military court marshall is for military men. Arogundade should know that the offense he committed was a civilian offense and a civil court will decide his fate. A military court may come in later. 6) If Arogundade is a fine man that you claim he is, why has he not done what fine men do? The likes of Thabo Mbeki who resigned under criticism. OK, Maybe I'm taking it too far since such things are far-fetched in Naija, but a public apology is not far-fetched. His "fineness" could not overcome his pride/arrogance, meaning that his pride is stronger. Last time I checked, ability to accept responsibility was part of the features of a "fine" man. As someone rightly said, Arogundade has failed to consult damage control experts/lawyers. If he had surrounded himself with reasonable people, his open apology would have been everywhere on the papers and his image would have been redeemed. In fact, his apology would have become an exemplary scenario. However, its too late. May His Career and Image Rest-in-Peace (R.I.P) |
God will help us in this country Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Minister's security aides brutalise FAAN driver in Jos From Isa Abdulsalami (Jos) SECURITY operatives attached to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, on Sunday evening at Mararaban Foron, near Jos, the Plateau State capital, manhandled the driver of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) simply identified as Dung. They also smashed the 16-seater Toyota bus belonging to FAAN. Eyewitness said the minister and his convoy were probably returning from his home, Mangu, while the FAAN driver was coming from the Jos Airport to pick his boss, the Airport Regional Manager, Mr. Chris Bature, who used the vehicle as his official car. "The driver was in front of the convoy. They had been pursuing him but the convoy was able to overtake him at Mararaban Foron Junction near Jos. All the minister's security men descended heavily on him. "Because the FAAN driver is a hefty and strong man, he did not fall neither did he give up in spite of all the injuries inflicted on him. He made sure that everybody had a taste of the blood gushing out from his nose and body by rubbing it on the clothes of the security men. By then the Minister had come out of his vehicle, standing without saying anything. At this stage the people of Mararaban Foron came out in their numbers to show sympathy by simply wailing and shouting: "What you people are doing is not good. Do you want to kill this man?" As the crowd surged forward wailing, the source said to make sure there was no reprisal attack from them, the security aides fired gun shots into the air twice to disperse them. He said the driver who was soaked with blood all over was moving directionlessly like a wounded lion. He said the security aides tried to bundle the driver into their vehicle but met a stiff resistance from him. Then somebody quickly advised the minister to leave, that it was not good for him to remain at the scene while his men were unleashing terror on a harmless citizen. The minister was said to have bought the idea and he moved into his car while the convoy also left. "It was at that point that they left the FAAN man. But as the security men were moving away, the wounded driver held onto one of them. They tried to remove his grip from the security man but to no avail. The driver succeeded in forcing himself into the moving vehicle and they drove away. Up till now, nobody knows what has become of the man," he alleged. The Guardian contacted the Personal Assistant to the minister, Mr. Paul S. Gwankat, who confirmed the story, saying that the case had been lodged at the Bukuru Police Station. At the State Police Command Headquarters in Jos, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Kassim, said that he had not been well, directing the reporter to Bukuru Police Station. An officer at the Bukuru Police Station said there was no such case. When the reporter got to the airport, the FAAN spokesman could not be reached. The FAAN vehicle was however parked at the Barkin Ladi Police Station where a source said the driver was hospitalised at Barkin Ladi General Hospital and later discharged. The regional manager with the Presidency had taken up the case, according to the source. At the Barkin Ladi Police Station, the van marked FAAN was parked near the bush while the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the station, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) was not available to comment on the matter. @Bastrin You did not answer any of the question i threw to you on the last page. I am tempted to sympathize with you. Not that wrong may have befallen you, but that you are not the kind of person a fair-minded society with sane people would love in its midst. To me, thats the worst thing that can happen to someone - to reason like in a barbaric manner as your posts depict. I tell you, its worse than madness. |
@grafikdon, Now you see what we've been battling with. Abeg help me tell them. Bastrin and ogboraph are not just the kind of people we need around a country that is hungry for change. Thanks for feeling with me. @Bastrin, reasonable people like grafikdon will concur that you need to be exiled from a civilized society or a society that is making effort to be civilized. @all. sorry for the typos on the last post shaa. |
@ Bastrin When I hear people like you talk, I feel like a spell of perpetual barbarism and uncivilization may be upon The cops that beat him were convicted and some went to jail. Even after the dramatic court ruling, King was still caught for various crimes and offenses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_King Here we are trying to sanitize our system and you are persistently contaminating the thread with firy tales of how her mother is a boxer. What on earth has her mother's personality got to the with the fact that Rear Admiral Arogundade is probably going to end up a felon? What has the barbaric behavior of those Naval ratings got to do with the behavior of the lady in question. You say it was wrong for her to have retaliated. Right? What about these? The cold-blooded killing of an okada man by a Navy Officer in Lagos. The Murder of Obiekea by millitary men in Owerri. Did those people retaliate. Mind You, the bike man that was killed was shot while on his knees begin the Naval officer after brushing his car. You tenaciously hold on to irrelevant things that will not help Nigeria to deal with her problems. Is the "stuuborness" of the lady and her family as much of a disgrace as the conduct of Military men? Are you saying that the Lady was wrong to have snatches the horse-whip from the naval officer? Have you hear of the word self-defence? Do you know that if the lady had pulled off the naval officer's gun and shot him right dead, she would walk out of the court room scot free? So long as they charged at her fiercely and lashed her once, she could have done that and gone scot free. Bastrin, on a final note, answer this question or try to be a little quiet for a while (not a command though). Is it a crime for her mother too be a Boxer? Is it a crime for the lady to be naturally a stubborn person? Would it have been a crime if she had engaged the men if a boxing bout? Is it unlawful for Rear Admirals to use sirens? Is it unlawful to deny a fellow citizen the right to free movement? Is it a criminal offense to assault another person physically? Is it a crime to forcefully take a person against his wil to another place? Will it benefit Nigeria if we choose to look at the lady's personality or the actual crime? Will the Judge look at the personality of the lady or the action of the Naval Officers? If people like me (Bastrin) with the kind of reasoning i posses ,were to preside over a country, what would that country look like? Obrigado. |
DippThinka:Apparently Gaminechic. @Gaminechic, Gamine you really need to work on your sense of Judgement. Its appalling. Can you please tell us to what capacity you knew Uzoma with respect to your knowing her past and being the only source of the seemingly false fact that she was a bully in school? |
Gaminechic:People who are prone to sentiments often appear to be the ones who cry foul about sentiments first. What has her secondary school history got to do with the case at hand? Gaminechic, you really need to understand how the legal system works. When the parties involved stand in court, what the Judge will ask is " Did the naval officers brutalize . . . " and not "Did Uzoma terrorize . . . . " You are being sentimental by holding on to what does not count in a furious attempt to see something discrediting in the lady. In the court room, if the Rear Admiral's lawyer mentions what you mentioned, the ladies lawyer does not need to object before the Judge reminds him that Uzoma's secondary school life is irrelevant in the case at hand. As per your statement that she terrorized people while in school, can you please cite your source? |
@ All, darfur:From the consistent ideological pattern I observed in Kobojunkie, I realized that she happens to be someone who just loves to be controversial . .probably in an attempt to attract attention on any thread she filters into. Attimes you carefully observe her opinions on two different threads and you see that she may not actually even know where she stands! Thats the amazing discovery i made! On a thread where everyone says black is good, Kobojunkie has an apparent uncontrollable desire to scream that Black is bad. On a different section of the forum, people may be of the opinion that black is bad and just right there Kobojunkie jumps into the thread to show everyone why Black is good! Again, her tendency to cry foul all the time, that her views are not respected, or that people of opposing views are trying to subdue her views shows that there may be a psychological complex which beclouds her reasoning so much so that the determining factor for stand on the fence, is a viewpoint that will try to resist this imaginary oppression that hunts her (by people of opposing views) . . .even when such a viewpoints/stands leave the poster hopelessly wandering in the abyss of vain reasoning. The Irony of the whole complex is that Kobojunkie within her may feel that she is a person of independent opinion whereas, she may the person of the weakest opinion - a person whose opinion is based on the probable vanity of trying to be against the crowd implying that the crowd decides which side she faces, not her own experience. Not too nice. @Kobojunkie, as a brother i would really love to see you discover yourself. When you do, it will show on your posts. Anyone who wishes to vividly see what I mean by this complex in her reasoning should click on her profile and click on "See this User's last posts". Observe the style of reasoning and you will see what I mean. @ Post Fashola has done great. Its one step at a time. Pronouncement before enforcement. He has scaled one hurdle, the pronouncement hurdle, let us give him kudos for that before we start nailing him (as Kobojunkie is trying to do) for the next stage which is not really due yet. Obrigado. |
@ GamineChic ?? as in . . .? @Topic Thank God some sanity is coming back to the thread. People like bastrin make me wonder if all human beings love a civilized society. |
All of you who say tha they see nothing in the video are just showing us how shallowminded you all may be. You all seem to forget that even a single slap is enough for her to claim 1BN in court. Do you all know what "Human Rights" means? As for what led to the brawl, eye-witness accounts will NAIL the RA and his Men. When i mean NAIL, I mean NAIL. Because SEVERAL eye-witnesses abound. Have you heard the latest new . . .that the RA is denying being in the convoy? The person you guys are trying to defend is already denying because what he did was wrong and he knows and here we have some disoriented individuals justifying what they see with their eyes. What can be worse than being unable to see the truth when it is glaring? Corosive:Dis you see when they were near the pickup when the navy guys was repeatedly slapping her? Are you fair-minded? or are you someone who chooses to see what you want? Even if she wriggled out of her clothes, do the Navy guys have the right to drag her to wherever their boss was? Well, if they did not, the "imprisonment" charge would not have added to the charges against the RA. I guess you haven't read the petition. Col Emeka Okere may have done same . . . . .though i cannot see any video evidence . . .and i must confess that if he did, his act is DISGRACEFUL! I DO NOT SUPPORT IT IN ANY WAY. Similarly, The act of the Naval Officers is not in any way justifiable. They have to face the wrath of the law. PS: Anyone who was involved in the beating and slapping of the people at the National Assembly can also institute legal action . . . .if and only if that is a true report. |
Same way Neslon Mandela was being "stupid" rather than brave when fighting against apartheid. At times i just wonder. People and opinions. |
Hi All, an online petition was created for this case: http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/index.php?option=com_philaform&form_id=7&Itemid=1 You can also see the video there. Seun: its time to add petition feature to NL so that petitions can be created here. |
In crime rate, yes . . .the blacks. In human rights abuse (in the apartheid era) yes. One of the worst in the world. In other aspects . . .NO! They have a very civilized system. Cape Town is more beautiful than London! |
I would. Yar'Adua is a human and laws are meant to bind on ALL MEN Now i can see why we are where we are. The Obama we celebrate will definitely not do that. |
On an earlier post, I made a comment that Gamine appears to be suffering from an identity crisis. Read an extract of my post here I have personally observed that identity crisis is a multi-dimensional issue that in one form, makes people to seek attention even when the attention they seek, brings them to disrepute. Speaking of a person who falls into this category, Gamine is one. Gamine has a general pattern of reasoning in her posts "Go in the opposite direction of the general view of the posters and create controversy so that a lot of attention will be directed to you. Even if it means saying that Obama ia a white man born in England!" You can agree with me that someone who argues with the most irritating and pointless views in not worth the time and attention. Let us forget about people who trade their dignity and sensibility for such derogatory attention. Concerning the Uzoma Okere issue, i wish to inform you all that all things being favorable, the RA may end up in prison. If the Police Officers who beat up Rodney King were sentenced to 30 months in jail, I don't see why we should be suing just for the RA to be sacked. Remember, Rodney King was drunk and over-speeding. He was guilty of a civil offense. Uzo was not in anyway found disobeying the law. Read This in detail http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_King Gamine, are you interested in liberating nigerians from the tenacious shackles of lawlessness? I really don't think. While the Obama-mania which swept across Nigeria is making people fed-up with the level of backwardness in Nigeria, a millitary man brutalised an innocent lady in broad daylight. Her offence? She allegedly didn't clear the way as quickly as she should for his convoy to pass in the midst of a typical VI hold-up. International media attention has been recieved on this matter and the case which is raising dust, has gotten to the president. Watch the video here and return back to finish reading this post. (You can press Ctrl on the keyboard while clicking to open the video in another window) http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-134234 While Nigerian were lamenting on how barbaric the act was, Nigerians overseas were pledging money to support NGOs to follow the case to the very end. On the contrary, Gamine appeared in the thread and in her usual manner, showed us how her own "change" was going to come Read her comments here: think this case is being Exaggerated jo There are worse things happening that need the Presidents attention So they dragged her cloths, na today? did they beat her sef? i didnt see any beating in that video What eye would not see the beating in that video? The eye of a fair-minded unbiased person who longs for change or the mind of a beclouded person who has no sense of judgement and would have loved to see the lady beaten to death? Maybe only death would mean to Gamine that there was beating in the video. Also read one of her later posts on this topic: So she Sues them to Court Whats the "Investigation" for? Also watch this I get Heads point on this though. I have always loved the Navy, because they are the calmest people i know and very respectable. Been through the Navy, i have uncle, e.t.c, e.t.c One shouldnt use this one man to qualify the rest https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-191814.256.html Now you see the Gamine who is a proponent of Change, finding it difficult to call a spade a spade because according to her post, she has an uncle in the Navy. Bias! Favoritism partiality and unsound Judgement! No wonder she gets furious when people talk about Obama and Change because it's not her kind of Change. Last time I checked, smacking someone is physical assault, punishable by a jail term. Same charges that RA Arogundade is facing. So you both seem like minded. Now you all can see the nature of the person (a person who exudes obvious disregard for the rule of law and fundamantal human rights) claiming that "Change" is by doing an not talking. If this your line of view (with respect to your apparent approval of the navy brutality) is how you want change to come about, may that kind of change be upon you and you generations. Gamine, Say Amen if you can boldly defend your comments. Avoid saying Amen if you have an identity crisis. Gamine, since you "did not see any beating in that video" permit me to ask that you be treated exactly as was portrayed in the video all the days of your life. Did i hear your heart skip? Ouch! Sorry Dear. I definitely will not wish that for my enemy. Watch your words as they might come back to devour you. L+G, OBAMA CHANGE! OBAMA CHANGE!! OBAMA CHANGE!!! |
L+G, I have personally observed that identity crisis is a multi-dimensional issue that in one form, makes people to seek attention even when the attention they seek, brings them to disrepute. |
@ DeepZone DeepZone:In some threads I may fall in line with your views but here, I plead to disagree. That is what we call lawlessness. How can a lawmaker not obey international safety laws? Can that happen in developed countries? Those airport officials deserve awards from NGOs. That is the kind of boldness we need. Bankole is not above international civil law. If that is how you would run a nation, i would quickly dissociate myself from you. Thanks. |
@ kool Kid kool kid:Driving on the wrong side of the road is a civil offense. Penalty? A fine. Physical assault is a criminal offense. Penalty? Can be up to a jail term - making you a felon for life. Tearing a Naval officer's uniform after her car was hit is Self-Defense. Penalty? None. Its even recommended to defend yourself. Clear? Last time I checked, robbers were dressing in military uniforms to rob so even if she blew and kicked him, or even took his gun and shot him dead, so long as she did it after the naval officer charged at her fiercely and hit her car, she'll walk out of the court room scot free. Not to talk of a case where she was whipped and assaulted first. You seem biased. Can you please identify yourself? |
@Lucabrasi, the fact that poster did not talk about the issues in other geo-political zones does not mean that the idea of building a power station that is meant to run on coal in Benue is rational. You always try and struggle not to talk about obvious injustices and i tell you, it makes you look very irrational. When something is glaring, you are expected to comment on it first, then comment on whatever you feel is right or wrong. I expected you to say something like "While it is not right to build . . . . ". Also, do the Ikembas and the Senators need to fight before the government will act with sound reasoning? Well, I am not surprised. Jews are always hated because of envy. We have the first indigenous power plant and that's no joke. As for your question as to why we have not achieved so many technological feats, an indigenous plant in the Nigeria of today, is quite a feat. Next time I really advice that you look at the subject from a rational point of view before you return to your point of view. By so doing, your statements will have some weight. You need to TRY hard to be more rational. Don't try to turn a blind eye to things that are very glaring. OK? |
L+G, I love Discovery Channel a lot but of recent, it seems National Geographic has been getting more of my viewing time. Outside love-vendor My Ride, Mythbusters and some other programs, I am almost always on NatGeo. Programs like Air Crash Investigation, Ancient Megastructures, Super Carriers, Earth Investigated, America's Hardest Prisons , Ultimate survival etc are just too nice to allow me maintain my former loyalty to Discovery Channel. I still watch Discovery Channel's Crimes That Shook The World, Wreck Rescue, Mythbusters, but i must confess i don't really like American Chopper and American Hot Rod. What do you guys think? Vote for you choice. |
L+G, An economic analysis was carried out and it was discovered that oil is not really a driving force in the growth of the economy of a nation. The most advanced countries in the world are not oil dependent economies. They are industrialists. Does it not surprise you guys that the G7 countries are not oil dependent countries? US France Canada Italy Japan UK Germany http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G7 If oil where what it takes to be a world Superpower then where is Venezuela on that list, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Nigeria etc? At-times when i reflect on the effect of oil on some economies, I feel it is actually better for nations not to have oil. Look at the fastest growing economies of the world, China and India. What are they using to drive the economy? Technology. That also happens to be the very area that we Biafrans are naturally gifted in. Oil will not make you launch space missions like the US has done. Oil will not make you design the best robots in the world like Japan does. Oil will not make you and engineering super-power like germany. Have you looked at the trends of the asian giants? Japan, S Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and of recent China and India. What do they have in common? A consistent trend of technological development that has lifted nations like Singapore from 3rd world to 1st world. So L+G, Biafra will not survive on oil. Biafra will survive on manufacturing, technology and science like the G7 nations. We are modeling our nations after the League of G7 Nations and not after Nigeria and Venezuela that are still very poor irrespective of their OPEC standing amongst Oil-Producing nations. If you ask how we intend to achieve this technological development, go to Alaba intentional or Nnewi and Aba and look around. Read Frederick Forsyth's (BBC correspondent) report on the biafran technological feats in the midst of the war and you will see that we can achieve it. Obrigado |
