ikeyman00:If that is the case, then we are all phucked! You know why? Vampires and Zombies live forever, ![]() |
Actually you have a poor understanding of the human psych. This is a public forum and as such people have come to expect to be able to read "threads". Besides, it is a common human nature to have curiosity. Obviously, people will click on it, if you didnt want people to, why make a thread in the first place? Now the joke is on you. ![]() |
Lagosboy:It is not about rhetoric. There are other factors, Iran actively arms those who seek the total destruction of the jewish state - Hezebollah. The concept of Islam calls for the killing of Jews amongst other things. etc. You see this problem is more than that. Finally, I for once do not believe him, the translation wasn't hyped. He pretty much mentioned those things. He even questioned the authenticity of the Holocaust. But then, he is a politician he can always deny his words later. |
davidylan: A very non-biased source!davidylan:If memory serves me right, he's been involve in some sort of wars in the past isnt? Besides, I think I remember the media reporting him as a hard liner and a no non-sense man. |
This comment kinda sums it up from me. Taken from Times online UK. No mention of the 1,400 year trail of blood left by Islam then? |
Lagosboy:That is just grasping for points now in my opinion. As much as I do take George Bush serious, he may have a point. Evidence will suggest those countries - Iran and Syria especially actively supports organisation that can be classed as a terrorist group. |
It was alleged he mentioned how he wants Israel to be wiped off the map, or pushed into the sea. Something he later denied and claimed it was taken out of context, or something along those lines. Now he calls the Israeli racist live on tv, I really do not see how this will help the relations between both countries. He's even gone ahead to call those who walk out on him as "Arrogant and disrespectful". Erm is it me, but it appears the irony is lost on him here? This is what the UN sectary general had to say: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has expressed dismay at the boycotts, and the speech, saying Mr Ahmadinejad had used his speech "to accuse, divide and even incite". |
This matter will only escalate. I hate to say, but the only thing most us can do is "Pray for peace and prepare for war". I really have this hunch that Israel will act whether America give their support or not. Besides, America will be forced to do something as they will like to retain their influence in the middle east. I just watched the walk out protest from the UN conference. This to me only strengthens the arguments that Iran current regime will **probably** use a nuclear weapon on Israel if the opportunity arises. |
The problem I see with M.I's style is that his rap is more suited to someone who is a "Battle rapper". This kind of style do not exactly suit the commercial shows and what not. It is the same problem Canibus have. Their style is a niche and will only be appreciated by people who are into "Hardcore rap". And with the way Naija rap stands, I think more people prefer the "Bubble Gum hip pop" instead of Hiphop rap. Hence why a lot of naijans love 50cent, Kanye and similar artist. |
rapjunkie:You didn't answer my question. My point all along was whether we can count on the figures been released as something accurate. Yet from the little discussion we have had so far, it is looking more and more like the figures do not match. What is stopping me from selling a few hundreds and I make claim of going gold? I have showed you how one of your indicators is severely flawed, what other ways do you know of please? |
I find it a bit odd that a nation that sits on one of the most abundant resources of crude oil in the world, needs nuclear energy. ![]() |
MrCrackles:I don't know about America, but the UK record sales are pretty much bang on target. It makes no sense for an artist to buy back their album. It is counter productive. |
People are so funny and ignorant lol. Certain sects of India do not eat cow and it is revered as a god of some kind. I am sure they will have a few things to say to most of us who eats beef here. People are forgetting that one man's meat is another man's[i] taboo[/i] Just because you see something as a pet, do not mean it is shouldn't be eaten by someone else. People get a grip. PS Anyone know where I can buy 404 in London? All these talks of dog meat is making me crave for one. ![]() |
Sky Blue: You must be my brother from another mother!Jakumo:Yes I have had it in the past. In fact, it is part and parcel of my culture. My family comes from a clan of Oogun [Ogun] worshippers in Ekiti. So yeah, I have had a few during the festivities of Oogun. The meat have a particular unique taste, which for me is hard to explain. The ones I had was just boiled a wild spice [growing in the nearby bush] and salt was just added. I can confirm that it taste better than KFC, Macdonalds and Burger king combined. ![]() Do I expect a few people to knock it? You damn right. They have all the right to. It do not in anyway make me less of a man. ![]() |
I am not disputing that, I just feel it is not a true reflection of sale. A million unit sold to the consumers is what platinum sales should be ideally, but as with most things in Nigeria, it works upside down. Rapjunkie, please explain this to me, what happens if a distributor pays an artist for 100k copies, but it somehow got burnt in fire [like alaba market did] Do you think that should count towards the artist real sales? Yeah he got paid, but ultimately he is the one losing ad that is like 100k copies denied to the fans. |
Kobojunkie:Don't knock it until you have tired it. ![]() |
tosinaded@:That is what I was trying to saying in my last sentence. If that is the case, it is not exactly a true reflection of going platinum in my opinion. I think the final figures should be what was bought by the end consumers. Sony, used this ploy to inflate the number of their playstation3 sales, however they quickly added that it was "shipped" and not sales. rapjunkie:Like I said, it is not a true reflection of sales. Again using Sony's playstation3 as an example, they once had about 3thousands units of playstation3 stolen from a distributor, do you think that should count towards the number of sales? The point is, not every CD or product abound a distributors warehouse will see the light of day. |
^^ On which platform? ![]() |
UK government offer 3k to people who are here illegally. I think it is paid directly to the asylum seeker on arrival at their home country. |
Nice one. I graduated away from psp though. I personally wont pay to for these things, but if you are in Naija, I guess man must eat.Good luck infoseye. |
What, every one of you backed out now on my offer? I thought you guys are good? ![]() |
Good selection of games you have there sir! ![]() I will be challenging you on Pro evo if you don't mind. We just need to set time and day soon. How are you finding GT5P? I haven't played mine in a while, the controls are too real [well it is meant to be] lol |
I made these point recenttly in another thread, and I thought it may be worthy of it own discussion. Artist are always claiming to be selling millions of copies in Nigeria. This is a good thing, in fact a very good thing. However, if we really examine these claims up close, it just do not add up. We are a nation that record keeping and tracking is almost non-existent, or should I say it is in its infancy. Piracy of all kind is very rife. Majority of people do not really bother buying brand new and original album, as these things get shared and downloaded. And we haven't develop a proper online monitoring system. Now can some one please who knows better explain to me as to how these platinum sales figures are achieved? Or better still a conclusive proof that it was ever achieved. Or do we rely solely on figures from the boy at Alaba market and the distributors at idumota/ebinpejo lane? |
i_laugh:You are welcome. Keep up the Ad homen arguments. Another trait of Naija mentality. ![]() |
ActiveMan:You need to take into consideration your audience and your goal. You need a very simple beat and a catchy chorus. Most great hits have these two elements. There is a few other things to consider, but I am not tired to make a lengthy post. |
i_laugh:My point all along is how you seem to have a problem with anyone criticizing your beloved country. Yet you seem to agree there is a problem with Nigeria, as caused by Nigerians. Your stance is more or less a inconsistent and somewhat ironic you see. All of these are evident in all the thread I have seen your post today. ![]() |
Lol. This is just funny. How will these be funded? Anyway, let us hope they can pull it off. ![]() |
i_laugh:My name is ElRazur. You know, acting obtuse on a forum is so 1980. ![]() Obviously, Nigerians will be the problem as Nigeria is incapable. If you see my people as the problem, why do you have so much problem with post suggesting an improvement in the mentality of our people, so as to aid progress overall? |
i_laugh:Once again, you ignored the questions, I wonder why. ![]() It makes no sense what you are saying am afraid. Why should we do an exchange of citizens? It makes no sense to the debate at hand. Are you saying Nigerians are the problems? Surely this is one of the many things I mentioned before and you appear to disagree. |
JayZ "retired" and came back. Perhaps he is employing similar tactics? |
Once again you are missing the point. You know, you really are displaying that Naija mentality I am talking about. Nigeria have good things and good side, however the bad eggs spoils the good ones is the popular saying. Once again, I put this question to you - Do you really not see anything wrong with how Nigeria haven't progressed much in over 40years? Malaysia had their independence around the same time as us, yet they have done more than we can ever dream off. How come they can achieve this and we some how cant? Besides, twisting my words is a bit weak and lame on your part, you know. |
