Funny enough, most of the posters in this thread have agreed The Game is better than 50. The people have spoken and quite frankly, I will take the opinion of about 9 people that The Game is better, than that of a single mad man who's head is buried in sand.

My prediction is that many more will come in to make a vote for The Game. While our resident unenlightened and ill informed will be the one vouching for 50. grin

The whole appease items looks more like something for Sango. But then, I really do not see how Sango came to involve in all of these. huh

@Sauron
Comparing a Biggie sound-alike with one hit to The Game? come on man did he snatch your girl
I maintain my points. 50 cent is a bubble gum hip pop rapper. He's got the market appeal record label are after - Got shot, comes from a dysfunctional family, history of crack dealing etc. The American market consumer loves the story of rag to riches and 50cents fits into this perfectly. How will he not sell?

Come on how many have taken a shot at his rapping ability? The list is as long as what not - Even a nigerian artist had a pop at him due his stupid ego. Almost all the real heavy weights and respect artist have dissed 50. Jada, Joe, The Game, Ja and a few others.

Like Jada said "Out of your crew, your flow is the weakest" "You aint got shot this time, what will you next album be about?" "A couple of pop songs and RnB garbage", Gosh I love Jada. Funny thing is 50 cent did exactly that, I mean what should we expect from him?

I mean what kinda of slowpoke takes a bet with Kanye and still lose? A wrapper with no freaking credibility like 50cent off-course.

Oh let's not forget how he raps that he is hard and will Bleep people up. Yet his chain wasd snatched right on stage in Africa, I see 50cent did shit about it. Instead, he pushed his bodyguard to go do the job, Jeez. An idiot dangling 100 grand worth of chain in front of africans that are hungry, that just goes to show his mentality. Strip me outside his so called gansterism and he is just as dumb, ignorant and stupid as those who think he is the greatest rapper ever!

Not you, just the whole Deny-the-problem-pass-on-the-blame tactics. It almost seems this is the tactic endorsed from the top or something. From Dora “the explorers” re-brand Nigeria by blaming the internationals move to this one, you almost get the sense that they are all working with the same basic plan, which is to deny the real problem and divert the attention of the people to the internationals in every way they can.
Oh sorry about that. It was directly after mine hence why I asked. smiley

Yeah I see what you mean and I share you views to be honest. When people start taking responsible for their own actions, perhaps we may have the inclination of moving forward.

I personally find the whole thing awkward. No one ever wonder why a visa was need to come into this places before. If memory serves me right, no visa was required to come to the UK from Nigeria [ not sure about the US though]. But as with many things, we took advantage of it an messed it up. Surely, it can only be right the Countries react accordingly and slap visas on people coming from Nigeria. Simple logic seems to have defy our people in power to be honest.

Foreign AffairsRe: Israel On Stand-by To Attack Iran! Recipe For 3rd World war? by ElRazur(op): 9:21pm On Apr 21, 2009
yeswecan:
By attacking Iran now, Israel is only defending herself. Obama can take the back seat if he chooses to, Israelite will defend themselves.  Go and read about the six days war (June 5, 1967 – June 10, 1967) when Israel defeated Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria. It will happen again.
I mentioned this before. [made a mistake calling it the seven days war.]

Here is a summary of it all

During the Six-Day War, the IAF demonstrated the importance of air superiority during the course of a modern conflict, especially in a desert theatre. Following the IAF's preliminary air attack, in which the IAF achieved near total tactical surprise (only four unarmed Egyptian training flights were in the air when the strike began [127]), it was able to thwart and harass what remained of the Arab air forces and to grant itself air superiority over all fronts; it then complemented the strategic effect of its initial strike by carrying out tactical support operations.

In contrast, the Arab air forces never managed to mount an effective attack. Attacks of Jordanian fighters and Egyptian Tu-16 bombers into the Israeli rear during the first two days of the war were not successful and led to the destruction of the aircraft (Egyptian bombers were shot down, while Jordan's fighters were destroyed during the attack on the airfield).

Numerous disillusioned Arab pilots defected with their MiGs to Israel prior to the outbreak of the conflict. Israel capitalized on this by test flying the MiGs to the maximum, thus giving Israeli pilots great advantage over their opponents.
All I can say is Allahu Akbar. grin

Most rappers sound like they are from Brooklyn because most of who they listen too are from the USA. They are clearly influenced by what they listen to. Please don't hate on them because of the accent sometimes it is subconcious. I don't think they are trying to be other then who they are. I mean some people when they talk it is very different from how they sing, would U criticize those  people too.
Rap Junkie gave you some few pointers already. Allow me to add a few to what he said!

Football was created in England right? While it is played all over the world, the footie game have been adapted to suit the style of its 2nd home. Brazilian football style is different from Spanish etc. Not everyone tired to play the English way.

I am a big rap fan and while I try to spit every now and then, I try to remain who I am and how I speak. To use an example closer to home Rugged man was influence by Run DMC, Dre, NWA and co. Yet he sounds more Nigerian and more real those some of those naija artist out there.

Mimicking others can be a good form of flattery, how ever it is nothing but imitation. Let us not forget that.

Shut the Bleep up and stop misinforming the public with your animal rants.
Wow. You started this with civility. How awesome. You really cannot see the irony here? You will rather shut me up instead of debating, May I refer you back to the point I made before and I stand by it. grin

~Sauron~:
The Game's best album cannot hold a candle to 50's best album.
50's worst album has sold more units than The Game's best album so what are we talking about here?
If 50 was wack, Dre/Eminem would never have signed him. How illogical can you get in one day with your constant heresy.
People like you are very funny. Album sale is not a true indication of how good an artist is. Olu maintain sold plenty of Yahoozee music than his rivals, I suppose in your book that means he is better than them?

You clearly have little understanding of how the indusrty work. 50 cent have been reportedly sign not because he can rap but because the parent company of Aftermath believes he is marketable.

Here are a few check-list I remember from the article.

50 cent marketable based on image and back ground:

Shot at before - Check

Can rap - check

Have a body ladies will love -  check

Have a story to tell about how he sells drugs and mum is a ho - check

ETC

You see, 50 fits in more as a commercially viable artist than a real artist. Take it or leave it.

~Sauron~:

I have explained that and going over the same thing again is something I am avoiding with you. You are to ignorant to see it.

~Sauron~:
U possess a myopic mind. . . . . .Go and read the meaning of 'analogy'
The gap between Canibus and Mode9 is the same as 50 cent and The Game.
He lived on 50's image in his debut album and it was no surprise his most popular songs featured 50 cent.
After breaking off G-unit, he has not sold one million copies on each of his subsequent albums.
No you are quoting half baked rap lines at me. Jeez, are you running out of words yet? Dude the one here with an ignorant mind is you. grin

How can he lived off 50's image when he is a better rapper than 50? Why 50, why not Dr dre, Or with your logic 50 is bigger than Dre? grin

If you really are knowledgeable then you would have realise that sales of hiphop music have declined in the US. So selling a million copies plus is still considered an achievement. And for the record he sold 1.5 million on Dr's Advocate
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_The_Game%27s_total_record_sales_figure_for_Doctor%27s_Advocate

That even goes against your claim. Like I said before, you seem to have a habit of  making these things up along as you go. Again it begs the question how knowledgeable are you? grin

~Sauron~:
SoundScan will tell you who is better.
Sales in hiphop sales is dipping, so it is affecting everyone.
http://gillmoreboy..com/2008/01/news-ny-times-analyses-hip-hop-sales.html

~Sauron~:
He is only 28?? What has age gotta do with it??
How old was Biggie/2Pac when they ruled the rap industry??
Think, oh wait, you don't do that. You just talk for the sake of it. He lost his mentor - Dre, He had beef with 50cent, he had personal problems etc. He is young and still mentally growing when all of those happened. He did very well to manage a platinum album in between and a label. Dude give kudos where kudo is due, but I guess that is a strange concept to you.

~Sauron~:
Gorilla Black woulda done better under Dr. Dre.
The Game had the best producer behind him with brilliant rappers to work with and he still FAILED.
You really are ignorant on a scary level. You claimed he was the weakest from Westcoast. I gave you someone who is really weak and from the west coast. Yet you resulted to a straw man's argument. Jeez. You are talking IF's and as far am concerned very irrelevant. Also if you really know your onions, Dre wont touch an artist like Gorilla black, unless plenty money and I mean plenty money is involved.

The Game had other doctors behind him and like he said, he got the same prescription. Not only did he went platinum, he defied all expectation. So what exactly is your point?

It is been fun dude. grin

You know another weakness of yours is trying to pick on errors in a post. Jeez dude you are a Grade A person!

~Sauron~:
I am saying getting a billion naira upfront does not make any meaning if the overhead cost outweighs the upfront.
You are looking at figures, i am talking about net spend.
An artiste gets $10,000 and his overheads are $9,000. . . . . .What is the profit??

There are different kinds of artistes, hombre.
The ones who do owambe kinda music make more money via shows than CDs.
Besides, Naija artistes are just coming of age in putting their music outside Nigeria unlike in the 90s when the songs don't leave the shores.

Highly irrelevant!!!
Bouqui(the gospel artiste) just told the media she spent 3.5 million on making a single video in London.
That is the overhead i am talking about. No amount of upfront can match that.
THINK!!!!
What an ignorant person! No artist will put out a show at a lost. Period. This is business and as such, no one is in it to make a loss.

Naija artists make more money from shows than they make on cd. Denying this is denying a well known truth.

something is not right here -  why is it that the Nigerians who live outside Nigeria contribute and comment with so much venon in them whereas the contributions of Nigerians living in Nigeria are always subtle- the Nigerians in Nigeria always see things good about their country, they are more hopeful  but the ones lost in the diaspora, speak with lost hope, their thinking is so rubbish and sickly that you often wonder if they ever see good food to eat - do they love Naija more than the people living in it or what is the matter? The frustration?
You seem to forget that your perception do not equate to facts. Perhaps you should therefore stop presenting them as facts. As most will tell you, we love Nigeria in our own ways. Living in NIgeria or outside Nigeria do not make a difference to how patriotic we are to the nation.

i_laugh:
They are the ones who compare Nigeria with everywhere they have been, they are the ones who comes out first to rubbish anything planned, they are the ones who only see corruption, they are the ones who see failed facilities, they are the ones who knows when government policies will fail or work - they are the all knowing goons scattered and battered with frustrated life all over the globe.

They are the ones who curse the country, they are the ones who knows what is good, what is their problem, can they just shut up and let nigeria be?
You see from my brief encounter with you, you seem to have a problem with anyone constructively criticizing nigeria. Why is that?

The problem with Nigeria is that we have had over 40years to get things right and time and time again, we have showed that we really do not care about the good of the naiton, but our selfish need born out of greed and ingrained corruption.

If people have been abroad, it hurts them to see that we cannot even provide basic things needed in this day and age. Surely, it is only human nature to ask questions as to why we cannot achieve such things in our very own country.

Once again you displayed a big irony in your post. You do not want people to criticize nigeria constructively - this is your 2nd thread from yesterday saying something alone similar lines. This is precisely one of the problems we face and one of the factors that have hindered our development.

Do you expect us to not say anything on a public forum for god sake? If you know what a forum means, then you wont be quick to try and shut people up. It is a typical naija mentality and it sucks to be honest.

ElRazur I agree with you totally. I have had the privilege of talking with some Nigerian artistes and most their income comes from shows and corporate sponsorship. Regarding the sales of CDs, that is just like a marketing strategy to promote the artists brand. What usually happens is that the artist sells his Master copy to people like T-joe. It is people like T-joe who actually makes most of the money off of CDs not the Artist.
Using ~Sauron~'s logic you intelligent is almost non-existent for making such point! **rolleyes**

That is exactly what I am saying, but somehow he just do not understand. I know a few artist that have had millions of naira equivalent upfront before a shows. Also, Sauron is forgetting that most of our artist just mime to CD without need for much props. Yet he makes a claim of massive over head cost etc. Even if there is a massive over head cost, the artists are still making a gain.

Looking up on the history of music in Nigeria, our artists makes more money on shows than cd. Fact.

Personally, I feel he is just one of those people who cannot really string up a few sentence without showing a sort of complex. In his case, "I am right you are wrong and there is nothing you can say about it complex" Gosh that is a very bad complex to display on a forum.
