@I_laugh. Cool. I will ignore the cheap shot. ![]() Once again I see you refuse to answer the other question. Here is my reason for asking - If you lived in the UK for seven years, then it would be no surprise to you how there is respect for rule of law, there is accountability and public fund mismanagement are frowned upon. We are yet to have these things in Nigeria, we are more or less operating a rudimentary form of government and it is compounded by the "naija mentality" we have. You see, things are really bad in Nigeria that we really need to go back to the drawing board in other for us to move forward. Let us see a respect for rule of law and order, let us see more accountability, let us see more openness, let us see that 68million dollars was budgeted and every penny is accounted for. Until we see these things, people will be very sceptical about alot of things we want to do. Also, you are aware of what is called a Credit check here right? Now imagine the world bank doing a credit check on Naija, We will never pass because of our previous history of unaccountability etc. The point is, you really cannot ignore the problems and want a solution. You need to address the problems to arrive at a good solution. |
I would have made a detailed post, but then you never come back to post a reply when needed. ![]() Couple of questions though. Do you think it is acceptable for people to get rich from projects that are meant to serve the interest of the public and funded by tax payers money? Have you ever ventured outside Nigeria for over a year or more? [Trust me, it is relevant to the debate] |
Hey Joy girl, Is that the one? Check on you tube. That is only help I can offer. ![]() |
If you let people know your budget, then it would help better. ![]() |
seges:During the 90s I am sure World bank was a major backer or sponsor of the DFRRI programes. This lead to several villages having water, roads etc and subsidised fertilizers and seeds. If you live in the city, it wont be noticeable, but if you travel alot and read some of the road signs, you will tend to see something along the lines of "Bleep project supported by world bank" |
SkyBlue, I think we are saying the same thing here mostly. Only that in different language. Like I said, his ideas are good, but he needs to back it up. Which is more or less what you are saying. ![]() |
He's got good ideas. However, he needs to elaborate more on the government's plan and unveil any plans/initiatives asap. For those of you saying he lacks vision, well I disagree. If oil runs out today in Nigeria, we will be left behind and forgotten like Sudan, Eritrea and those sub-Saharan countries with no resources. Again his ideas are good, but he needs to back it up. |
It may be worth knowing that Isreal attacked Syria late last year in an air-strike. It was aimed at what was supposedly a nuclear site. Israel did it with surprise, and no one expected it. I really cannot rule the possibility of IDF attacking iran out. |
Let your demo speak for you, instead of asking for record deal on a forum. It will make you look desperate. You probably do not want to project such image as record label will take advantage of your desperation. Can you upload a few tracks of this your group? |
Done! Added you as a friend. One of the disadvantage of having many games is that as time goes by, one will require a HD upgrade. My ps3 was bought a week after launch from Japan, hence I ended up with the 20gig version. 20gig fills up quickly and I have to upgrade the HD and install a 250gig on to the ps3. It was relatively easy to do and from there just backed up my games. ![]() |
I just tend to buy them and not sell them on, unless the game is absolute garbage like Kane and Lynch. [oh my god, that game is so rubbish, it just feels rushed and unfinished. Dont even get me started on the controls] I will add you to my PSN right away. You should see a friend request from me. How are you finding Devil may cry 4? I hate the corridors and portals lol. You have very good games there, the GTA is loved by many and RE5 is awesome from what I have seen. ![]() |
IFELEKE:A weapons convoy was attacked in Sudan by air strikes out of no-where. This was during the recent Israelis-Palatines war. It was widely reported that Iran was arming Hezbollah, by taking advantage of the porous borders of sudan to get weapons to other sources where it reaches Egypt and then Palestine. The strike was again widely reported to have been carried out by Israel. Also a report from their intelligence suggest that they are responsible for the strike. Now you are probably wondering what is these go to do with your question. Well according to what I read, the attack was more or less a practice by Israeli IDF pilots to see how well they will do in a long range strike. Dont forget that Iran is a bit far from Israel. If the IDF can strike in Sudan without a single loss of life, it will be highly possibly that Israel will attack Iran. You just have to take into account how much they both detest each other. IFELEKE:That is the probelm. One can justify almost anything, whether it goes well with the rest of the world is another thing. Bush justified the invasion of Iraq on the pretence of WMD, yet none is yet to be found to date. Oh the attack on Entebbe just showed how fearful I feel. And to me, it illustrate how clinical and precise the IDF are. From what I can gather [based on my understanding and what I read] Iran do not consider themselves to be Arabs an d even if this goes out as an all out war, Saudi Arabia will probably support the American, as they cannot stand the Iranian current government too. Yes I agree with you, Israel have a right to exist, and so is Iran's right to science and technology, perhaps the question is which one outweighs the other? |
Let me raise the bar here. If you feel you can battle rap. Upload your mp3 accapella here and I will create a beat for it from scratch and upload it here. Let the members then decide who is really good. Half of you are probably not as good as you claim around here. |
~Sauron~:I see you fail to defend anything, but resort to being dismissive. A bad trait in a debate. I can easily dismiss your points and tell you how rubbish every single one of the are, but what will it achieve? ![]() Why do I have to pick up one album, before a particular time? Why not just pick up anyone I want? I guess you are indirectly accepting some of his album is wack then? Good, at least we may agree that he makes wack album, based on that logic off course. Ja rule and 50 cents, erm what is that got to do with the price of Tea in China? For your information, believe what you want, but the fact of the matter is Artist do take a break to do other things. For the record, Ja rule is doing other things. Tactical what? Oh the irony. Seriously, the irony is on you. I remember saying "Measuring yard" no one says you are comparing 50 and Germane. However, I am saying your "measuring yard" i.e your example is wrong. I think you will find, I am using my brain and personally, I am not gonna sink that low and start a war of words with you. To make it clearer to you, if you are comparing the Gap, I personally feel mentioning Canibus as a representation of 50 is flawed. Compare/illustrates likes for like you see, Apple aint the same as Orange. Even worse is illustrating The Game as Mode 9. Can you not see how flawed you are here? When you can make a decent reply to some of the reasons I feel The Game is better than 50, perhaps we can have a civilized discussion? The Game dropped 3 albums and several mix tapes before and after that. He is only 28 and in my opinion, he's achieved a lot despite all odds against him. How many people get dropped by Dre and still make it? Eve was signed to Dre label, but got dropped without no explanation, How many impact have eve made since? Not as much as The Game, Perhaps this is due to his all round goodness that most rapper lacks. You claim he is the weakest to come out of West coast, erm Are you suggesting "Gorilla black" is better than The Game? Haha the would be funny. Even Dr dre says and I quote "The Game puts West Coast back on the map. Period." Surely, one must be good to achieve such feat? |
I don't know about you guys, but if someone can afford a Ps3 in Naija, then buying a game should not be a problem. |
IFELEKE:Well I agree with you. Israel have the right to exist without fear of a nuclear attack from another nation. But, we may need to look at the bigger picture here. Iran haven't attacked anyone apparently in over 300years [not counting the internal problem like the Islamic revolution], so what are the chances they will attack Israel? For all we know Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may just be blowing hot air like North Korea's Jim Kim and may not do anything? After all, some will argue this is world politics and people will say and do anything to gain a certain reputation. While Israel shoundn't wait to find out, they need to exercise caution as this may lead to more and more aggression towards them and ultimately drives us all to a third world war. Your question is a tricky one, I want world peace and I personally do not feel comfortable with the whole thing. |
I must admit I glanced through. If there is a physical evidence, then let the book be thrown and the maximum penalty sort after by the CPS. Politics shouldn't be this way in Nigeria. This is 2009 for God's sake. |
A written confession is not good enough in my opinion. If he can provide a link and proof between the government and the money he was allegedly paid, then I will take it serious. What is not say this is all a smear campaign? This is Nigeria we are talking about you know. |
As much as I agree with you, allow me to play the Devil's Advocate here. What do you say to people who feel Iran have the right to pursue Science and technology too? Oh let's not forget that there are evidence suggesting that Israel do have illegal nukes as well. [Remember the Israeli engineer that exposed the Nuclear sites of Israel back in the 80s 0r 90s I think?] |
generalzango:It is ironic coming from you! Just look at your post, it is riddled with errors and "Text speak English"!! Jeez, a classic case of a log in your very own eye. You cant even spell illiterate. ![]() This is why Nairalanders are so funny and very ignorant. |
ikeyman00:If that is the definition of corruption [which it isnt] then I urge Nigerians to be as corrupt the Chinese way. Just imagine the amount of things we will achieve if we have to do things the China man way? ![]() |
~Sauron~:I have tried as much as I can to stay out of debates like this but I must be really weak today. Here is another perspective to your post: People hate him [The Game] because of his Success without 50cent, G-Unit and Dre. As a result, he will never get credit for that. 50cent in my opinion is not in anyway a good rapper and lyricist like The Game. Below are a few reason. I never liked the style of 50cent from day one. He is more or less what is now considered to be "Hip Pop". How many people have taken a shot at his lame rapping style? Joe, Nas, Jada just to name a few. How many people have taken a shot at The Game's skill? Well, not as much people have on 50. One rapper famously said, his flow [50's] is the weakest in whole of the G-unit camp. This I agree with. Please go and listen to[i] 100bars and running.[/i] The Game showed what he is made up of and that was just the tip of the ice berg. Please listen to his last album and while it appears to have been rushed - i.e several songs added to appeal to everyone. He still managed to show what he can do on tracks like "Money" "Spanglish" He even did a collaboration with an Artist a lot of people thought it would be impossible - Common - On the track called "Angel" To show you how flexible and very adaptable The Game's lyrical powers are [a distinct feature lacking in 50] he was able to rap from the perception of Biggie, Easy E and Tupac in the same track. I believe this track is called "Never gonna forget you". To use the common things used to judge how good a rapper is, The Game eats 50 cents for breakfast. 50 cents lacks little or no punchline when it comes to using one. One of my favourite is this "Hate me or love me. I'm like HIV, you cant get rid of me". I am still finding a 50's punchline that will top that. Check out his collaboration with Ice cube on the same album - "state of emergency" once again The Game showed he is as good as the legends of west coast rap. Let us appreciate good things, 50 cent is a bubble gum rapper and on comparison with The Game, The Game is a better all rounder in my opinion. Even Kanye west makes it on my list before 50 and Kanye is even more of a bubble gum Hip pop rapper. To use Canibus as a measuring yard, just shows how little your rap knowledge is. Canibus is a legend, 50cent is not. That is like comparing Primate Olobayo to what Jesus did, that is just wrong. ![]() |
![]() The music industry is good news I guess. With Olu maintain making Arab money, it must be good. ![]() On a more serious level, I think I_laugh have good intentions, but like most average naijans, they do not like criticism even if it is a constructive one. |
Perhaps people should keep healthy. Being fat is a drain on the British economy, especially the NHS. Fat people are more likely to die young, have heart problems and other complication - diabetes et al. I see no reason why a company should not profit from it. A fat person on a plane increase the amount of overall weight hence leading to low fuel efficiency. It can only be right the company charges them in my opinion. |
Hi. I'm ElRazur on the PSN. I am wondering if people are willing to share their PSN ID here and we can add each other as friends. It would be nice to know what games you have too, perhaps we can challenge each other. My games are as follows: Ridge racer7 [An awesome game to play online. Almost no lagging whatsoever.] Pro evo 2009 [It is okay, but needs improvements] Killzone 2 [One of the best shooter on ps3. Period. Motorstorm [High Octane racing game, however only played this like 4times since I bought it] Call of Duty 4 [ Another good shooter and very realistic] Rainbow six Las vegas [Awesome shooter. Plenty of fun] Rainbow six Las Vegas 2 [The game gets batter and very on online] Devil may cry 4. [A good game, but I just never got the hang of it. I am still in the first few stages] Resistance 2 [If you played the first one and love it, then this is a must have] Gran Turismo 5 Prologue [Vey good graphically and game play is very realistic. It may not be to everyone's taste though] Heavenly sword [One of the best game to grace and utilise the potentials of the ps3. I couldn't put this game down and had to take a few days off work to really enjoy it. Awesome story line and intense gameplay. The game had me fighting over 100 enemies at once and the ps3 never lagged or slowed down. It goes to show how powerful that machine is] Uncharted: Drake's fortune. [An enjoyable game with loads to unlock. I am playing it all over again as Sony only implemented the trophy system into it lately] Pro evo 2008 [From last year.] The following are on my Hard drive: WarHawk. Every ps3 fan needs this. If people here are intrested, I can host up to 16 players. Perhaps we can form a clan and battle? Pixel Junk racer. Tekken online [Needs no introduction.] |
dayokanu:That is what pirates do, Hijack ships and make a gain from it. I think NO RANSOM should be paid. The payment of one ransom will lead to more hijacks and more demands for "negotiable" ransom. |
rapjunkie:Yeah I see your point. Like you said, we need to disagree to agree. I personally do not feel the music. I don't drink, so that means I wont be dancing to this song a long time - and damn, am a fine dancer. lol. ![]() |
i_laugh:I_Laugh, I will like to think you are a logical person. What he is saying is that, it is perhaps no feasible to have such project since it will probably make little or no difference due to existence of other forms of travel. Yes even it was built, it would be used but it still do not mean it is of economic value. Do not forget that this is a loan and needs to be paid back. You need to factor into consideration the lack of "maintenance culture" [one of the main reason our power sector died] and a few other things. Is there any other plan/funds for the maintenance, security and running of the rail system? You see, building something like that need a whole lot of planning, it is just that people are not convinced about the plans been made in my opinion. |
The Israeli military is preparing itself to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran's nuclear facilities within days of being given the go-ahead by its new government.Full story here. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article6115903.ece I do know what to make of this. It may also make an interesting read to check out the comments left on the news article. Israelis forces are considered as one of the best in the world, however Iran aint no slouch either. If this happens, there is a possibility is may lead to wider problems as China and Russia will be dragged into all of these and will result in a collision path with the USA. A recipe for potential 3rd world war? Should Israel stand aside and allow Iran to carry out its nuclear objective [even though they claim it is for peace] bear, in mind that it was alleged that the president of Iran once stated that he wants Israel wiped out of the mapped or pushed into the sea. The UN have showed over time and time again that it is a toothless bull and wont really do much about Iran, should this be left for Israel to carry out then even without the support of the US if needed? |
blacksta:i_laughs clearly disagree. I dont know how the funding works, but I think we may have to pay back this money right or is it a grant? PS Our power sector is the equivalent of UK's NHS, always needing "more funding" ![]() |
I_Laugh. I put this to you: Do you or Do you not see a problem here? ![]() |
i_laugh:This is not about negative comments, it is about the reality of things. Do you not think I want my own country to improve or get better? I will be mad and anti-Nigeria not to want that. You see the problem are these, based on past histories of how mismanagement and embezzlement have happened without much of the perpertrator ever brought to proper justices, it is safe to make such assumptions. If you disagree, please tell me what have changed much in terms of how we clinically deal with corruption. As with most projects that are started with Good faith in Nigeria, a greater percentage of it do not exactly achieve their goals. Instead, what we tend to have are a few people who got rich in the process. Remember the allocation that was made by the past administration to "improve the power sector" [again], whatever happened to that one? Didnt a report carried out by Yar'dua regime showed that most of these monies was unaccounted for, even some of the site that was designated for these projects is still covered in bush? You know the point is, we cannot ignore previous history just like that, there will be people like me who will be sceptical as a result. The power sector in Nigeria, needs improvement no doubt, however a massive lump sum from world bank will not exactly solve our problem, due to the way things had/have been in Nigeria. You can pump money all you want into it, but provided we have this sort of mentality - Getting rich at the expense of others, then we have a long way to go. PS If there is anything I say and you still disagree with, please feel free to call me on it. I will re-explain myself again. |
