Humility017: Ex-PSG Super Kid Ogbeche To Rohr: I Want To Play For Nigeria At 2018 World Cup
Willem II striker Bartholomew Ogbeche is hoping his form in the Dutch Eredivisie will earn him a recall to the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup. The former Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid was one of the youngest players in Nigeria's squadlist at the 2002 World Cup, and featured in group matches against Argentina and Sweden.
''I do not expect anything, I stay calm and keep my feet on the ground, I just have to work hard, and if there is an invitation I would be very happy,'' Ogbeche told FOX Sports. ''I still hope for Nigeria to call me. That's not a secret, I'm a professional footballer and that's still a dream. ''It would be great, but if it does not come, I'm not disappointed, then I just keep focusing on Willem II and I try to continue to help. ''We have to believe in our chance at the World Cup, I hope to be there.'' Back home in Nigeria, everyone is paying attention to Bartholomew Ogbeche with the striker scoring 7 goals in his last four matches, including a hat-trick against VVV Venlo two weeks ago.

OMANBALA1: Anybody familiar with Victor Moses knows he is very selfish and by this I mean holding the ball for too long and wanting to dribble everybody ,score himself and become the hero. I cant direct you to a particular game but he do this all the time. Against Algeria in Uyo and Cameroon in Nigeria it was obvious. He over carries the ball and dont know when to release the ball. In Uyo against Cameroon he denied Ighalo a golden chance because of his complacency. VicMo is a selfish player in the colors of Nigeria just like Okocha was but this doesnt mean they cant play good football. Boss,take it or leave it,moses influence on d pitch against Cameroon home and away made us to cart away four points from d Cameroonians, if not for him I doubt if we would av qualified,cos it was those two matches DT sealed our qualification Yes he has more "freedom" in eagles Jersey Dan Chelsea...maybe u re now cin d "freedom" as a negativity, I don't knw and beside.. Same tin for iwobi,he plays with freedom when playing for eagles Dan arsenal,though d latter doesn't hold on much to d ball Dan former. Having said dt,generally moses style for eagles hasnt affected d team negatively Not DT if he had played a one touch football for eagles we would av won with a wider margin or played better,all in all,victory is what matter most. |

Three of them can play LB as well. You are missing the versatility part Madam,forget versatility, taking 5/6 players playing d same role is counter productive, we re not going to Russia to play with wing backs/defenders only!, I sense rohr might drop eida aina/ebuehi,most esp if we are to adopt d new 3-5-2 formation in our group matches and hopefully beyond d group stage too |

It is a good advantage that we can still dorminate and win match without the big players. That is How a team shoud be. Its a gud sign no doubt... But d fact remains,for every match won under rohr,both players av been instrumental to eagles victory If dey re both fit and available for selection,rohr wouldn't gamble starting dem on d bench irrespective of d formation, I still stand on my point,dey re indispensable |

ChrisKels: I mean u no disrespect bro but I shouldn't be arguing with u. Onazi is indispensable and we trashed Argentina in his absence? VicMo is indispensable and we av been playing and winning in his absence . U kinda naive, sorry to say Dat. Whoever his absence ain't felt when he is off the pitch isn't indispensable. The person his absense shakes the team is Mikel and no one else. Be reasonable. We av been winning and playing... Like aw many matches?...just a friendly against Argentina? Mention any serious match we won wout onazi or moses in d starting line up under rohr U re saying winning as if we av played close to 100matches under rohr |

Lol bro Onazi ain't indispensable? Hope u understand what that word means. The only indispensable player we have now is Mikel Obi, it's even debatable Onazi,ekong,balogun,Mikel,Moses,Ndidi and to some extent IWOBI/SIMON...re INDISPENSABLE in rohrs team barring loss of form/bad injury to dem,dey re sure starters anytime any day irrespective of d formation |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by elyte89: 12:43pm On Dec 04, 2017 |
ChrisKels: This line ups can pull us outta that group stage with ease, barring any form of injuries and dip in form;
Against Croatia and Iceland ;
Uzoho
Shehu Ekong Balogun Idowu
Ndidi Mikel iwobi
Moses Onyekuru Ighalo
* Mikel as a CM gives the midfield balance as octopus Ndidi does more of the shielding playing as the DM while Iwobi with his incisive, defense-splitting passes plays ahead of them in the AM position. Mikel playing centrally will also help to annul the effect of Modric and whoever plays alongside him.
* The choice Moses is a no brainer while the choice of Onyekuru is because he is a tricky winger and can easily commit Loveren and Co. He promises goals and assists unlike most other wingers. He does well to fall back too when the team concedes possession.
* The choice of my back four is a no brainer though if Ebuehi and or OLA prove to be improvements (crosses while galloping tro and fro the line, and positional play) on Shehu at the right full back, Shehu sits.
Against Argentina probably with 6points already in the bag;
Uzoho
Awaziem Balogun Ekong
Moses Ndidi Mikel Ogu/Joel Idowu
Ighalo Iwobi
* I chose Uzoho ahead of every other goalkeeper including Enyeama because I don't think Enyeama is coming back. But if he does come back (meeting the criteria needed), then he gets my nod, but until then, I'm working with what is available.
* Moses plays RWB for me because he is about the best in that position right now in the world. And he can still effect the game playing there. Lol he would be up against tired D'maria and whack Rojo.
* Ighalo and Iwobi can do it upfront like Nacho and Iwobi did it in the friendly. It won't be bad also if Kelechi starts ahead of Ighalo for set pieces and the synergy between him and iwobi. I have a selection headache here.
This is my opinion and it's open for constructive criticism No ONAZI in ur starting line up..very unrealistic, peeps here shld realize DT onazi is d fulcrum of DT midfield whether u like it or not,an onazi will start ahead of any oda midfielder in d team Any formation wout onazi in d line up is just like a line up wout fielding d GK position.Onazi is indispensable in rohrs team |

forgiveness: If we are dreaming of winning the WC next year or this year, the opponents we face should not matter. We play our game one at a time regardless of who we face.
Therefore, we need the right players to fulfill our task and to pick the best and right players fit for the task, sentiments must be eliminated to the bearest minimum.
This is how I will pick my 23 players.
Gk
Vincent Enyeama Dele Aiyenugba Dele Ajiboye

Troost Ekong Leon Balogun Chidozie Awaziem Brian Idowu Tyrone Ebuehi Elderson Echiejile Shehu Abdullahi/ Ola Aina

Kelechi Iheanacho Odion Ighalo Obafemi Martins
