Cutting off fuel subsidy and unifying exchange rate should increase spending on basic amenities and infrastructures.
How do we even expect Nigeria to grow when our annual budget is around 14b dollar with fuel subsidy compare to that of Texas budget which around 147b dollar. We seriously need more revenue not wasting little one we have on fuel subsidy and defending naira.

See the way they are rubbishing the initiative. The loan is not meant for everybody. They are sometime one will find it difficult to pay tuition fee,you can always go for loan not that one will use loan to run a course of 4 to 6years.

You cant be comparing US revenue with ours. The only product FG is subsidising is been taken advantage of by the smugglers. For me,I know the next few months would be tough but we all need to make that sacrifice for once. In 2012,many people came to protest against subsidy removal but now they are regretting their action because they realised they were used. This shouldn't happen again.
Fuel product without subsidy =500
Fuel with subsidy =185
Calculated subsidy to be paid on a lt = 315
And we were told we consumed 60m litres daily which I believe is false.
315 * 60m=18b daily on Subsidy. Calculate what 18b will turn to in 6months or a year.
What is our yearly revenue? No wonder we always borrow and when we borrow we will still need to service our debt.With Subsidy and servicing of debt how do you expect the govt to fund projects? I'm not saying our govt is not corrupt. Corruption is another reason most people are against subsidy removal. It needs to be dealt with for removal of subsidy to yield go result in no time.
If my calculation is right,if subsidy continues,Nigeria will fall in the same situation with Venezuela.

In Benin republic, people only buy smuggled petroleum products from Nigeria. The fuel in their filling stations are not subsidized hence, they result to buying subsidized products which smugglers smuggle from Nigeria. They display this product by road side and they do it openly.

I think Benin republic government are great beneficiary of this subsidy removal. It will eradicate selling of petroleum products by road side.

Nigeria should get ready for influx of Africans into Nigeria. Subsidy removal in Nigeria won’t affect Nigeria only. It goes beyond.
