Is it painful that over 200 girls are abducted and yet not rescued 120 days after? I hope one of the daughters of members of the presidency is abducted and not found for 120 days, then they understand threshold of pain. |
manny4life: Bottom line is that there's disagreement between parties about the value of the land = to the equity contribution of the project. I think the FG should pull out because if a piece of land is sold 10x than the real worth, then it's not really worth anything. The FG position isn't the value of land, but the value equitable to their contribution. You need to first of all understand the phases of a project , there are roughly 6-7 stages, and yes all the stages require funding. at least from Project design, read the report once again, i have a feeling you did not read it. Please developmental issues should be devoid of politics. From your tone, it seems you are interested in makng political statements. If me and you in a joint venture want to set up a pure water manufacturing coy, and i am contributing a building and you are contributing the machines, to avoid disagreement, certified independent assessors can quantify the monetary value of my building, that way my equity contribution is determined. |
manny4life: You and I know that land in Nigeria and particularly Lagos lands are over-inflated, an actual land of N5million becomes N50million particularly when they know it's a govt project. Both parties may not agree and any partner willing to take up the portion of the FG will question the same. As for Tolram group, how can they spend $60million on a project that's not taken off. NPA has a good argument. It's a partner in the project and should question issues like thins. I hope they resolve it soon because it sure may hinder the progress of the project.Forget about what you and I think. We have land and estate valuers, so an independent professional land valuers can be employed to estimate that land. If the FG refuses to co-opeate with the assessment of an independent land valuer, then it simply does not want the success of the project, it is a clog in the wheel, that should be pushed out in every means possible., it is very annoying to be told value of land is a problem in such worthwhile project. As for Tolram group, you have not seen the scope of work done so far on hundreds of hectares, so how do you start doubting from your computer it is not possible to have spent $60million ? |
ademoladeji: Well, I wanna bliv you're a nigerian to know that our leaders have had most of all these pre-planned. We all know how things panned out during our days in schools. Fine! there must be action for a counter-action to take place. Buh I want you to know that all these efforts made by the citizens do not actually affect the decisions of the FG. We all live in a world of Naijawood where all plays r directed by Political factor. We've been highly politicised. This is simply conspiracy theory, and it is a school of thought that takes the path of least resistance,I disagree with you. It is wrong in all front to say ALL efforts made by citizens do not actually affect the decisions of the FG, please discard that thought process. |
brownlord: Ok. which party they control Lagos state again? You are here again with your meaningless rant, if only you care to read and understand the problem, you just might be able to make an objective statement. Education has failed you ![]() |
So it is the NPA footdragging? They just might continue to investigate the value of the land contributed by LASG for the next 5 years, and at the end nothing gets done . I will implore the LASG to seek for a means to take up the portion of the FG (NPA) if actually that is possible. How long should it take to value a land for goodness sake ? There are thousands of independentt land valuers, employ one and get the job done. |
Lucasbalo: I am all for voting. Nigeria is a peculiar place for democracy because of the money influence. I wish you are right. I don't vote in Nigeria because I live outside but I never miss a vote here . I even vote absentee here if I am traveling outside the country. If true democracy is followed in Nigeria, maybe things will be better. The democracy in Nigeria is government of the few , by the few and for the corrupt elites.Great, you have spoken well. i have great reservations for massive revolution because of its high failure rate. Infact Jerry rawlings revolution failed initially, dont forget he seized power twice, after the set of people he handed over to after his first revolution were more corrupt than the ones he cleared out of the way. Ghana's economy is suffering greatly now allegedly because of one Mahama that Ghanians voted for, instead of a more worthy candidate. Mahama was an accidental candidate who stepped in after the president of Ghana died suddenly. There must be lot of Ghanians who sat down at home on election day believing God will select a president for Ghana ![]() |
Lucasbalo: Voting in Nigeria doesn't solve the problem either because 99 percent of this politicians are corrupt. It's the case of lesser of two evils. I talk about revolution in the sense of what Jerry Rawlings did in Ghana by executing five former heads of states. That clean for a while. That's what I have I mind. Voting for corrupt politicians sure won't solve the problem.Dont underestimate voting my brother. Our politicians are a reflection of we the followers, infact most of us are way more corrupt than our leaders, we are only complaining because we are not tall enough for our hands to reach the national cake. The Jerry rawlings option might not happen in the next 200 years , the realistic option is to try to select the better from the pool of "nonsense" leaders we have and put massive pressure on them to perform. Try and vote in the "jerry rawlings" Voter apathy is dangerous,be more involve and care to effect a change in your own little way. |
Lucasbalo: Can not argue with u on that but we still have to be optimistic. Can hide here and pretend that Nigeria is doomed but I love Nigeria so much I hope things turn around positively for good. So many Nigerians have no where to turn to but Nigeria. That's why I call for massive revolution to cleanse the land of the maggots feeding on her.Optimism without any concrete step is hallucination. ![]() Massive revolution not necessarily needed, let's just do the basic things and not to leave it to God .Simple things like going out to vote on election day, God will not thumb print ballot papers, he already gave us thumbs When i hear God will elect good leaders for us, my heart shivers coz how then will someone try to rationally select a good candidate from the pool of candidates when he already believes it is God's work. ![]() Let us care to know our immediate leaders, and put them under pressure or through protest. Let us try to understand how things work and not simply say "it is Gods work", My people will say ise oluwa ni ema tuwo(It is God's work dont try to understand it) (research and knowledge acquisition is very key )Most nigerians are highly intellectual, but intellectually lazy, and it shows in the very common conclusive statement "it is God that will help us". Since we believe it is God that will help us, we thus dont take things seriously, since we believe virtually all things is not our primary responsibility but Gods responsibility |
Lucasbalo: You have a point but we still have to hopefull. Youths here in Chicago are like that but some of them are serious too. I pray to God for the country to rise up.We have been praying to God for the country to rise up since 'forever",. God has answered our prayer a LONG LONG TIME ago , but we have refused to do our part of the bargain. My God can not be fooled, what majority do is simply wishful thinking. Many countries with half of their population atheist are even progressing while ours is showing no sign of improvement |
ademoladeji: Fight against gini? Solution to kini? Babe, this is naija! We know how things work here. Abiola died n we protested! Do you know how may of my friend that were shot by the military? 2 of dem got their limbs amputated. We all knw what happened during the Occupy9ja... The NLC n TUC were bribed n we were forced to accept N97 for petrol... The chibok girls.... The Diariz God.... The truth of it all is that we love our dear lives n can only pray individually for God's protection coz you can't fight for or against the government. Our opinions no fit count so let's juz smile n make ourselves happy. This post made 2 minutes after i made mine is an example of "everything should be left to God" syndrome i stated earlier. In all the examples he gave, he forgot that if people had not protested heavily through occupy naija petrol price might be 140 naira today and not 97. He forgot if people had not protested heavily during military regime for change, Nigeria might not. have returned to civilian regime. He forgot if there was no "bring back our girls protest", the currenr=t govt will not have accepted there was any kidnapping talkless of taking any action. |
I am forced to believe it is caused by poor understanding of RELIGION. I hear people say "God will elect good leaders for us" and yet they sit at home on election day "God will help me" yet they have made no effort to help themselves. "God will provide for you" yet they have not given a little to assist the other one. faith without works is dead. Most Nigerians have stopped critical thinking, reasoning and action and placed it on the footsteps of God, forgetting that God gave them brain and made us in his own image. I am sure if the wright brothers who invented the aeroplane in the 19th century were Nigerians, family and friends would have made concerted efforts to stop them from achieving such invention with the believe they are "trying to play God" flying in the air. ![]() |
Can hand sanitizers deal with virus? I though hand sanitisers can only deal with bacteria. |
Obanikoro should be rechristened Minister of defense for Electoral Manipulation |
PvtParts: Ekiti people are not joblessGet lost and focus on your state. Jonathan will lose his seat in 2015. Deal with it. |
Fayose's victory in Ekiti did not experience this kind of jubiliation for two reasons...... |
My biggest concern is that the educational reforms in the state should be concluded in no distant time, the proposed number of schools built completely, more school buses, the learning tablet distributed to a larger section of high school students, and recruitment of more number of school teachers where needed with a strong focus on Science and technical subjects. He has 4years and 4 months left to achieve what i listed above, and if he does see it through, i have no doubt, the resultant effect will show in the quality of the populace in the next decade, as well over 50% of the school age children in the state attends public schools. |
He won with over 100,000 votes difference. |
The report is so faulty. The crux of the matter was missing. What duration it took for the falconets to score? |
APC's loss in Ekiti will be a blessing disguising as disappoinment at the long run. They will now sit up and fix loose ends at least at the SW region. Ekiti has the lowest voters population of all the APC states, at the end it is like sacrificing a pawn for the opponents queen in a chess game. Now the pressure is on Fayose, all searchlight beamed on him, he MUST perform whether he likes it or not, and it is a win-win |
jmaine: Very blunt attempt . . .who is JEGA boss . . . .Independent National Electoral Commission. Dont quote me again, you are too skew minded to reason objectively |
jmaine: Who is JEGA answerable to ?NIGERIANS, and not the nonsense you think it should be. |
brownlord: some of you apc supporters are stupid by default, since 2011 voted was counted and announced at polling unit, so why making it sound JEGA gave the directive today, everything you said now, result being circulated on social network is same thing that has happened, anambra, edo, ekiti, so what makes this difference? learn to comment and criticize when need be and not just talk or comment for commenting sakeYou blockhead, the point is the evil PDP tried all the toxic tricks hounding APC leaders and even an assasination attempt, i know your corrupt and evil mind can not think objectively. I will no longer reply you dunce. |
The election was not free and fair. APC leaders were thoroughly harassed, the saving grace was that Aregbesola was widely loved. Only idiots and mad people will call what happened in Osun a free and fair election. The turning points for INEC was JEGA who asked votes must be counted at polling units, and the proliferation of social media usage to propagate such results, if not the usual collation centre magomago will have happened. PDP was more than desperate to subvert the will of people. You PDP hypocrites should keep shut and mourn the loss in a corner. ![]() |
But, truth be told even though Aregbe has won, PDP is really cancerous going by their wide scale harassment of APC leaders in the last 24 hours and even assassination attempt, It is really shameful , and no sane individual irrespective of party affiliation should support this anomaly. |
thegreatman4ww: JUST INGreat, gap now close to 75,000 votes. It can only get worse for PDP |
toludadon: as at 6.47 pmGood, the gap is getting wider, so far over 67,000 votes. It will get worse for the PDP as the result continues to come in. |
Adamawa is next. Ribadu will recover APC's mandate |
curiouses: "@omojuwa @PsamyYayo: CUMULATIVE RESULTS SO FAR FROM OUR OBSERVERS:: APC= 103,264 PDP= 74,415 #OsunDecides #OsunElectionThe gap will widen later in the night. |
onatisi: bros you get time oo. Leave all those nairaland analysts alone . How can someone claim that kano and one other state in the north will neutralise the votes of ss and se ?He is not far from the truth, the total votes from NW may surpass votes from SS + SE. |
onatisi: People are advised for your own safety to leave the polling unit after casting their votes. So your PDP thieves can steal their votes ? |
The votes for the landslide win trickles in. Anything less than 500,000 votes for Aregbe is like a loss to me. |
