MOBBDEEP: I still don't get why people opine guess as facts! If i should extrapolate your analysis, you are saying roughly 16.5 litres of kerosene will do the same amount of work as a gas filled 12.5kg cylinder.. I find it difficult to agree with you. |
OP, i am the ICT guy, sometimes when you call your "babe", it is impossible to pick the calls, because she is really busy helping me out. Give me time to think about it, i might leave her off the hook if i get tired of her. ![]() |
free2ryhme: Since we have been using the trees or kerosene show me where there has been deforestation. Give me proof. Stop using western issues to just use of gas. Go check your records african contribute very minimal to the effect of green house on the ozone layerThe proof you seek for surrounds you, you are only blind to it. Start from your village if you have one, i can bet there are fewer trees than they were 10 years ago, and the decline is continuos, 1.e there would be fewer trees than now in the years to come. I am sure in your mind when the govt embarked on an aggressive drive to plant more trees, you must have seen it as a needless jamboree, but your thoughts are so wrong and shallow. Why must you subject yourself to an archaic and difficult way of doing things, simply because you feel it is "african". If you are no longer using kerosene lantern in your home, but rechargeable lamp, then you are a first grade hypocrite. |
free2ryhme: Our ancestors used firewords and some lived to be over 80. They neither had cancer, diabetes, etc . Now lagos state is using health grounds as a strategy to sell their gas as if na mumu we be. Oya the mugus in lagos make una dey buy gas as una like oooYou are displaying ignorance with so much pride , i am forced to think you are pre teen.Have you heard about Environmental sustainability? You will have to fell more trees to get firewood, if you continue at that rate, there might be no more trees for firewood and other purposes, except the society is planting far higher number of trees than it is felling.(afforestation vs deforestation) Combustion of wood releases green house gases, depletes ozone layer and more global warming. It is a faulty long held belief that usage of gas is not for low income earners, you spend less using gas than kerosene., it is pocket friendly. |
Poor fellow , so he lost the political war finally. |
berem: that one na camp gas nau! I am already used to 12.5kg cylinder and I have two of them in the house empty.Except you are cooking for the whole of your local government, the 12.5kg cylinder should at worst last 1.5 months. |
berem: The price of refilling a 12.5kg cylinder is quite on the high side. A common man cannot afford 2,800naira for that. The price should be reduced if they want a success in their campaign. There are smaller gas cylinders like 3.25kg and 6.5kg which refilling cost should be 750 and 1,500 respectively. I believe it is cost effective than Kerosene. Edit: pictures of the small cylinders. These pixes were taken from the thread at the launch of the programme last year

jideomowunmi: Is dis all u've got...??u gat to b kidding me..bring it on jor...What if you are the one at the receiving end? Ruminate on this: "Do unto others as u want to be done to you" . I need no gaddemm attention, and dont quote me, cos i wont bother to reply you further. |
jideomowunmi: Before u know it..all d pple praising him and telling him well done will even forget his existence...and he is left wit wat actually..?going back to his 20k salary..? aw long will dat sustain him and his family..?as far as am concerned..he can take d money, use it wisely and in return even give more sef wit interest to d owner much later on in life...(just giving instances)opportunity dey say comes only but once..buh like u said...I sincerely hope and pray he does not regret his actions..not wit d way d country is dis days...You are a shameless and blatant thief. I can imagine Your kid coming back from school with pens , pencils and books you did not buy for him, and you rub him on the head and saying "that is my boy" |
By my own understanding, as long as debt to GDP ratio is below 26%, it is still fine. Lagos state is currently undergoing gutsy project like the light rail and badagry, ikorodu roads e.t.c |
Falconets are in for a tough time today, victory can go either way. The German side is more technical than all the teams we have played so far, we need to be at red alert defensively, only then can we lift the cup. |
Azizat claimed to have finished sec. school in 2009 on her facebook account, that is 5 years ago. I doubt she is 19. I suspect 21yrs+ |
Nigeria is a mere geographical expression, over 250 ethnic groups with little or no sense of nationalism. It is a lost cause for this generation, may be the next 100 years if Nigeria manages to stay as one. |
Not a cheering news from our neigbouring african state. I hope they get it right. |
For me, i think the pix and data unveiling should run its full course, there lies the crude solution to reducing tribalism to the barest minimum on nairaland. The forerunners championing tribalism are in tens, unveil them if u can. |
It is on high sea. Incompetent FG ! , i was SMH when i saw the FG piggybacking on the LASG in receiving commendation from WHO in the way Ebola breakout was properly handled. |
Religion played a major role in the 2012 adamawa bye election between PDP vs ACN. It was a relatively close election. If it will be a christian vs muslim , a lot of intrigues will play out. |
Musiwa , have you decamped from labour party to PDP party? ![]() |
I think doctors should have suspended the strike action for a period of time , say 2-3 months since the ebola break out. That way, they would have enjoyed massive public support when they return back to the strike action. You cant underestimate public support in this kind of situation, Doctors lost the opportunity when they failed to suspend the strike at the heat of the ebola outbreak, they now look like selfish doctors in the eyes of the masses. As much i believe this current government has failed, it is absolutely impossible for it to meet all the requests from professional bodies , sacrifices will have to be made. |
Poor parents giving birth to high number of children they cant afford to take care of, |
hushmail: APGA will not follow suit cos Anambra elections are a distant 4 years awayDont deceive yourself. Mimiko will be governor till 2017. APGA's case is not really different. Peter Obi APGA BOT has resigned, all the elected house of rep members on APGA;s platform has defected to PDP. I think the pseudo opposition parties should die, they pose a great nuisance to the political space, if they are half PDP, half their proclaimed party |
Good news ! There is no room for pretenders. APGA chiefs should also follow suit. |
It is well with you woman. You have spoken well. |
Naive Ribadu . |
erico2k2: Nop U cant justify any form.of criminality.Im trying to pick out the few positives from an already bad situation if you get me.Building refinaries by the FG would be stupid as it wont work. The private aector has toDont defend the indefensible, except you are paid to do so. A barrel of oil has stayed at over 100 usd for years now, that is a oil boom for you in jonathan administration. ![]() If debt is increasing astronomically during oil price boom, what will happen if there is a crash? ![]() The brent oil price is currently at 102 USdollars per barrel, the lowest price in 14 months. So much is going wrong at the moment than you can try to defend. It is a lost cause. |
erico2k2: But it forced the dealers to make petrol available to everybody or jave you forgotten so soon how I ise to queue to but petrol at the station? Unless U dnt driveIn ur mind, you have justified the rip off. Where are the 4 greenfield refineries promised by the govt for increasing from 65 -97 naira? Was there no fuel scarcity this year. ? I really feel sorry for most of you who covered your eyes of objectivity with primordial ethnic lens. |
The increase in petrol price from 65 to 97 naira per litre in Jan 2012 was supposed to free more funds for the govt. The 32naira increase in petrol price has failed to curtail govts borrowing, and the infrastructural growth fails to commensurate with the funds available. |
The comments of Abians are worse than the pictures. The comments by the indigenes of Abia had a single direction: the governor is a massive failure |
The end of match celebration was somewhat hilarious. |
