Bro enrollment letter and admission is diff. Admissions letter covers for the duration of ur course, enrollment letter is per semester. Every semester you’ve to enroll, once the semester is over the enrollment letter for that semester expires.

Admission letter and enrollment are not the same. Enrollment letter signifies you’re enrolling for that semester. For fall semester most school starts enrollment in July or august. If you’re asked at the airport just tell them your school is yet to start enrollment, also check for the date your school will start.

Egypt air get Wahala o, I’ve seen many complain about them. They go as far as telling students to show them proof of fund, they even tell them to login into der bank app to confirm if the money is truly der. If you’re flying Egypt air as a student just be fully prepared.

Egypt air n unnecessary stress. If your school haven’t start enrollment, just show them your admission letter, school fee receipt n log in to your portal. Tell them your school haven’t commence enrollment/

Just wait, you’ll hear from them. Most times they send all notifications at once.

You can collect in person, 12-2pm. Try to be there around 9am or 10am to get early slot, you’ll be surprise to meet over 200 ppl. Just go with photocopy of your int’l passport, write your tracking number on it. That’s all.

Woke up at about 4am to feed my baby. Fiddling with my phone in the process only to notice email from IRCC dropped around 1.26am. Finally PPR. Let me wait for my passport to arrive then send them mail and submit.

BVL: 5th May,
PPR: 19th June.

Study this carefully you'd see where it was written they hire people with temporary residence.
A question I want to ask right off the bat is, so this company won't hire a foreign person ? Why the need for getting LMIA?

Like I said , my posts are free giving, no need for your money , just share ideas , that's all. And guess what ? It's the same filters I used in this case!

They will hire but check the vacancy it’s just 1 slot of which people in Canada will still compete for it. During our chat remember I told you my guy was dropped at the last stage of interview, he’s a senior developer not newbie. He later got an offer in Germany, to tell you he’s very good.

A guy I follow on LinkedIn, he’s a 3D animator, got a job from Nigeria and the studio funded is relocation to Canada. Those in that industry can check Icon studio, they’re always hiring. There’s this guy I also follow on YouTube, he’s a full stack developer, he also got one. There’s even a thread on NL for close work permit, ( https://www.nairaland.com/7151873/canada-closed-work-permit ) people can check that out. But the reality is it doesn’t come easy.

I think we’re all saying the same thing, @orjohn24 point is don’t paint it like it’s very easy to get. Also most people trying to covert vv to close work permit are not into tech, imagine the odds of getting LMIA for menial jobs, na real struggle.

Everyone is old enough to make decision n face the consequences. So please make your own research and go for what you feel is best. God help us!

I’ve talked about this and will say it again, I’m an advocate of “God will do it” but we still need to accept reality n plan base on that. My colleagues traveled to Canada 2021 to visit his family, he’s the only one in naija, I was so pissed when he came back, I asked why he couldn’t just get a job and stay. He told me it’s not that easy, that was his own experience.

Since my wife travelled for her PGD, I’ve bn the one helping her with job applications. For international students who is legally allowed to work to struggle landing a menial job, imagine how difficult it will be for someone on visit visa. During job application when filling the questionnaire, employers always ask if you’re legally permitted to work, most of them don’t want to go through that stress of getting LMIA.

I won’t advise anyone not to try, just make adequate plans. Have something you can fall back on incase that doesn’t work out. I know the situation of the country, I know not everyone will have the opportunity to use PR or study route, but pls make good plans. Don’t put all your hope in what’s not 100% guaranteed. Agents will only sweet talk to cash out leaving you to your reality when you land. I remember how agent sugarcoated things for my younger brother, she told him rent is 50 cad, Job is easy n all. I had him introduce him to Nairaland study thread to see people’s experiences, he got to Canada n blocked the agent after realizing she lied to him.

I’m not discouraging anyone, I’m sure people have used this route and doing well. Just plan, have realistic expectations and pray.

PPR not out since then and she has sent more than 4 emotional email.. but only got a response that PPR letter is in queue.

Lagos are just too slow with issuing ppr. She should chill like a week, if no update press der neck again.

My brother reached out to me, saying that an agent is charging him 5m for Canada visitors Visa, but she said he should pay 2m , and when he gets there and starts working,he will pay back the remaining 3m.

But from my research so far, to convert a vv to a WV one will need a job willing to offer LMIA

Now my questions are
1. How easy is it to get a job that can give LMIA, when he is no STEM (science,tech, engineering and medical)
2. I have been reading that it's possible,but have not seen any testimonies of people that have actually converted.
3. He doesn't have anyone to stay with in Canada,and doesn't have funds to pay for rent for more than a month. Can he get a job within one month.
4. If he is fortunate to get someone to stay with, what is the probability to get a job willing to give him LMIA before the first 6 months elapses.

Visitor visa is very easy to do if he has all required documents. That 2m he wants to pay he will with flight and other stuffs.

Converting vv to close work permit isn’t easy. Don’t let any agent sweet talk o. My wife is an int’l student, I’ve bn helping her apply for jobs. Most employers will ask if you’re legally allowed to work in Canada, they don’t want to go through that stress on getting LMIA. Getting a menial job isn’t that easy, I’ve applied to over 200 jobs for my wife, it’s not that easy o. He should have minimum of 3 months living expenses with him, the route is 50/50, no guarantee when he will land a sponsored job.

You can introduce him to this thread, let him read and understand the process n apply himself, that will save agent fee. He can try n if he gets the visa, enter and try is luck. It’s difficult to get LMIA jobs doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
