Remember, you don't just hike the price because you want to.
You have to own majority of the entire supply to be able to control price point in the markets,so to you, does it take a dunce to be able to control supply in a market?Do you know what it takes to acquire the capacity to be able to mop up/own an entire/majority supply in a 200m people market ?You think a fool can do that?
There's nothing illegal about milking your customers if you can, afterall it's a free market, you can always get from the competition. But of course my competitors can't supply you cause they can't fill up the supply volume I offer you so you'd always come back to me and buy at my prices after my weak competitors have exhausted their meagre supplies .
Bleep the customers,Bleep the consumers,Bleep the distributors,Bleep morality
What matters is profits,EOD.
You can all see BUA that put ex depot prices at N3500 and yet prices are yet to reflect on the streets because the volumes to actually crash street prices aren't there because distros will simply mop up all he's got to offer at 3500,hoard and maintain old price, rinse and repeat. This wouldn't happen if BUA can oversupply and flood the markets,
Abi where distributors want see money and warehousing to mop up and hoard 60MMTPA capacity of cement if BUA could achieve this? undecided Business isn't black and white dear friend.
That means he just enriched middlemen and made no effect on consumers asides media parade,
Again Bleep the customers, its business.

Sometimes I just observe the way animals live their life, and I see how they don't have many of the problems humans have.

The only time animals will be taken care of is when they are still young, and need mama's breastmilk and protection. But as they grow older, mama chases them away, and it's over.

Take a lion for example, if he didn't learn to hunt from his mum, he would die of hunger when he chased off to fend for himself. No such thing as depending on another lion, or being a burden.

Actually, the biggest killer of animals is their inability to hunt themselves. It's purely survival of the fittest. To animals, this way of life is their default, but to humans, it is not.

Until you are in a position of being a breadwinner to adults, especially those who are ingrates, you may never appreciate the animal's formula.

Because one day, you will tell yourself the bitter truth, which is that a lot of these people you are helping aint seeds, but stone. They will need your help until you die, they die, or you stop giving.

Like seeds, many will never on their own become independent and blossom. Instead, they will become more capitalistic (aka manipulatory), and strategize to milk you maximum.

I call them stones. Pour water on a stone, bury it in the most fertile soil, and expose it to photosynthesis, it will still be eternally barren.

There is no justification for a healthy adult to not be capable of taking care of themselves. No single excuse.

That's the reality. Dont know if it's sad or not, but the Nigerian case is sad. This is typical of poor countries. And if the breadwinner falls, the whole family falls as well. This is unsustainable.

Because if a country is doing fine, people will live for themselves. Parents will have pensions, or they can depend on the social payout from the states. Your income will go to push you to self-actualization, instead of responsibilities to others dragging you back.

Only in Africa, a single breadwinner will be responsible for others

Then the breadwinner will be a workhorse for other ones who most likely will not do the same for them if the role is reversed. The price one pays for coming from an underdeveloped country (also known as ´´black tax´´) is multidimensional. Poverty is really expensive.
Bro, you just described me.

The irony of life

Just working for others to enjoy their sweat and to make it worse, the person can even die untimely like 45 hears old when he thought he would get to 60 years old to go back home and enjoy his/her sweat.
Think about this also, what is there to enjoy in your 60s again when you have used the best part of your life 20 to 50 to hustle hard.
Above 50s, you start avoiding sugary things, scared of old age diseases like HBP, stroke, diabetes etc
What is there to enjoy again at that age sef when your skins are getting wrinkled, you don't look more handsome or appealing again, your movements are kind of sluggish because you don't have that youthful agility again?
To me, it is just a rat race to nowhere.

Buy it, dismantle it and reverse engineer it.

And concerning the state of Nigeria roads, I think they really do not need to be fixed according to our Reps… but left to become more deplorable while stronger cars are required to access them, to the extent that boats and canoes will be needed in the near future to access them.

And these are the same people asking us to patronize made in Nigeria goods…

Why not?

Long term, the naira will always depreciate. It has been depreciating since inception.
So why should a Nigerian, regardless of political affiliation, avoid converting their savings when cheap FX is available?

You make hay when the sun shines.
And right now it's a hot summer afternoon for the naira.

Your argument is illogical and you're conflating issues.
The rapid decline of the naira's value is primarily down to the economic policies of the dual APC administrations.
It is perfectly fine to criticize the rate of decline.

In fact, this is the entire reason for the criticism.
So they can drag down the rate and anyone can buy the $ for whatever reason.
If you want to hedge. Do that. If you want to buy for japa. Do that. If you want to buy to preserve your wealth through the inevitable devaluation. Do that.
And yes, if the rate rapidly crashes from 800 back to 1600, Tinubu and his appointees will be raked over the coals. Part of his mandate is to ensure currency stability. When he fails at that, criticism is justified.
It should not matter what Nigerians want to use the dollars for. We earned the naira fair and square.
If Tinubu and co are doing their jobs correctly, even if I want to buy $10m, I should be able to do so without any material effect on the rate.

I don't know why fellas in your camp are fond of gaslighting Nigerians.
We can't criticize. We can't buy dollars.
If it were up to you, only those with Ronu cards will be able to buy the dollars now that it is cheap.
Then when the rate goes back up, you'll start telling the rest of us to endure the hardship.

But, it's already falling na... The value of the Naira is already falling. grin

And if you mean the Naira will appreciate on its own, then you need to snap out of that daydream. It won't happen.

The only thing that will save this Nation's currency, and by extension the economy is radical changes in government policies with regards to:

Internal and domestic Production and
Consumption

Improved security and power

Drastically reduced Importation especially major imports with high rate of exports

The above will massively boost the demand of the Naira with its consequent recovery and appreciation.

If not... Naira will keep falling until it dies with the economy.

Foreign AffairsRe: US Using Africans As ‘free Clinical Resource’ – Moscow by emmaodet: 9:53pm On Nov 02, 2023
cocolacec:
The Pentagon is conducting illegal biological research under the pretense of ‘public health,’ the Russian Defense Ministry has claimed.

The US is exploiting Africa as a testing ground and is relocating “unfinished” biological weapons projects from Ukraine to the continent under the guise of public health programs, the Russian Defense Ministry has claimed.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, alleged on Tuesday that “illegal” experiments are continuing in Nigeria, in addition to a host of African countries listed in a previous report.

The project is being led by America’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the National Security Agency (NSA), and the State Department, he added.

Washington claims, according to Kirillov, that biological projects in Nigeria are aimed at combating HIV/AIDS. He cited recent figures showing that 60% of Nigerians suffering from the disease have received antivirus therapy using products from “Pentagon-affiliated” biopharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences, which Kirillov said had previously tested its drugs on Ukrainians.

“However, the effectiveness of this program raises serious concerns. Despite annual funding increases totaling about $100 million, the HIV incidence rate has remained virtually unchanged and corresponds with 2009 figures. The mortality among HIV-infected people also shows unfavorable progression,” the Russian official stated.

This suggests that “American pharmaceuticals, even with the documented increase in consumption in Nigeria, do not have a tangible therapeutic impact, and Nigerian citizens are being exploited as a ‘free clinical resource,’” Kirillov added.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that a three-year contract signed between DTRA and American non-profit RTI International in August 2022 to monitor infectious disease threats in Africa’s largest economy is part of the Pentagon’s broader “biological espionage” schemes.

This includes “analyzing the epidemic situation along the borders of geopolitical adversaries and in the expected regions of military contingent deployment,” according to the ministry. Moscow also claims to have documents confirming that the Pentagon was spying on the biological situation in “Iraq and Afghanistan bordering China, Türkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.”

Earlier last month, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed the US was transferring dual-purpose biological research activities to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Uganda, and South Africa. The move came after Moscow repeatedly exposed the Pentagon’s illegal military-biological operations in Europe, including Ukraine, Kirillov said.

Let me get it you straight, many groundnut millers have folded up? Not just you? This is within your region (SW), right? Not the north?

Congrats on being a major supplier. There is money in processing (that is where the money in agriculture lies anyway), but power supply has been a major bottleneck. I think you are well grounded in Nigeria; if not, Ghana or Ivory Coast would have been a better option. My mom says Benin Republic even enjoys 24 hours power supply. embarassed

Nevertheless, I look forward to learning from you, online or physically.
No problem bro.
I did tomatoes, pepper, maize and groundnuts this year and the harvest from the first 3 haven't been encouraging or as expected and what have noticed in farming is that it is more effective and efficient but can't say cheaper to use tractor than manual workers.
The human factor is really affecting agriculture.

🧵 Bibi's Days Are Numbered

Those calling the shots in Washington want Netanyahu out.

They have been strongly criticizing Israel's scorched earth policy in Gaza, and are pressing for a "humanitarian cease-fire".

Of course, the US isn't genuinely bothered by Israel killing people in Gaza. They simply want Israel to kill different people: those who constitute the military potential of Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran.

But many in Israel recognize that facing north is a fool's errand — and one that would almost certainly be extremely costly.

Israel is not prepared to prosecute the kind of high-intensity war that would be required to defeat its enemies to the north.

And they also now realize, if they did not previously, that the US is incapable of supplying them (or anyone else) with the means to sustain high-intensity warfare.

Nevertheless, the US continues to concentrate in the region as much power as it can currently cobble together.

Because, as I have argued for months now: having seen its designs in Ukraine go awry, the #EmpireAtAllCosts cult is now feeling extreme pressure to find and fight a war it can win, and thereby (they imagine) arrest the decline of their rapidly eroding military prestige.

The problem, however, is that there are no more "easy wars" left to fight. And although they're going to need to find a tall ladder, Iran is the lowest-hanging fruit remaining on the tree of imperial conquest.

So Bibi must go, and someone else installed who will do what must be done to serve the empire's last-gasp grasp for immortality.
Interesting days ahead.
I am enjoying your thread bro.
I am still a bit skeptical about Iran being able to defeat isreal because attacking wise, I feel isreal has better air force than Iran and defence wise, again isreal has this iron dome while I don't know if Iran has any to protect her.

Nice thread bros. I just read an article about cassava farming in the east, and from it, what ought to be available there is a processing facility which would take up their harvest. Your post about processing groundnuts made me go through your profile. Truly, apart from workers' dishonesty, my major fear is Fulani herdsmen.

Are your future plans targeted at processing the produce or being an out-grower to those Indian facilities within Ogun?

I really wish you the best.
Thanks very much bro.
I don't plan processing again until there is 25hrs power supply in Nigeria.
There is too many headache in biz already, so I will just stick to doing one line while transferring the remaining headaches to the next person or processor.
For maize, I have feedmillers on stby buying it.
For groundnuts, I had millers too who will buy when on ground but have mostly folded up.
So my target market is now kulikuli producers, groundnut bottle makers and peanut burger makers.

You are being extreme. You don’t know a woman until she has power over you. Uk is tough place especially for a new settler. It is a regimented environment and you are constantly stressed by bills. You are forever in the work/ bill trap. You dread opening your mail because it’s one bill or another. It is a particularly tough place in the cold winter months between October and March. The cold dark isolation in those months especially will test the resolve of any single woman.

It is not the environment where you as a man want to be dependent on your wife. She will start to resent you. Fights will start. She will start alto see normal behaviour as you messing up because the real problem is while the job sounds good on paper, in the cold light of day the pay for a paramedic is not enough.

Where. Is your wife going to stay, where are you going to stay when you get there…room or flat? Rent/ council tax will take half her income, transport/ food and bills will take the rest. She will eventually get frustrated that despite all her work she has no savings left and you are not contributing.

So if you make the mistake of not greeting her properly, you have messed up, She goes to work and comes back and the house is not clean to her taste, you have messed up, even to sleep you are messing up. You are applying for jobs but have not secured One…you have messed up. The baby is crying and you even suggest she looks after the baby after her long shift at work…..yep you’ve messed up. You dare ti ask why she came back late….. you’ve messed up. That’s life in the UK for a man dependent on his wife.

These feelings will happen with every wife in this situation, the question is how long does it take for it to affect her behaviour towards you. How long does it take you to get your act together and the character of your wife.

God did not design a woman to be in control of the destiny of her husband. Woman is a helper and women wives sincerely want to help but there is a difference between helping and handing control of your destiny to your wife.

That your continued presence in the UK is dependent on your wife is a dangerous situation to put yourself.
