They're extremists.

The Caliphates had all the time in the world and resources to eradicate the Jews. They didn't. In fact, the Jews flourished.
By the end of the 16th century, the Ottoman Empire was home to the world's largest Jewish population.
But the opposition to the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine by the native 90+% of the population is being misconstrued as genocidal intent.

I'm sure if the Afrikaans had evicted the majority black population from South Africa, enforced unlimited Caucasian immigration, and used Genesis 1:28 as their rallying cry; these clowns will be singing a different tune.

Are you saying it is okay to kill 2 million civilians to get to 40,000 fighters?

Furthermore, Israel has a well-documented history of using relocations as pretext to steal lands. That's how the country was created. They forced out most of the inhabitants and stole the land. They've done the same in the West Bank where they've slowly edged out Palestinians and settled "innocent civilians" in Palestinian land.

This is all Israel's mess.

You don't sow cashew and expect to reap strawberry.

Don't mind many religious bigots here.
Why will you tell me your God gave you a land to acquire 2000 years ago and you are back to have it.
What kind of nonsense is that? In this 21st century?
So if your God gave you such instructions, then it is safe to say Allah and Usman dan fodio also had told his Fulani kith and kins that they own Nigeria and won't stop until they deep the Quran in the Atlantic aka conquering southern Nigeria.
Afterall, it is an instruction from their own God too.
What is good for christian is good for Muslim and what is good for isreal is good for Arabs and fulanis too.
So what is am not a christain in isreal? How will you convince me that your God is the one that owns where I am and I have to leave.
I mean, so fulanis now can come to ibadan and tell me and my people that they own it and we have to vacate to where ever we can because they own it. Allah has given it to them and if I don't go they will use force.
What kind of devilish race is that?
Are the Jews different from west African fulanis? Taking over people's land by force? They are just international fulanis with more finance, fire power and media. Simple

I am just seeing this maize field drying method for the first time.
I guess it will only work in the north due to hight temperature.
In the south, there is high humidity in the air thereby causing the maize to be moulding and developing fungi infection instead of drying due to the maize inside spoiling

Also, you people hardly have densely populated thick woods that discourages tractors from working directly In the farm.
In the south, to cultivate a large mechanized farmland, you have to worry about the cost of hiring a bulldozer to clear and uproot the farm first before tractor owners will agree to work in your farm.

I've lived in 4 countries, so let me offer my two cents.

First, if you're looking at it from a financial standpoint, those who live in Nigeria and work for organizations in Europe or the Americas are far more gainfully employed than those living in these places (even though those living abroad are more paid than thier offshore counterparts). Even if you spend mindlessly, you'd still likely be very rich cause of exchange rate. If you're single, you'd probably be spending between 5% to 10% of your salary (depending on your level) and the remaining part (which could be more than a million depending on your level) could go to savings and investment. Meanwhile, your counterparts in the Western world will be spending in the currency of the resident countries. Some of them might even be struggling to save after paying monthly house rent of about $2,300 in NY and bills like electricity, water, gas, internet, phone, cable etc. as well as other expenses like transportation, groceries, wears, haircut and entertainment. There's simply no comparison here.

That said, like someone has already mentioned, living abroad isn't all about money for some people. Other factors like amenities, safety, passport (freedom of movement), exposure to diversity and, most importantly, the future of your offspring all come into play. Now, to your question, it all depends on the individual's field, level, the country where they are and the exchange rare at the time. Some countries pay more than others. Some fields pay more than others and advanced/senior professionals earn more than mid level and entry level professionals. So it's not very practical to give a figure. Moreover, people aren't dumb enough to keep compounding money in the bank like that. That's a poor man's mindset. Buying assets that appreciate with time or investing in financial instruments that counters inflation is the only way to secure the value of your money. Finally, whether you move or not is up to you. You might save less (even though you get paid more when you're there), live in a much smaller apartment and deal with the cold weather and racism, but there are benefits like thes ones I mentioned above. It's an individual thing. So take a moment to understand your priorities. And if you're still not so sure, secure a visitors' visa and go see for yourself first (bearing in mind visiting/vacationing in a place is far more fun than actually living there).

Good luck!
Well said
Absolutely correct.

I think the better question will be to ask what the value of 100 million will be in six years time and what would happen if you lose your job while in Nigeria and how easy it would be to get another one. 1800 USD isnt a lot or a mind blowing salary
You raised a good point but the question is, if all been equal and both keep their jobs for the next 5 years, how much can each save with cost of living constant for both

Swears!

Just yesterday, the US, UAE, Saudi Arabia, the EU, and India unveiled a massive intercontinental project to counter China's One Belt, One Road initiative.

While in South-Central Africa, China lit the fuse for Africa's first transAfrican rail network connecting coast to coast. The expanded Lobito corridor will connect the Lobito Port in Angola and the Dar es Salaam Port in Tanzania (image attached).

The Americans and Europeans are only concerned about the Angola, DRC, and Zambia section but at least they're putting their money where their mouth is. The US DFC will be investing $250M in the project, their first financing of rail infrastructure in Africa.

China is making them loosen their purse strings. And we'd all enjoy the dividends.

China was happily buying US chips and developing at their own pace. Trump/Biden came along and screwed up China. China responded with their own technology and now Trump/Biden are screwed.”

They reaped what they've sown and more will come.
At the meeting on the 17th the CEOs of the three major U.S chip Giants Intel Qualcomm and Nvidia told U.S officials such as blinken and Sullivan that this move (restrictions on China) would harm their ability to do business in China.

Pat Gelsinger (Intel) spoke frankly and said that further restrictions on Intel's business in China would jeopardize a key policy of the Biden Administration to bring chip production back to the US.

He warned that without orders from Chinese customers the necessity of Intel's plans to build factories and other projects in Ohio would be greatly reduced if restrictions on chip exports to China are not eased, who will the U.S chip industry sell to if chips have nowhere to go.

Intel expects to pause its multi-billion dollar chip factory projects in the U.S. In January last year Intel announced plans to build two new chip factories outside Columbus Ohio with a planned investment of at least 20 billion dollars to expand its chip manufacturing business.

Once completed this will become the world's largest chip manufacturing base. Jensen Juan the founder and CEO of Nvidia present at the meeting also said that restricting Nvidia's chip sales in China would only provide opportunities for other brands.

Juan has pointed out that China accounts for about one-third of the U.S technology Industries market and its position as a source of semiconductor components and a market for end products makes it Irreplaceable

China's largest export destination is not the US or the EU anymore. It is the South East Asian (ASEN) bloc of 10 countries.
Last year, China got cracking on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, and this year Chinese exports to ASEAN crossed $600B every month.

But but but wE hAvE tO cOnTaIn CHINA!

China is expanding the Singapore model to the entire ASEAN zone. And in time the rest of the population will grow rich enough and be closer to Singapore's level and ultimately become a lucrative market in its own right. A textbook example of a win-win.

As an aside, the G20 accepted AU as its newest permanent member. Many thanks to China's doggedness and India formally putting stakeholders on the spot.

If only Africa had its sh*t together. Billions to be made and we're slacking!

You see....this is the advantage of a multipolar world.
it creates competition among the big boys to improve the lower countries.
The lower countries will enjoy the option of picking who they like and want to work with.

I agree with you and Emmaodet.

Unfortunately, the most vocal people against such a plan are blacks, both Africans and African-Americans, based abroad. They will never return to Africa to make things work as they are supposed to, but are at the forefront of discouraging such a plan in the name of racism and whatnot. Unless enacted by African governments, most White countries won't involve themselves in such. The Chinese who are doing the same are being accused of racism, whereas no be dem trade black people in slavery.

We are too emotional. I and Tensa20 have discussed the same outsourcing and agreed that certain parts of the economy should be outsourced to people who know it better than us. If the ills of slave trade and colonialism would prevent us from working with the White man, let's do with the Japanese, South Koreans and Chinese. Hand construction and maintenance of key sectors to them. Let them run it as they do in their countries. Pay them good money, and ensure our people get trained.
Exactly.
I don't know why it is hard for them to do that.
Do they just feel happy, satisfied and contented seeing their own people suffering and wallowing in poverty?
How can leaders be so bad and stupid to keep their own people perpetually poor just because they think it is easier to control people en mass with poverty.
A well fed society will be hard to decieve and control so the best tool to keep them in chains is through poverty, mass illiteracy and religion.
But then, eniti o ba ta Ara Ile ni opo, a ra lo won - if you sell out your people cheaply for your selfish reasons and personal gains, then you will either have to buy them back in an expensive way or pay the price.

If you render your farmers useless by not providing them with adequate security to farm, modern farm machineries like tractors, harvesters, sprayers so as to provide more than enough for the society and export, then you have sold them cheaply and you have to pay back by importing with scarce resources for a more expensive food.
If you render your education useless, you have to pay the price of your people going to school abroad with expensive pounds and dollars.
If you render your hospitals useless, you pay the price by flying abroad to treat yourself and it doesnt come cheap.
If you don't make your refineries work, you have to pay the price of importing it and more expensive.
Ignorance, corruption is far more expensive than putting the hard work to make the system work but i guess nobody wants to pass through that route

Seriously, the bolded always comes up as a reason when it comes to a matter of going abroad.

What do you really mean when you say "the future of the children are secured". Who secured it? How? I don't seem to understand that argument.

This is just an illusion. Yes, they have infrastructure. However, it is just the children that take the opportunities that will excel. The place is filled with lot of distractions and the laws restrict the parents to take either preventive or corrective actions . Most of their children don't do well in life. Mostly in rehab, doing one silly course, roaming the streets while relying on handouts. Just a few of them make it big.

No country signs any guarantee securing the future of any children in the world. Success is solely a function of how a child is determined to make the best out of life, irrespective of geographical location.
