verbena: @adconline
Well it is true mate, they're so many cars sold in the UK without airbags . If anyone doubts me I can post pictures and specs of some of these cars. Men the bottom line is SON has no business with this, if anything they have provided a choice to people who can't afford more expensive cars. My brothers its seems like u all making excuses for loving tokunbo or completely ignorant of how things work in a developed world. Sometimes people think that all is right in the western world, the reason they don't die like us is they don't drive like us and they observe traffic rules and regs. Besides sorry to say this but someone that uses the word falsehood in that statement u just made can't possibly be on my reasoning frequency so I'm just gonna let u and your illiterate thinking be.
Thank God for people like sultaan and freaky des that can see reasoning, them force anybody to buy.
@ ematok I walked into a kia dealership , saw the rio wasn't what I wanted , made a decision to spend more and wrote a cheque for a sportage. That's how civilized people behave nt blame our disfunctional governmant for something they shouldn't ve involvement with. Its a free country and buy where your money reach Are you saying air bag and seat belt are luxury in cars? My Brother we are talking of safety and not luxury. I do not care how cheap that car is. Every car must meet the minimum safety requirement. This is not a Nigerian standard alone. |

alphabet43: @ Manny Generators sellers are in cohorts with the FG and states are not allowed to produce electricity for themselves
@ Demola All the infrastructure bring investors that bring jobs, thats how they are affected. Who has produced 'anything' in Nigeria, who is your alternative? You must be on of those paid $1000 to go talk poo on blog sites
Illiteracy is a worse disease in Nigeria. There has been more jobs in Lagos than i've ever seen in my lifetime and I grew up there. Even before IBB ruined Nigeria
Unless you've been living under a rock, you won't know this @ alphabet43 Tell me you are the most educated person on NL. I don't buy this your FASHOLA propaganda all. I have been in Lagos for past 25 years and i am yet to see any Low cost housing project in Lagos especially in the last 5 years. Today you need as much as #500,000/year the get a two bedroom flat, even in Suburba like AYOBO, IGEDE, ISHEFUN AGBDO ,AJA etc. So tell me where FASHOLA low cost houses are located? You must come to Lagos and show us those low cost houses. |

verbena: them force you to buy, If u want a car with more airbags go and buy a Yaris for 1m more. There have taken out the airbags to make it more affordable to you. You buy what u pay for, if the government says there must be airbags and kia puts in airbags in the rio the car would be about 2.5m. Then its still you that would complain that theyre ripping you off. Cars are similar priced in USA because it is assembled there thus eliminating the shipping and clearing costs and for Kia in nigeria to deliver budget cars they have to do away with some options in the car . Given that the rio doest have much in it the airbags seem the logical thing to remove( as car no go work without tyre or gearbox). Dont work for Kia but its only common sense, if u want something with more airbags go and but a toyota and stop complaining. Mr MAN, because you use A KIA should not stop you from saying the truth. All KIA CARS used in NIGERIA ARE imported. No one is assembled here. This story is about the quality of KIA Cars in NIGERIA. The SON officail said " Thus many safety devices are fitted into automobiles depending on their grade and class e.g. fog lights, speed limit alerts, the seat belts, ABS among others. These comfort, design and aesthetics among others also play major roles in determining quality of automobiles and their class and price. " Are you saying fog lights, speed limit alerts, the seat belts, ABS are luxury in a car? I have seen Honda Accord 1995, Benz V-BOOT and Toyota Camry 1997 with seat belt and air bag. And they are less than #700,000. So tell me why a 2004 KIA car (new or use ) won't have those safety futures. |
Romance › Breaking The Bad Boy Syndrome by emmatok(op): 8:26pm On Mar 15, 2011 |
Since I discovered the miracle of Internet surfing, I have never taken it for granted — not even once! I eagerly embraced all it had to offer, morning after morning, I voraciously dug out information from various sites ranging from political, academic to inspirational. However, this appetite of mine has for months now been feeding heavily on inspirational sites. I have gone to hundreds of these sites, looking for ways to be better, and I must confess it has really being of tremendous help to me. One of such site is ‘girlsgonewise.com’, which has lots of resources for girls who are willing to become wise and abandon the wild ways. Perhaps it is the name that attracted me or better still it’s the layout, whichever did he trick , I am eternally grateful to. Good girls love bad boys? ‘Why do good girls love bad guys?’ was one interesting article once posted on the girlsgonewise website. This is one big question I found myself running from for a long time as it does not only scare me, it also reveals an amount of evil that resides in me and puts to shame my ‘goodness’. This is one question I have been unable to answer since. I have, at some point, fallen victim to this malfunction and so I am eager to discuss it with other girls. Why do a lot of good girls fall in love with the guy with the guarded eyes, mysterious ways, callous attitude, ‘devil may care behaviour’; what exactly is the attraction? Why is it so difficult for the ‘good girls’ to just fall in love with the ‘good guys’? Oh, how ethereal will that be! Enough of all these Mill and Boons lifestyles/stories we have been brought up to believe, bad guys cannot make good husbands SIMPLE! Facing facts You have got to face it. A guy who does not give a hoot about the terrible menstrual cramps you endure month after month, will not be moved by the labour pains that grip you at childbirth! If a guy does not have the decency to call you every day in a relationship, you will not expect him to be accountable to you by the time you have gained 20 pounds in marriage! A guy who severally refuses to introduce you to his family as a girlfriend but delights in making out with you at the backseat of his car at night does not deserve you! Not forgetting the fact that he will not take you out on romantic dates after your ‘perfect size 8’ has forgotten its number. My thoughts In my little time on earth. I have surely seen the good, the bad and the ugly side of men. My advice to all the good girls including myself is that we henceforth boycott the ‘bad boys zones’ because they surely stand up to no good! They are wicked, selfish, childish (forget the muscles), and they do not deserve our love. I have this song on my phone by Frank Edwards — ‘You are beautiful’. This song stresses the fact that we are too beautiful, too intricately created to be mishandled, that means we need the love of the good guys in our lives. Here is this problem, I have sampled the opinion of a lot of girls, and what I have heard is so discouraging. A lot of them believe that the good guys are boring, wimpy and not manly enough. Can someone please tell me the relationship between being good and being boring, have they become synonymous? Because the last time I checked, they were not the same, so why do we foolishly create this synergy between goodness and boredom.
As for me, I have strongly decided to give the next good guy in my life a big chance because I need him, as the flower needs the sun to bloom, so I do seriously need him. Enough of this evil magnet which keeps attracting me to that guy with guarded eyes and nonchalant ways. With this decision comes another challenge, how do I get this good guy? Because they are so scarce nowadays, the streets are filled with ‘bad guys’. They populate churches, they are the smooth talking brothers on the pulpits, and they are the tongues-speaking guys in church who will not stop ogling at the slits of your skirts. They are the Bible-carrying dudes who keep leading you on till eternity comes! The Biblical stand I recently stumbled on a chapter in the Bible which talks about being a wise girl and not walking as the unwise. In this chapter, I suddenly discovered that it’s simply not enough being a good girl, take a step further by including God in all things. I mean all things like your racing heartbeat whenever the so-called guy is around, those needy moments when you desperately want a man’s arms around you, those times you feel so sexually charged and don’t know what to do about it. Be a wise girl and talk to God about all these issues. He understands, He knows your struggles, He loves you so much that He is so interested in giving you that godly, good, romantic man who appreciates you and is willing to walk this life with you. Do not be in a haste to be loved by someone, remember God loves you, and I personally think that tops even a man’s love. Get to know yourself, love yourself, love God! Today, be a wise girl and delete the bad guy’s digits on your phone and embrace the good guy!http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/ArtsandCulture/x2/Entertainment/5683186-146/breaking_the_bad_boy_syndrome_.csp |

yes some men kill themselves we aint saying men cant feel that too some do here we are dealing with ratio
remember by nature man are the hunters we programmed with some cushion to rejection NA not true most men(except players) hate rejection in relationships. If the man do the hunting, and also the investing(spending) such man will not tolerate rejection or breakup from any woman . |

pro01: Could be either men or women. Depends on who invested the most (financially and/or emotionally), or who stands to lose the most. I've discovered that women move on very quickly and without remorse or gratitude if the guy they broke up with is pretty much an 'average joe' in terms of money, status and all else. But they nearly die of heartbreak if the guy they broke up with is a very desirable guy (rich, etc.). When they remember all the awoof suya, isiewu, point-and-kill peppersoup, cash hand-outs, endless 'trips', gifts, rain of recharge-cards, gettaways to exotic places, and so on which they enjoyed from the guy. . .all of which made her the envy of her friends. . .they would nearly commit suicide when the relationship ends (unless she was lucky enough to meet an even 'bigger boy' shortly before or after the break-up). Well women recover faster because they have little or no investment in the relationship. I have seen men commit suicide due to break-up from women. I can you imagine how an auto spare-part dealer will feel if the girl he sponsored to university leaves him after graduating. |

medinatl: @ OWOLAYEMO, and emmatok, Did I not tell her to move on?. The issue here is not the advise but how they are stated. We all forget that one day we may need others help for directions in life. Lets be reasonable but be frank. quote author=medinatl link=topic=620927.msg7908700#msg7908700 date=1300110760] This is just a 2 months old relationship, u supposed to be in the honeymoon phase with a lot of chemistry. This lady on this forum is not only the issue at hand. The kid in the mix is the only one am praying for in all of this mess. The ex-wife is not stable, per what is stated in the story, she is a cheat. The Guy himself doesn't know what he wants, he may continue to cheat even when/if he gets back to is Ex-wife. I agree with you my guy. But it is too complicated to stay in such relationship. Life is too short. She needs to foresee the dangers ahead. It is not about what the guy wants. It is abut her own future.
If you read through the tread, you will notice where she said the GUY had other GF after his ex-wife. I hope she will not be she will not be treated as those other EX-GIRL FRIENDS. |

medinatl: What kind of silly comments are this?
1. The topic stated Ex-wife. What is the definition of Ex-wife? to me it means they are not together anymore. Before you can call someone a home breaker, or an enemy of progress, it means the boyfriend will still be married. 2. Too many silly people giving unreasonable comments. 3. I love family concept too but lets not mix apples with oranges. The prayer is for a family to be together as one. But don't put the blame of a broken marriage on someone that was not even there when the ex-wife was banging 5-10 other people. If the poster is your sister, will u put the blame of the broken marriage on her?.
@Poster 1. Ignore all the silly comments about you being a home breaker, or enemy of progress.
2. The issue here is that your BOYFRIEND is texting another person behind your back. If he wants to communicate with his baby mama, he can do it in your presence with no string attached.
This is just a 2 months old relationship, u supposed to be in the honeymoon phase with a lot of chemistry. I'll suggest you move on or let him know you are one leg in, one leg out. I beg just STFU my friend. Did you not read where she states that the GUY IS STILL LOVE HIS EX-WIFE.What if the man goes back and reconcile with his former wife. This BABE relationship with the guy is just TWO MONTHS OLD. She can continue with him and when the guy get his ex-wife back she will be shown the red card . People just love to live their lives in FANTASIES. Tomorrow they come to NL and complain of heart breaks. |

lastpage: Hmmmmmm, na God go save us O!
First, how on earth do people make comments and pass judgment, just by listening to one side of a quarrel?
Like the Yoruba people will say: "Agab O'sika l'ongbo ti enu enika d'ajo"! (Only a wicked elder passes judgment based on the story of one party to a quarrel)
On one thread, the story was about "Wives abusing their Husband" and the men have to seek Police refuge! Here, one OP just salivate us with one story (a very one side story for that matter!) and everyone is going gaga! I wont earn any "flowers" if l conclude that "there is no smoke without fire naah"?
If NL was a "family court" l guess the first thing a sensible judge will do is to ask: WHERE IS THE OTHER PARTY TO STATE HIS/HER OWN SIDE? Well, not here in NL! I guess some people use NL as a way of getting their "kicks" and destroying the lives of gullible others
I dont actually mind that, its anonymous BUT l worry that there are some "Young and impressionable souls" on this forums, who read a lot of trash here and "swallow it" like its "Gospel Truth"!
I pity those kind people and at the same time, l feel sorry for them! Its for their sake that l would make this plea: DO (as in advice) UNTO OTHERS, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT TO BE DONE TO YOU, YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER! Dont forget, what goes round will one day come around O!
Blessed are the "Peace Makers, they shall be called God's children".
Let us be reasonable and real, let us strike a "healthy balance" between "Sympathy for the oppressed" and "incitement to evil"! Marriage is not the same thing or equivalent of "a fall-out between two platonic friends", especially when Children are involved!
I was expecting someone with brain-matter will ask the poster a few questions about the relationship like: How long have they been married?, when did the fighting start?, what caused it?, Is any of them hot tempered?, Have they been fighting before marriage and if not, how long after did it start?, Are "matured" elders in the family aware and did they try to make peace?, Has the "core issue(s)" causing disaffection between the couples been identified?, Do they still think any "love" still exists between the spouses? Is another "party" (rivalry) involved?, Since two Captains cant command one ship, is any of the spouses ready to "mellow down" for the other? Are there alternative ways of "reaching an amicable settlement (even it is mere temporary separation) than involving all these "vulture-NGO's" who have no respect for the institution of marriage?, And many more pertinent questions
Dont forget that "breaking-up a marriage" does not just end there, it is a "life-long change" (and worst in most cases!) for the children who are not a part of the whole brouhaha! And its not all about "how much" you can get afterwards. I guess you should refer to statistics about children form broken homes.
Just reflect: after all the work and toil of your life, is it not the same children, (with all the abuse and bad foundation that goes with a broken home), that will inherit you? (and probably fritter everything away in a year!)
Softly, softly, abegi! @ lastpage GOD BLESS YOU. @OP I will advise you to tread carefully on this one. Because your actions might be see as intruding into another man family affairs. And you will be label an evil person if anything goes wrong with that family. So it is better you get in touch with the woman family and police. Than hands-off. shikena. But if you keep listening to NL divorce lawyers, i assure you, you will not find it easy at all. |

Its a shame that some have tried to derail this thread in their usual manner because I think this thread could be very interesting with various adaptations of Bkbabe's anology. What I expected of some was a complete change of characters. If you disagreee with GEJ as Napoleon or as Awo as Old Major, why not come up with another list of characters and state how you reached your conclusion. But as with all things human, those who cannot be creative must critise at all cost. With 6.5 billion on the planet, you will not find two people who are completely identical, yet some believe that an adaptation of animal farm or any other work, should involve like for like comparisons with regards to the message, the individuals, and the context. If that is the case, where do you find another USSR, Stalin or Trotsky? Try as you may, you can not compare the USSR with Cuba or China. You will not find 100% similarities between the war of liberation and the Bolshevik revolution. THANK YOU. |

PStylish: @All Ndigbo Most of you guys are just internet warriors. And you just catching fun taunting the Yoruba folks especially those who are not on ground in Lagos. I will make clarify some issues for the avoidance of doubt: 1. Igbo demand for more representation It is very provocative for Igbos to begin to demand for more political representation in Lagos by way of political appointment. It begins to look like blackmail and an attempt to assert unfounded/unproven influence. In Lagos, it should be Yorubas first, then others. Lagos is the melting pot for all Yorubas. And I dont think all Yorubas have been served yet. 2. Igbo contribution to the Lagos economy The contribution of the Igbos to the Yoruba economy is being overhyped. The 80-20 factor comes in handy here. 80% of Igbos contribute only 20% to the Lagos economy while 20% of the Yoruba population contribute 80% to the Lagos economy. How does selling spare parts, cars, etc contribute in any significant way to the economy. The average Igbo graduate would rather die a job seeker than set up a company or start a business. Most Igbo graduates lose every sense of enterpreneurship as soon as they become graduates. Most Igbos in business are not graduates. This is not so with the Yoruba. Most Yoruba graduates set up businesses/companies if they cant lay their hands on a good job after graduation. Go to CAC in Alausa and see the number of young Yorubas registering businesses. These are the real people contributing to the economy not some illiterate and half-illiterates selling spare parts et al.
3. On Lagos being built with federal money Only the present day Lagos Island and Lagos Mainland were the federal capital territory. The remaining parts were part of the old western region. Even then these local govts have the highest population of indigenous Lagosians. Hence, much of Lagos is old western region
4. The true population of the Igbos in Lagos I will put the populations of Igbos in Lagos at 2million max. My estimate is based on the following: *Faith Tabernacle is a 50,000-seater church in Ota, Ogun state. An anyone especially an Igbo man living in Lagos, if he were not told authoritatively, will assume the population to be 500,000 and he would have been very wrong. *I assume all the 50000 worshippers in faith tabernacle are Igbos residing in one local govt in Lagos. *50000*20 local govts in Lagos gives 1,000,000 Igbos in Lagos. *I then decide to add 1,000,000 extra. * This brings the population of Igbos in Lagos to 2 million at most. Its fairly large but looks like 20 million in the eyes of Igbos. A crowd of people always look more in number than their true number. It cant pose enough any threat to the Yorubas. I still insist that Tinubu's personal ambition of wanting to become Senate President pushed him to make those Igbo appointments he made in order to make him look like a nationalist. He was not under any pressure whatsoever and he was in his second term at the time. Now it has backfired. I hope Fashola does the right thing.
5. On future violence between Igbos and Yorubas Igbos have a responsibilty to prevent any future violence with their Yoruba hosts by keeping to their legitimate business and taking their eyes of politics and political appointments. Pushing Yorubas to the wall can bring about a very deadly backlash and cause you to lose even the little you've got politically and economically. Yorubas may take sh.i.t for a long while but by the time they react it will be deadly. No doubt, both sides will suffer but at the resolution of the conflict, Igbos will suffer a very serious setback in all areas. The Hausa-Fulani founded and controlled the mile 12 market in Lagos pre 2000. After, violent OPC Hausa clashes, the Lagos state govt took over it. Hence, they lost their heritage. Remember, the Gani Adams faction of the OPC is very deadly and uncompromising. If they could invade Ilorin to depose the fulani emir how much more Igbos around them. There is OPC in the north.
6. On Igbo agberos I would say at this point that agberos are not equal to NURTW members. NURTW members where uniforms with their names inscribed on them. I have seen 1 or 2 non Yorubas in these uniforms. The real agberos do not where uniforms. The have no permanent base and they deliver their proceeds to Obas and Baales. Proceeds are usually shared among indigenes and they are usually indigenes themselves. I have never seen an Igbo in this category. 7. On Fasholas positive response Dont be deceived, the governor of any state is supposed to be father of all. He will not vent at the Igbos in open. No leader should do that. Even in Plateau state, the governor still tries as much as possible to hide his resentment for the Hausa-Fulani and appear neutral even though he is cursing them in his closet and planning their fall. But please dont start complaining when demolition of your "wrongly located" shops and properties start taking place. Also, increase in taxes will not favour you guys.Since you wont go and meet Yoruba folks to verify if they've paid their taxes. I see agberos harass Igbo drivers and conductors daily especially when they refuse to pay owo ile. This is after they've paid park dues. LASTMA is a nightmare to Lagosians anytime anyday but some group feel it more.
Rubbish! Now I can see Lagos will be ground-zero if you Yorubas try anything to deprive Igbo SETTLERS of land in Lagos. If you all cannot recognize our right to Lagos just like Ijaws, Ibibio, Urhobos, Isako, Bini etc have a right to Lagos, then no one can have Lagos. I pray that one day Lagos goes into the sea, but if that doesn't happen, Lagos would be best razed . . . And you all can go back to whatever trashy city that you hail from. Ibadan has been neglected all these years.
And which IGBO man is going to RAZE LAGOS? These IGBO people forget they have to pass-through, other Yoruba states (OYO,OGUN,ONDO e.t.c) before they get to Lagos. So they think those Yoruba states will fold their arms and watch their brother in Lagos, enslaved by some business men from the east? All these internet warriors should go and sit down. Every IGBO man knows his village. |

If Ohanaeze Lists Conditions For Fashola’s Endorsement
Then AREWA,NIGER DELTA GROUP, MEDDLE BELT people must Lists Conditions For Fashola’s Endorsement.
I do not know why these IGBO people are claiming the have major contributions to LAGOS.
For those of you IGBOS claiming to own landed properties in LAGOS.
Go ask your fore-fathers why they deserted their landed properties during the CIVIL WAR AND JUNE 12 1993 CRISIS.
The Yoruba people are most liberal and accommodating people in Nigeria today.
Because no Hausa or Yoruba man will dare try such thing in any Igbo land. When even the IGBO people are still fighting the-selves over territories in the South-East.
Every tribe in living in Lagos today, are at the mercy of the all Yoruba people. So for peace to reign those tribes must respect and recognize the YORUBA SOCIO-POLITICAL CULTURE OF LAGOS. |
