Thats real estate for you.. In every major city in the world, real estate is expensive.. My 3 bedroom house in Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt costs less than my shitty 2 bedroom house in Oniru, Lagos.. NOTE: My house on Port Harcourt has clean water that I can drink straight out the tap.. My house in Lagos, I can't even wash my clothes with the water because its brown in color. Yet... My Air conditioning in Lagos deteriorates at twice the normal rate because the air tainted with salt from the sea nearby corrodes metals super fast.. Yet, I am paying crazy money.. Next year, I am moving to the mainland and buying a powerbike with my rent money and I will still get a better house than I currently have in Oniru..
That Oniru is very Bad, i prefer Antony, Surulere, Maryland, Ilupeji and Yaba to anywhere on the Island. Even Ikoyi water is worst. |
kayswag100: God bless u!!!My friend some of those properties owners are loosing money. E.g Eleganzer Estate Aja, is almost empty and most of building are rusting away. |
Madam OP... Life is not a Charity... Those properties were built for profit, not as hand outs.. Try and go to big cities like New York, Paris and co.. It's the exact same thing. Same thing for places like Ikoyi, Lekki and GRAs across Nigeria. This is real estate business my darling. Property values are set for a reason. Most times to attract a certain level of clientele. Dangote would not buy a house in Ajegunle.. That's for a reason. A house in Ajegunle can never commend the same rent as a house in Lekki or Ikoyi, even if the house is bigger, finer and more equipped than the Ikoyi house. Even you sef, when you hammer, you would not want to live in a middle class area. It's just the way it is.. It's not wickedness, it's not government, it's just business and real estate. Property must get value.. If you want affordable housing, go to affordable places like Ekiti where a duplex goes for 350,000 Naira a year.
Well the issue here is that Nigerian properties are overpriced. There are lots of empty homes Ikoyi, Lekki and Ikeja GRA waiting for people to pay 3.5-5 million par year. Some properties in Lagos are more expensive than some eyebrow areas in US and UK |
@op you 100% correct. Even in Lagos here you see empty houses everywhere. Places like IKOYI,GRA Ikeja, VI, lakki and Aka are also suffering thesame issues. 3bedroom flat ensuite in these areas going for 3.5m-5million par annum. |
senora aquila: sent u a mail.EMMATOK1@Gmail.com |
This is an interesting article. We need good historians on this thread not politician. |
Sincere 9gerian: Mumu! Didn't you see the name of the author of the article? Didn't you see the disclaimer by SR? Stop pretending to be foolishThats what SR do in most of thier articles. So why quote SR? |
senora aquila: still have it.Is have 55k for the phone? |
senora aquila: u can check ur inbox. i sent u both a mail.Hi do you still have the HTC one. |
hardywaltz: For those of you wishing that Hon. Chidi Lloyd goes jail, I suggest u guyz wake up.GOOD insite. And to add, the Police has already destroyed the case with thier unnecessary lies. The competence of the CP will questioned in Court. |
theoctopus: You are talking nonsense as usual. You have nothing to say. APC and her supporters are full of lies. This morning it was GEJ flew 7 jets. This afternoon, it is a fake family denying a police case. What will you guys cook up tomorrow. Thank you for actually helping GEJ. You have won him more converts in the last few months than he had before. Keep cooking up more lies. Goodluck to you on that! You keep saying the family is fake, can you please show us the real family. What is nigeria turning to, you peeps are haertless. |
Sincere 9gerian: ^ ^You exhibit unbelievable foolishness. You talk of speculations but you did in your senseless post is speculate. That is the number one evidence that you'r eternally confused and daft.Guy Cooldown, if FFK wants to post such information, he will do it openly and not hiding in NL. Unlike you fearful ones hidden under NL monika to sell GEJ, FFK is bold enough to say want he wants. I am yet to see anybody who can arrest FFK for such an info. |
Hello to all Nairalanders in the building. I want to take Computer Science Course (Comp Sci) in University [Because I"Love Everything About Computation"]; So while am still waiting for admission, I want to start a Web Development program (Programming - Java, Javascript, Python & PHP) and I need a good (rugged) Laptop. I've set a budget of N85k (N85,000). But, Does Brand (Like: Acer, Dell, HP or Lenovo) really matter, or determined a good Laptop? Any advice? I'm waiting with great anticipation to hear from you...
LENOVO THINKPADS are the best laptops i have used. |
The only solution to Lagos problem is Massive decongestion and demolition. But people no go gree. |
guiddoti: Ironically multinationals, particularly, oil companies regard engineers as technicians. The truth of the matter is Nigerian universities have lost its glory long ago. This was in a case with foreign company like fmcti, they don't employ university graduate as an engineer, maybe the job is for diploma/ technical holderOnly in Nigeria do we underate technicians. In developed climes Technician can be a Bsc, Msc holder. I have seen NASA advert damanding for a technician with MASTERS. But some Nigerians see technicians as Uni dropouts. |
adetorosey: Stop the noise;In Nigeria ![]() |
The op is talking about international grading of HND vs BSC, and some people are talking about corruption ridden COREN and Nigerian Educational system. How many Nigerian Uni graduates are members of COREN . We just love to discriminate in this country. Most Nigerian HND holders go directly for thier Msc abroad. But Nigerian university with bad academic records, with insist HND holder go for PGD. The funny part of it all, is that some Nigerian universities discriminate other Nigerian Universities. It will be difficult for UNIMED graduate to do his/her Masters in OAU. |
Obijulius: Death is usually the revealer of secrets:Too much tribalism is bad. Is she the same lady in the alleged relationship with Amechi? |
Did i hear anyone talked about LAGOS-IBADAN road project? I go through that route Ojodu- Shagamu regularly and noting is happening. When i enquired, i was told JB is supposed to work on that axis(Ojodu- Shagamu) but no funding to start. Well i discovered is the government lied . The project fund is in the 2014 yet to be approved budget. http://www.tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/news/lead-stories/item/29373-budget-2014-lagos-ibadan,-other-federal-roads-to-gulp-n100bn.html |
chukwudi44: GEJ is calling his bluff because he has now become politically irrelevent and cannot even afford to win a mere senaatorial election for his daughter.A man who sleeps with his daughter-in-law and cannot even control his own children is politically worthless. Were he to be an igbo man he would have been long ostracised and buried in the evil forest upon his death. How is GEJ calling OBJ bluffs, when he was busy writing reply and doing meeting over OBJ letter. Any politician who ignores OBJ does that at his own peril. Yaradua tried it with Northern support, today he is sleeping. |
customized13: I don't think you like the idea of the seaportI have no problem with seaports, with the terms used to describe this particular port. Thair are difference btw lake, rivers and oceans. Ibeka is having a seaport and the name suites it. |
Ngwakwe: What is the difference between Seaport and your so-called Riverport?I am glad you called the Port of Montreal inland port(riverport). That's the point I have been making since. |
Ngwakwe: Abia State will dredge the river five miles to Atlantic Ocean simple. You still don't get it, even if you dredge the Imo twenty times. The port will be on the Imo river, it is still a riverport not a seaport. E.g the Lagos lagoons is linked to the sea. But any port built on the Lagoon is not a seaport. |
Ikengawo: The entire Igbo land looks like a city from Google Earth. The East is overpopulated because the landmass is small. |
Ngwakwe: I think you need a short tutorial. There are various names for large body of waters depending on the size, climatic behaviour, depth, source, content etc.The issues here is not just large water bodies, but access to the coast. Rivers is a coastal state, Abia is not. Imagine Abia and Rivers in two different countries. Can Abia dredge through another country to get a sea/riverport? |
Ngwakwe: Is there any sea in Rivers State?Yes Rivers State got access to the sea, but not Abia. What Abia is building is riverport and not seaport. Thesame noise was made about Anambra seaport, until they realized Anambra can only have riverport. |
Vessi: you seem too average to understand any of my posts. Can you please move on. |
SegzyJoe: It is a pity that many youth on this forum who failed to learn nothing of value to their lives have made Nairaland where pple dump all manner of stuff their library. You need not arguing with this People, they will support even the devil if he is on GEJ side. |
DerideGull: I guess you loved OBJ's letter because it was an expensive-"whitemail".Don't worry Asari too will soon claim to be the reference point of the OBJ letter. Country of Jokes. |
Rad1cal: You are advised not to make a fool of yourself any longerWhat's this one talking about. Should Al-Mustapha be taking seriously. |
Vessi: it appears you lack comprehension. You seem not to understand the meaning of comprehension. |
jmaine: Okay , you are not an APC member but an Anti-GEJ. I feel that captures youWho is anti GEJ. I see you don't know the meaning of opposed to GEJ' actions. Was Al-Mustapha's name mentioned i the latter. NOTING SAID MEANS NOTING IMPLIED. |
