The incident is not about Islam.

A guy decided to hold innocent people hostage for silly reason. FBI tagged him terrorist because he wanted to protest released of his fellow Pakistani sister who was unjustly sentenced to 86 years in prison in 2008.

Truly the arrest of the Pakistani scientist was unjust and many have protested her release. Several Muslim and nonmuslim organizations have peacefully protested her release for years to no avail. But this dude decided to take further step by violent protest. This is where he got it wrong.

In order to release the woman, govt of Pakistan and civil right activitists across the world must take appropriate legal action not by holding innocent people hostage in their place of worship. So this is the story. How does this concern Islam?.
