TOPIC: YOU ARE A SON NOT A SLAVE
READ: GALATIANS 3:23-4:7 (NKJV)

3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.
3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor [to bring us] to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
3:25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
3:27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
3:29 And if you [are] Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
4:1 Now I say [that] the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,
4:2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.
4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.
4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

THE MESSAGE:

Our text today shows clearly that God does not discriminate against anyone, regardless of his or her background, gender or social status. Anyone can become a child of God as long as he or she is willing to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (John 1:12). In addition, we also see that every Christian is automatically a seed of Abraham - He is counted as an heir - a person with access to inheritance of Abraham's covenant blessings. In Jesus Christ, Christians receive the adoption of sons and the Spirit of Christ with guaranteed access to the Father. We have become heirs of God through Jesus Christ.

Beloved, you have access to God's treasures as a Christian. As long as you know that your salvation in Jesus Christ is genuine, you can come boldly to the throne of mercy and obtain grace for your breakthrough and for intercession for others. You must realise that you are a son and not a slave; you are an heir of God because Jesus Christ brought you into the inheritance of His Father. God does not see you based on your past wrongs or faulty foundation. All things about you have become new. You can make demands in your Father's presence for sound health, restoration, divine enablement to carry out specific functions or even your daily bread. You are no more a servant, but a son.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for bringing me into Your everlasting Kingdom, Amen!

READ: ECCLESIASTES 2:18-26 (NKJV)

2:18. Then I hated all my labor in which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me.
2:19. And who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will rule over all my labor in which I toiled and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also [is] vanity.
2:20. Therefore I turned my heart and despaired of all the labor in which I had toiled under the sun.
2:21. For there is a man whose labor [is] with wisdom, knowledge, and skill; yet he must leave his heritage to a man who has not labored for it. This also [is] vanity and a great evil.
2:22. For what has man for all his labor, and for the striving of his heart with which he has toiled under the sun?
2:23. For all his days [are] sorrowful, and his work burdensome; even in the night his heart takes no rest. This also is vanity.
2:24. Nothing [is] better for a man [than] that he should eat and drink, and [that] his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God.
2:25. For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I?

THE MESSAGE:

The life of Solomon is full of various lessons of life. In our passage today, we are made to see that death is unavoidable. Every man will die some day and when this happens, whatever has been gathered with much labour and pain under the sun will be transferred to another who did not know how the wealth came about. King Solomon said "And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? Yet shall he have rule over all my labour in which I have laboured and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity" (verse 19).

Beloved, whether it is convenient or not, all of us will die and leave all we have gathered either righteously or otherwise to those we are not sure how they will manage it. It is important to note that it is useless to engage in evil in the name of making it at all cost. There is no doubt that God blesses His children. As you go about your daily tasks, note that God watches how you make your money. Remember, "as the partridge sits on eggs, and hatches them not, so he that gets riches and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool" (Jeremiah 17:11). Never forget that every man will leave his possessions someday to someone else.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, grant me grace to live on Your grace and not on my possessions.

TOPIC: MY LORD AND MY GOD!
READ: JOHN 20:24-29 (NKJV)

20:24. Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
20:25. The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
20:26. And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!"
20:27. Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand [here,] and put [it] into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing."
20:28. And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
20:29. Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed [are] those who have not seen and [yet] have believed."

THE MESSAGE:

Today we remember the life and ministry of St. Thomas, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ. His Hebrew name, Thomas, with its Greek equivalent, Didymus, mean 'a twin.' Thomas was a Jew and probably from Galilee (Acts 1:11). He was a fisherman like Peter and Andrew. The first mention of his name was when Jesus chose the twelve and sent them out in pairs. His life changed when he met Jesus Christ and he became one of his (Christ's) messengers who received power over all forms of diseases. More importantly, his name was written in the heavenly book of life (Luke 10:17-26). Thomas chose not to lay the foundation of his faith on hearsay; he was bent on seeing the risen Lord before he could believe that He had resurrected (verses 24-25). When Jesus Christ came around the second time to the disciples, Thomas was there so Jesus asked him to come over and touch His pierced palm. The apostle exclaimed, "My Lord and my God" (verse 28).

Beloved, as we remember the life and ministry of Apostle Thomas, we must remember that he was first called into fellowship with Jesus Christ and he obeyed. This means that he found and knew Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. You also must come to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In addition, Apostle Thomas chose not to depend on what others told him; he desired a personal encounter so that his testimony about Jesus Christ would be stained (1 John 1:1-3). You also need a personal and convincing experience of Jesus Christ to win souls to the Kingdom of God. Instead of going around to mix up the message of the cross, you need to cry out to the Lord for an encounter that will give you a genuine story of God's love. You should be able to say in humble adoration to the Lord, "My Lord and my God."

PRAYER Father, grant me grace to believe You even when it does not make sense, Amen!
