✝️🇳🇬 CHURCH OF NIGERIA
(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL

Date: 2025-01-13

✝️ TOPIC: DO NOT NEGLECT THE FAITH

✝️📖TEXT: Hebrews 2:1-4(NKJV)
2:1. Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
2:2. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,
2:3. how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard [Him,]
2:4. God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

✝️📜STUDY: Our meditation today cautions us to take seriously the message of our salvation from God, delivered through His Son, Jesus Christ. It is possible for a believer who has known the truth, walked in it, and got results, to lose his faith. If disobedience to the earlier messages delivered by angels and others attractedn punishment, how shall we escape if we throw away such a great salvation paid for by the precious blood of Jesus Christ? God attested to this salvation with signs and wonders, miracles, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We, as a commonwealth of believers in God's kingdom, are therefore called to hold on boldly to the faith we have received (Hebrews 10:23). Dearly beloved, the purpose of God for us is to serve Him in holiness and righteousness. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, so we must be wise and hold firmaly to our salvation in appreciation of our deliverance from the bondage of sin and death. We can now approach God as our Father, with freedom and confidence, and give ourselves to prayer and meditation on the Word of God, ensuring regular fellowship with other believers.

✝️🙏PRAYER: Help me, Lord, to hold on confidently to my faith all the days ofmy life, Amen!

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: SUNDAY, JANUARY 12, 2025
(Epiphany 1)
TOPIC: GOD HAS NO FAVOURITES
READ: ACTS 10:34-38 (NKJV)

10:34. Then Peter opened [his] mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.
10:35. "But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
10:36. "The word which [God] sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ -- He is Lord of all --
10:37. "that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:
10:38. "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

THE MESSAGE:

The statement of Apostle Peter in today's meditation shows the new dispensation of salvation revealed to all peoples, whether Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female. As Apostle Paul states in Galatians 3:24, "The law was put in charge to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith." For Peter, it took some time before he could be convinced that the salvation message was for all and that God was not partial. It took a vision from God (Acts 10:9-16) and the subsequent events that led him to the house of Cornelius, for him to realise that the Gentile world is part of God's salvation plan. The great event that occurred on the cross of Calvary is open to all who draw near to God. The Gospel is still available today for everyone who sincerely calls on the name of Jesus and seeks to know Him.

Dear friend, God sees and knows of your faithful walk with Him. He sees your strivings in prayer, the Word, and in good works. He is not partial and will not withhold His blessings from those who diligently seek Him. Your labour of love will never be in vain (Hebrews 13:16). He has no favourites, but honours all who honour Him.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the gift of salvation; help me to diligently seek You and to spread Your Word everywhere I go, Amen!

✝️🇳🇬 CHURCH OF NIGERIA
(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL

Date: 2025-01-10

✝️ TOPIC: GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS SON

✝️📖 TEXT: Hebrews 1:1-3(NKJV)
1:1. God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
1:2. has in these last days spoken to us by [His] Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
1:3. who being the brightness of [His] glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

✝️📜 STUDY: The passage today summarises the book of Hebrews. God had spoken to humankind in many ways, but now he speaks to us through Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, God spoke to the fathers through diverse means. Abram had a vision (Genesis 15:1); Jacob had dreams (Genesis 28:12;31:11);Ezekiel had visions (Ezekiel 1:1;8:3-4), but now, God has chosen to speak to us through His Son. The author of Hebrews clearly establishes the divinity of Jesus Christ: He is the exact likeness, expression, and image of God. Jesus' superiority over all else is summarised in his symbolic position-seated at the right hand of God the Father. Everything in this epistle supports this same basic theme: Christ is above all other things! Beloved, we live in a time where people constantly seek to reject the Lordship and Sovereignty of Jesus. But God has spoken to us through His life, ministry, death, and resurrection. This means we have to pay attention to the message he has for us-the message of salvation. We can also trust that his message is authentic because he is the perfect representative of God. Therefore, the only accurate revelation of God is found in Christ.

✝️🙏 PRAYER: Lord, I believe you have spoken through Jesus Christ, help me to listen and obey your will day by day, Amen!

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 08, 2025
TOPIC: DELIVERANCE FROM DESTRUCTION
READ: PSALM 5:6-12 (NKJV)

5:6. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
5:7. But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.
5:8. Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.
5:9. For [there is] no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part [is] destruction; Their throat [is] an open tomb; They flatter with their tongue.
5:10. Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, For they have rebelled against You.
5:11. But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.
5:12. For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as [with] a shield.

THE MESSAGE:

The psalmist uses very strong language to describe God's mind towards the wicked and sinful - they have no part in God except destruction. On the opposite end, the psalmist describes God's relationship with those He loves - they are able to come into God's presence to worship and receive counsel. The psalmist assures us that such people are constantly under God's protection. They will rejoice, sing always, and live a blessed life.God's eyes are constantly on all His creation; He is looking for those who would walk before Him blamelessly in order to bless and protect them. But His anger and judgement are on those who deliberately want to be wicked, deceptive, and rebellious against His will. Their end is destruction.

This is a wake-up call for us all. How have you lived your life? Are you living in obedience to God's will or in rebellion? Remember, God loves you and does not desire that any should perish in their wickedness but rather repent and return to Him.

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from destruction and set me on the path of the faithful, Amen!

*THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL.* CHURCH OF NIGERIA _(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_

*DATE:* TUESDAY, 7TH JANUARY, 2025 *THEME:* PRAY EVERYDAY

*TEXT:* PSALM 5: 1-5 (NKJV)

5:1. To the Chief Musician. With flutes. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation.
5:2. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.
5:3. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct [it] to You, And I will look up.
5:4. For You [are] not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.
5:5. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.

*MESSAGE:*

Today, David pleads with God to listen as he prays morning by morning. This shows that his first task each day was prayer. David's repeated appeals are the honest groans and cries ofa man in great need. The word translated "groaning" is used only one other time (Psalm 39:3, "musing" and refers to silent or barely audible sounds. The repetition conveys David's honest, heartfelt cry to God. He wasn't putting on a show or uttering his words in a controlled manner. He was calling out to God honestly in pain.

David, grievously oppressed by the cruelty and mischief ofhis enemies, earnestly beseeches God for help. He also mentions the deep malice of his enemies, showing how inconsistent it would be with God's character if they were left unpunished.

*PRAYER:*
Father, give ear to my words as I cry out to You daily, *Amen!*

*QUOTE FOR THE DAY*
God Says:

_"I have given you eternal life because you have believed in Jesus Christ."_ *John 3: 16*
