Wike should be thankful to Amaechi. When compared to peer states like Delta that is currently in debt to the tune of about N64 billion and is finding it difficult to pay salaries. Even Akwa-ibom that gets the largest allocation is in debt. |

SenseiX: PENSION FUND ASSETS Our attention has been drawn to allegations that N3.5 trillion of the pension assets were drawn down by the previous administration to finance recurrent expenditure. This is not correct. The amount being referred to is the current total value of pension fund investments in Federal Government of Nigeria Bonds and Treasury Bills. The pension fund assets are intact. Treasury bills and government bonds are adjudged to be the safest instruments for pension fund investments.

Cc lalasticlala most nigerians lack analytical reasoning. bonds and treasury bills are a means of borrowing by the FG. Now, what was the borrowed funds used for? To pay salaries and not develop infrastructures. Oshiomole is right. |

Saraki the SP a case study. you seem to forget the fact that the gov of gombe, shekarau, even vp sambo, babangida aliyu, sule lamido etc all supported gej against their brother buhari. Politics › Re: Whether Buhari Can Be Screened By The Senate- The Position Of The Law. by Enice(m): 7:45am On Oct 06, 2015 |
Sanchez01: Harristo, it's pretty much dicey than what you summed above. The Nigerian 1999 constitution by the military is terribly faulty and it really needs to be amended.
Going by Section 147, subsection 2 which states that , I guess it never occurred to the brains behind the constitution that a president may one day, want to oversee a particular sector directly by becoming a minister in his/her own tenure.
I believe the issue is complicated beyond what what the Senate/you (harristo) mentioned above. I believe the reason for screening candidates is to ascertain if they're up to the task which they intend to take on. It doesn't feel right, even though the constitution did not do justice to the present scenario, to have the president, the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed forces of Nigeria, go through the screening process like those he chose. After all, nominated ministers are asked to take a bow and leave.
I see no reason why the Senate is convulsing on this issue. Rather than seek ways to amend the constitution, the silly senators are interested in amending the constitution and granting immunity to the Senate President and his deputy. Rubbish! there's no complication on this issue. The operating word is "if he chooses to appoint". If he does not, nobody can force him to. In essence, it means he has retain that ministry for himself. |

Chaleeee: Ru
The constitution states otherwise. It states that all nominees must be screened by the senate. If buhari fails to appear and go ahead to be petroleum minister, then he has contravened the constitution and as such can be impeached and removed from office. Trust me if it comes to that, Saraki will joyfully remove him. hear yourself! You used the word "nominee". Is the president a nominee? |
Politics › Re: Buhari Must Be Screened If He'll Be The Petroleum Minister - Senators by Enice(m): 9:49pm On Oct 05, 2015 |
Ikiriye: Think properly,he was given mandate for the executive not minister.there are division of labor for crying out loud.he should be screened.this is the change mantra himself for he should lead by example. go get your facts right. A minister is part of the executive. It is when the president want to delegate duty that he sends the name of the delegate (minister) to the house. If he chooses not to delegate the duty of the petroleum ministry, nothing will happen |

Joromi1: That's if the young man or woman willingly decides to marry. Not when parents or neighbours force u to do it before ur time do you mean force as in looking for a wife for you? If that' the case, then it is wrong cause when you start having marriage issues, only love and respect for each other will make you overcome such issues. Do not allow anyone under any circumstance to force you to marry someone you don't love. Love is the key that would unlock tolerance, hope. Motivation, the zeal to make it for youamily etc. |

Joromi1: I don't encourage it because it's like somebody is deciding for u. Ur parents that nudged u into early marriage today won't be there when u start experiencing difficulties tomorrow it is better to experience and deal with difficulties at a younger age than when you are old. Getting married should not be about how old you are but about how emotionally matured you are. The question you should be asking is what if you don't make it? Would you still get married. If yes, then there is no need waiting. If no, then keep waiting. |

It is not the sexual pleasures that bond couples in marriage but the result or outcome of it =Children= Men can get these pleasures outside marriage. If no sex, then no children. What then hold a man down for life to a woman? After a number of years in marriage, most couples stop having sex. They indulge in other distractions like you know! So sexing keeps marriage going else it is like living with a man in the house. |

How senseless can you get? This is a war situation and anything can happen at anytime. There is no need of poshing up the place when that is not a permanent camp. Then their uniform signifies that they are always ready! Don't be surprised that they all have their Colt guns under their pillow in case something begins to happen.
You never experience army life before you just dey rant any how! Take time oh!! I think the president went there to sympathize with those injured in action (those with injuries from bullet wounds) not those that have malaria, head ache etc because those are kept in a separate ward. Now the point is have you seen a man being treated from bullet wound completely dressed? No, because it would be unethical for the doctor to leave his clothes on as this can lead to infections. Rareantagonist: Brethren, This is a desperate and urgent call from the throne of Grace that the brethren in Christ are about to make the greatest error of their lives by selling off their kingly heritage for a mess of pottage called "change". Change into what? Change into what happened to Egypt , Sudan, Lybia, Algeria and Turkey which were once flourishing Christian countries but because the brethren there also sold their souls on the premise of "it does not matter" they became the last set of Christians in those countries! Remember Turkey! It was the beautiful Christian country called Constantinople! Today it is history! The foundation of the planned islamisation of Nigeria was taken in 1989 in Abuja by OIC. Since then they have not looked back! Our Government gave them a contribution of 21 billion dollars then! Wonder then where the funding of boko Haram is coming from? They have painfully now infiltrated one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and offered one of their best Pastors -a Professor,a Vice presidential Slot! Now a larger community of that denomination now promotes this "change"! They did it in Constantinople ! Remember brethren, that the biggest denomination of Christians in the North - the EYN has been wiped off! All their churches burnt. You may say that it is the North it can't get here! They said the same thing in Sudan, Libya, Algeria and Constantinople! How come the brethren have become so dulled in the Spirit that they no longer are sensitive? We may be the last Christians in Nigeria if this grave error the brethren is about to commit is not averted! Our Lord Jesus is greatly miffed by our irresponsibilit y as His Followers! How come we no longer hear Him! The Great shepherd of the Sheep! How come that Christians have forgotten that this country was made ungovernable by these same people and Christians are holding the wrong person responsible? How come? The signs of the eventual Islamization of Nigeria are awash in the 1999 constitution where Islam, Sharia are mentioned more than 100 times.! Not a single mention of Christ or Christianity! You say it does not matter. Now, mark it you cannot amend the constitution without a bitter progrom! Brethren, the night is here! We must contend for the faith and our heritage which was handed once and for all to us by our maker! Don't relent, sound this trumpet....We will not be the last Christians in Nigeria! Amen. Rubbish talk. If not for Yaradua's death, would Jonathan become president? Was Yaradua not a muslim? Why all this bigot talk? We are all Nigerians and what we need is change from anywhere. It is far far better than the revolution that's building up inside of us. |

That's the bone of contention. Am waiting! You keep surprising me! How many wars have the Nigerian Army fought since 1984? (Remember Sierra Leone, Liberia, Niger Delta militancy, peace keeping to East Africa etc). Also, the Nigeria Army does not have any obligation to inform the public when decommissioning weapons. so as civilians, we cannot know. But what we know and have right to know is the budget which is a public document. From this budget, an analysis has been draw and you are here arguing base on sentiments! However way you look at it, the Nigerian Army cannot be using weapons bought 30 years ago. Question: do you still see these cars. Citreon, nissan blue bird, 404? These were hot cars in those days but they are all gone. So also these archaic weapons |

Heck, even the US uses the Abrams Tank as its MBT. Note that the Abrams was designed between 1972 and 1979, then entered service in 1980. The ones being used in Iraq today date from the 80s till present. Other countries even scramble for desert storm leftovers!
Which school una go sef?
Na waa oo. Do you know that weapons when outdated are decommissioned? Some are resold like tompolo buying those war ships or boats, some are donated to lesser countries like the US Navy donating war ships to Nigeria, some are kept in antiquity museums like those displayed at NAF base Kaduna, while some are destroyed.
