Kobojunkie: Well, technically, that is not true. There a golf courses with lakes that are knee high, even for adults. To commit suicide in one of those, all one has to do is lie flat in the water and restrain oneself. It is possible to drown oneself even in a bathtub, so I do not see how doing same in a lake out on a golf course will be impossible. you're just being argumentative. |

Immitation is not innovation, Mr Man. How many state goverment collects tax in nigeria? If that is not innovation, then you should have a rethink. A country where people hardly pay tax and are oppose to change? Where it is difficult to take even one naira from a man. why did other state governors (even the FG in the case of the NIPP project and road concession) wait for lagos to act before doing theirs? Because Fashola is an achiever. they learn from him. Is that not innovation? |

bilms: THE TRUTH ABOUT LAGOS
Many would say that the Lagos government has performed and i would ask, show me their works.
Lagos State has no doubt changed, but so is every other states of Nigeria. Taking a look around Lagos,i can't but lament poor government presence in most part of the state just like other states. Many are fast to praise the government for doing well due to the media hype, but truly,i have not seen anything in Lagos that worth the massive praise the government had received.
Can you please mention exactly what the masses in Lagos had enjoyed from the government? Some would jump at comparing Lagos with other states and it is reasonable, but in comparing two states, you should tell us how much does the state you compare Lagos with earn from FG and what they make internally. In my view, the truth about Lagos state is that,it made the poor poorer to the comfort of the rich. You seen to forget that lagos has always been innovative in policy making. She is the first state to show that IGR can be used to develope a state without going cap in hand to abuja, First in PPP projects, first in BOT projects, etc. All this because of the visionary leadership of Fashola. Lagos leads others follow. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Are Spiritual Husbands Real? by Enice(m): 10:20am On Mar 19, 2012 |
wirinet: The issue of spiritual spouses is an interesting one. I would want us to look at the phenomenon logically. I want people who are more knowledgeable in spiritual affairs to educate us on the following questions; 1. Is it a doctrine of the Christian or Islamic religions or a stubborn vestige of out African Traditional Religion. I suspect it is from our traditional religions because I do not think there is any reference to spiritual spouses in the Bible or Koran, but has always been part of our traditional religions.
2. Why is it common among black Africans but rarely heard of in other societies like Arabia, European and even orientals.
3. How does the spiritual relationship work? Does the person who is involved have any say in who he/she is betrothed to? Is there a ceremony or an initiation; consciously or unconsciously? Also is there a whole family of spiritual family ie children, uncles, fathers, mothers, grandparents, etc.
4. What is the purpose of spiritual sex? Is it for spiritual procreation?
From my personal experience of wet dreams when I was younger is that it is a psychological state of mind. Out dreams reflect our obsessions, aspirations and inhibitions. It is very likely that a person who is sexually inhibited as a result of religious principles would most likely transfer his/her sexual fantasies to his/her dreams. The same thing applies to a person who lacks food and is obsessed with food, such a person would always eat food in his/her dreams. Between the ages of 17 - 24, I was always dreaming of making love with women and so bed wetting was a serious problem. It got to the point I was wetting my pants up to three times a day. I was so disturbed that I seek medical advice. My doctor then (who happened to be my friends junior brother), laughed and told me not to worry, he said once I start having regular séx, the dreams and bed wetting would stop. And guess what, since I had been having regular séx, I had not had any wet dream. That is my own personal experience with "spiritual wives", it might be different from others. sir, you so hit the nail at the particular spot! |

you seem to completely overlook all the good things that has happened between the two of you, you just want it all RIGHT NOW (sound like a desperate person to me.....maybe due to body clock). we can clearly see that you dont really care about how this man FEELS, hoping to change who he truly is. i suggest you accept him for who he is or move on with your life. - this post is so self centered! If a man loves se.x so much, should he not get married to satisfy his needs? He is just wasting the girls time period! |

The total revenue accruing to the federation account (oil sales plus tax like VAT, duty, royalties, etc) is shared by the RMAFC according to an agreed proportion by the federal, state and local govt. The share of the FG is what you call federal budget. Mind you, the LGA's collect rents, states collects income tax, while the FG collects corporate tax. for you to have been in a 7 year relationship before now, you must be above the age of 27. since both of you are old enough to get married and there are no financial constraints, i would suggest you bring up the issue of marriage because at your age if you should have sex at all, it should be with someone you are engaged with. Put your cards on the table. If he really loves you, he would get serious immediately as he would not want to loose you. If he doesn't, then goodbye to old rubbish. Don't let him tie you down and waste your time. note: marriage should not exceed this year, else you are wasting you time with him. Even if it is 50000 naira, plan your marriage with it. |

That is 100% falsehood. The man doesn't stand a chance in court. Most people think their native custom is law, lie. Any small boy can impregnate a woman but not every man can father a child. If the woman in question can prove that the so called man abandoned his family's duty and obligations, then she has a good chance. But this will be difficult because most likely, this while, she never reported her plight to the necessary authority, making the case "your word against mine". This is one problem with nigerian women. They wait till the sh.it hits the fan before coming out to voice their frustrations. |

Now why is he hiding his budget when the president and governors present theirs to the parliament. That the CBN act says CBN should take care of her budget does not preclude a parliamentary scrutiny. The guy shd wake up and learn constitutional matters. It's not all about islamic banking, irrational comments, policy inconsistency and anti-13% derivation stands. Neither is it justification of boko haram or doling out N100M to his kins men. There have been several church attacks after kano mayhem, am still expecting his corporate social responsibility. There are better northerners that can man the post if quota system is a must. Empty vessels make the loudest noise. He uses media noise to cover his inadequacies. 30 million naira on Hotel bill for 6 months
85,000 Naira on food a day. . .
This is grounds enough for her to be fired.
Forget the capital market, sieze all her assets and jail her for atleast 10 years and upon release, she should be barred from holding any public office for her life. .
Ask for the accusations made against the Committee chair, I think the EFCC and the House should investigate this shit. .
I am slowly but surely loving where Nigeria is going. . . These are allegations levelled against her by some insiders and have not been proved to be true. What the house would have done would be to call in the EFCC to investigate the issue because as it is, the house is out of order. You don't accuse someone without proof. |

The CBN governor is doing the right thing. You cannot bring politic into government Monetary policy. In todays world, the difference between the rich and the poor is information. How can the CBN submit it's budget to politicians? Meaning at every point in time, before the CBN can take timely decisions, it needs to inform the NASS. A case in point is the bankgate saga. If the NASS was privy to such info, they would have inform their friends who would have gone to court to seek an injunction restraining the CBN from sacking them. Also, their friends will withdraw their funds and sell out their shares leaving us the common men to suffer the consequencies. Savanah bank is a good example. |

They have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that their rights were violated. Most people would be shocked to know that the constitution also gives you responsibility. A protester's rights stops where a supporter's rights begins. A case in point, i support the subsidy removal, i am in my car on my way to work. Protesters barricade the road preventing me from accessing the road. The police comes to disparse them and they refuse to bulge. Then, the police use force. Whose right is violated in this case? |

soladisc: I heard it from good source that;
1. The House committee chairman was paid some overseas training expenses on capital market last year, he collected the money for the training but never attended.
2. The committee chairman demanded for some money before the commencement of the hearing but the DG refused
3. The younger brother to the committee chair participated in a rencently conducted recruitment exercise by SEC but was not successful (probably even after lobbying, no wonder the committee chair was insisting on recruitment issue)
4. The allegations were sponsored by some top management staffs of the organisation
The director of the Capital market institute claimed that the DG has not been supporting the institute, but when asked in what areas he needs support, he said he wants to be training SEC staffs on capital mkt development, issues etc. I was shocked when he was asked " WHAT IS YOUR STAFF STRENGHT" he said 6 including his driver!
I was surprised when the DG raised the issue of bribery against by the commission chair and question his credibility to chair the committee, he brushed the issue aside but he could accuse her of financial impropriety
as for me I can see that the commission chair is not so much interested in the topic of the hearing which is the state of the capital market & solution to the current capital mkt problem but on a personal vendetta. The DG was not also allowed to answer most of allegations against her. Even if someone thinks or know she has committed any offence it is only fair that she should be allowed to defend herself. We will see to the end of this episode as we wiil keep in touch when the house resumes the hearing on Tuesday. This is the best analysis on the issue at hand so far. Most People just jump to conclusion without studying the facts first. |
