For now yes. It is a consolidated salary all allowances inclusive. When the earned academic allowance become regularised you might expect more allowances. For now the earned allowances come after every ASUU strike session angry

Your statement is pure falsehood. The senate summoned the IGP in January over the Benue killings.

GavelSlam:
The Senate had summoned the IG to appear before it to answer questions on why Senator Dino Melaye was handcuffed by Policemen and the spate of killings and insecurity in various parts of the country.

From the first of January till March the deaths should have motivated the NASS to send an invitation but this never did until one of their gang members was arrested for gun running.

You are are the one speaking from a position of ignorance, falsehood and arrogance. You first stated that NESCO is a govt agency in reply to @three. Its apparent you assumed so because of the corporation's name.

Can you show proof that NESCO is a govt agency? Will be waiting for your reply. You cannot bully everyone here with that thuggish attitude.

Stop bothering me with your ignorant and unintelligent nonsense, I asked you for facts, not the same silly, ignorant rubbish and your made up political rubbish.

Politics / Re: Nigerians Can Now Buy And Sell Electricity (2 MW Minimum) - Fashola by enlady(f): 12:49am On May 11, 2018
The fact that you are ignorant about NESCO and its operations does not change any fact about its existence. This is not a political debate
deomelo:
[s][/s]

I'm not interested in your factless rant.

How do you even support the fact that a major power company with power plants and 5 dams doesn't have a website and doesn't have to?

Politics / Re: Nigerians Can Now Buy And Sell Electricity (2 MW Minimum) - Fashola by enlady(f): 11:21pm On May 10, 2018
Anyone from Plateau and parts of Kaduna will substantiate the facts about NESCO. They are an electricity company from the colonial times. Originally part of a conglomerate including the defunct Amalgamated Tin mines of Nigeria and others. They do not have a a website. Everything he said about them is true. They supply electricity to parts of Plateau and Southern Kaduna. Also supply to companies like Nasco in Jos.

deomelo:

Instead if asking me not to believe what other people say, why not show us facts to dispute that assertions with.

Show us the law or the Constitution that says State governments like Lagos State can serve State residents.

You are yet to support all your flawed assertions in this thread with facts, even ordinary website you can not produced, but you are asking other people to crosscheck their fact.

What a joker.

Politics / EXCLUSIVE: Presidency Asks INEC To ‘slow Down’ Voter Regi by enlady(f): 9:04pm On May 09, 2018
The Presidency has directed the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu to slow down the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration in Nigeria, LeadersNG learned.

The presidency according to sources is jittery over massive turn out of people in different registration centers across Nigeria.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu is scheduled to meet with INEC commissioners next week to discuss the new directive of the Villa.

An INEC source could not tell our correspondent on why the chairman is summoning the commissioners to Abuja for an emergency meeting, but the presidency source confirmed to LeadersNG that the meeting was as a result of the directive from the Villa.

A highly placed INEC source who preferred anonymity said, the Presidency is worried over the massive campaign and sensitization being carried out by interest groups, opposition leaders and churches on the need for Nigerians to obtain their PVC as that is the only way they can effect change in 2019.

Sources said the new eligible voters might likely vote against the president and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC due to insecurity, massive corruption, unemployment and slow pace of progress being witnessed in the country as against hundreds of campaign promises made by the ruling party.

LeadersNG correspondent who visited some churches within the city center confirmed that churches have embarked on PVC sensitization drive with many boldly displaying the message enjoining members to go get registered.

LeadersNG further learned that the presidency believes the massive registration that is ongoing across Nigeria is an another grand plot by opposition forces to vote the president out in 2019.

The Presidency according to sources is worried about the number of people that are being registered in Southern part of Nigeria where the President’s popularity is on the average.

Lagos for instance, witnesses over two thousand people daily getting registered.

The registration which is scheduled to continue till November maybe temporarily suspended in Southern part of the country, the source said.

All efforts to reach the INEC spokesperson on phone as at the time of filing this report proved abortive as his lines were switched off.

US blocks Attorney general Malami’s lawyers from taking a cut on $500m Abacha Loot

The United States says it will only deal with Nigeria on a government-to-government basis for the restitution of $500 million Abacha Loot, senior presidency sources have informed TheCable.

Officials of the US department of justice (also known as DoJ), according to the sources, told President Muhammadu Buhari pointblank during his visit to the US that they would not deal with any third party in the restitution of the funds.

Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation, had attempted to engage private lawyers who were going to take a cut as “legal fees” — even though they did not play any role in the recovery of the stolen funds traced to the former military head of state, Sani Abacha, who ruled Nigeria from 1993 to 1998.

The recoveries were made in 2014 under President Goodluck Jonathan and domiciled with the US government — and all the lawyers involved had been paid 4% of the funds as their fees.

The funds were to be returned to Nigeria on the condition that the federal government would sign an MoU to avoid the mismanagement associated with recoveries under President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Politics / Re: Killings: Military To Deploy Boats To Monitor Benue Waterways by enlady(f): 7:47am On May 08, 2018
If the bolded is true, we will not be having the continuous carnage in Benue. It is time for Buhari to appoint new service chiefs. They might have fresh ideas to sop the blood shed.

satelliteDISH:
Makurdi —As part of efforts to stem the recurrent attacks on riverine communities of Benue State by suspected militant herdsmen, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters has concluded plans to deploy boats on Benue waterways to check the activities of the marauders.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai who made this known in Logo Local Government Area of the state at the end of his tour of some communities plagued by herdsmen crisis in the state, said the army was already deploying and positioning enough personnel to patrol and monitor the affected communities.
Buratai said: “One very important thing that I have discovered is that the troops are well positioned and are performing their duties excellently well and have already given the people the confidence for them to know that there is security and can go back to their homes, this is very important.
“We are increasing troops to be deployed to cover the area. You know, that place(Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba states have a common border) is sort of where the three states converged, they have a common boundary.
“So, it is very important for us to look at it and see how we can further reinforce troops and the mobility on the water is also critical which we are also looking into.
“Already, there is a planning committee on the ground from the Defence Headquarters, which is working on this and there are a lot of boats that have been brought in for deployment on the waters.
“So the people should be rest assured that the place will further be safe for them to go back to their farms and be rest assured there is security for them.”

Violence in mostly pdp controlled states? I think that violence is a good sign.it shows that theres more competition for delegates and resistance to imposition.the best way to resist political impisition is forcefully because we know that the appeal panel and other authorities will never do anything about it.finally, who ever emerges wont be able to withstand the incoming apc candidate.again,am thinking ap deliberately sabotaged the primaries to see who pdp would from.its just my subjective opinion.

Politics / Throw Back - President Buhari Too Weak When Corruption Concerns Allies— Keyamo by enlady(f): 9:15am On May 07, 2018
Festus Keyamo SAN

President Muhammadu Buhari is too weak when it concerns his allies in the fight against corruption.

It appears that the President is too slow to act on the issue of the suspended secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal”.

These are the views of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Festus Keyamo. Speaking in an exclusive interview with signaturetv.com.ng in Abuja, Mr. Keyamo said that the government has not addressed conclusively the corruption allegation leveled against the secretary to the government of the federation and DG DSS

“You have not mentioned all, the Ikoyi cash is also an issue. My worry is the non disclosure of the report of these investigations”

Politics / Re: Yar Adua Was A Failed President, Stop Rewriting History by enlady(f): 8:59am On May 07, 2018
Thank you for writing this. Yaradua was the chief of abandoning projects. The worst of his gaffes to me were in the power sector, rail projects and CBN.

- Yaradua stalled all the NIPP projects nation wide claiming he was going to investigate the monies already invested. He started the malicious toga people attribute to Obasanjo about wasting 16bn dollars on power with no results. Truth is the actual statement he made was "16 billion dollars invested in power with no results...". The fabrication of his statement to read wasting was coined by the media. That was a lie because power projects were ongoing simultaneously all over the country when OBJ handed over. It took Jonathan to revive the power projects and draw up a power road map. Even the current power minister Fashola has pledged to continue with the road map.
- He brought in Sanusi clearly on clannish/ethno-religious sentiments to mess up the banking sector
- He stalled the rail master plan OBJ had put in place before leaving power. It took Jonathan to resuscitate it giving rise to Abuja-Kaduna rail, Abuja light rail among others

revolt:
You didn't even state the real negatives, ...

He removed our best CBN governor because he came up with a super policy which would hamper operations of bkackmarket burea De change mallams ie the REDECIMALSATION pklicy.

Obj removed fuel subsidy almost completely before he left. The mallam quickly introduced it and tripled subsidy payments as his solution to combating fuel scarcity...thus creating over night billionaires like otedola, indimi, ifeanyi ubah etc

Hurriedly dismantled objs system of decentralising the arsenal of the military by taking bulk of heavy equipments back to kaduna.

Under his watch sanusis first official duty was to attend the international bankers forum where he demarketed Nigerian banks, claiming their shares were over priced ( till date still trying to understnd the meaning of that statement), and they were over hyped.. The resultant effect was the stock market crash and destruction of the stockbroking industry. Till date, stupid youths think sanusi was a good CBN governor.

Introduced amnesty for militants, creating ministry of nigerdelta... A very useless clueless move.

The banking sector suffered heavy losses under his watch and he quickly reversed all independent power licences granted to transcorp , geometric power, and returned to our useless civil service NEPA/ can't rmba the last useless name..

He ruled by a few village looking type cabal, sitting on the floor like Islamic clerics, and set the precedence for presidents ruling via Bluetooth on hospital beds abroad.

He and buhari are the worst speakers we've had as presidents with a nasty retarded style of incognitive reading abilities.

Until buhari, he was clearly the slowest president in our history in the name of due process.

One wonders what eight years of his presidency would have been. Redundancy.

Oga Naptu2 thanks for this thread. I did some reading and found out electronic voting is not entrenched globally as most Nigerians tend to think. Even in the west it is mostly used for diaspora voting and some municipal elections. Only a few countries like Belgium, Brazil utilize electronic voting for all statutory elections. France recently shelved the idea due to concerns about cyber security. I read a report detailing how easy it is to manipulate electronic voting and the widespread instances in Brazil. In India the electronic voting system is a hybrid with voter verified paper trail. I do not think are we ripe in Nigeria for now
