iskilayodele: Does NOUN truly wave carryovers for Post Graduate students who have met the required 30 united credits ?
I just screenshot this from NOUN website. Any clarification? It depends on the course. If your have a CO in an elective and you have passed all core courses and met other requirements, you will graduate. The elective won't hold you. This I have seen multiple cases. |

ev4real: Dear Enskynelson, Thanks so much for the job you are doing here. Please I have a concern, I summited my project last year November and am yet to see the result. A classmate that we summited same time has seen hers. What might be wrong? Is there anything I can do to confirm status? I need to graduate next month and am already worried. Thanks in advance. If you are in Education, there was a message I posted few days on that. First, go to your study Centre and make the complain to check if proper submission. Ask to see the PAS printout that is supposed to be the formal evidence for your submission by your study Centre. That will be the first thing to do. |

4601CE: Hi, if someone fails a course, and then redo it and pass. Will the F be added to the cgpa calculation too? Yes, definitely. That's why those F affects your CGPA. Your Total Credits Carried will be higher. Your Total Grade Points Earned will be divided by the TCC and the TCC will include the time you had CO and the time u passed. 4601CE |

ThinkSmarter: Pls sir if it happens that a masters student fail, let`s assume two courses (Only 2 courses out of the total required courses in a programme) with total CU of 5. Will one be required to write only the two courses or borrow another courses to meet up with the minimum CU for cgpa calc? Also i got 49 in a course gst807, but i failed it. Does it mean 49 is not a passmark at MSc level? You can register only those 5 units provided you don't have other outstanding courses. You must not carry other courses along provided if you do these 5units and add to the existing ones, you will be able to meet up with the minimum required. YES, 49 is FAIL. In M.Sc., you either have A, B, C or F. Nothing like D, or E. Hence, the minimum CGPA for graduation is tied at 3.0 (average of C). Imagine 'passing' all your courses with D (2.0 CGPA) and not being able to graduate! This is why the minium score to pass a course is pegged at 50/100 ('C). Cheers. NB: Most of the M.Sc requires at least 32TGPE before you can graduate. Check all the courses you have have passed. Add their units together to find out your TGPE. Note however that M.ED, MBA, M.Sc. Public Health requires much more. |

Sikay19: Someone said I can't study Political science or Development Studies with Merit in NCE result. Is that true ?
And then, can I purchase the form before the registration closes and make every payment for the registration later? Requirement for DE Political Science is at least a C in Political Science in your NCE results. I think you are qualified provided you meet the O Level Requirements. Yes, you can apply for the admission now and register next semester if you cannot Register this semester. |

Note. Mass communication is under social science while ICT is science. Also the waec requirement of physics and other science subjects is not met. But the person has a current work experience in ICT and wants to further. Not possible. Even the O level has disqualified the person. |

Bidemi1608: Hello, please I will like to know when the clearance process of graduands of 2021_2 will be? Are we still going to have our convocation this year? And where will the convocation take place? Thank you Some Study Centres have begun clearance while others are waiting for official info about the convocation before they begin clearance. Convocation is currently scheduled for next month (all things being equal). The venue is NOUN HQ, Cadastral Zone, Jabi - Abuja. It may be virtual though due to COVID19 concern. You will get to know before then. |

I have registered, did the exam and passed Gst 301 before it got scrapped, now I tried registering Gst 302 but it doesn't (as well as a few core courses) appear on list of registrable courses in my portal... Should I be concerned or am I covered since I've already done Gst 301? Do not register GST302. GST301 = GST302. |

Seaseason07: Someone? C'mon! What are you saying. U want evidence. I have evidence. If u don't understand what I said, go back there and read it again but this time, with your mind opened. Don't argue with your mind closed against light. You have your point... But it's not about recognition. It's rather descrimination and these we see everywhere. |
Education › Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Enskynelson(m): 2:01pm On Feb 23, 2022 |
Seaseason07 You talk about cram and pour... 1. The most independent learners out there are NOUN students. Imagine studying to understand yourself... That is NOUN. 2. You go to State University, you can earn your degree by sleeping with some lecturers to earn marks... 3. U can choose to bribe them to earn marks. In NOUN, the chances for such is quite slim.
4. No lecturer will harrass you sexually; no lecturer will tell you you must buy handouts or stand the chance of failing his course; no lecturer will give you scores based on your face, tribe or religion... In fact, the one marking scripts has very little chance of being biased towards the students.
5. NOUN will not victimise you because those grading you have no knowledge of your identity.
6. Talking about strike... I need not explain further that NOUN students enjoy programmes without strike. Yes, there are loopholes but there is no University in Nigeria that can boast of the advantages hilighted above.
7. No University in Nigeria can boast of cult-free studies.
In conclusion, I want to remind you that when NECO was first introduced, there were discriminations... But today, NECO is gradually becoming equal to WAEC. The future of the world is Technology. NOUN is the future. Screenshot this, frame it and hang it in your living room for your children's children. |

Seaseason07: NO! They won't remove me because I'm saying the truth. I'm trying safe innocent ones from falling into that pit hole so that they don't make a grave mistake because wasting 4 years and money is so fuc!<in' grave mistake In fact , one with small mind can commit suicide. You're already in that shit, don't MISLEAD others ok! I can give you the contact of someone doing Ph.D outside Nigeria with NOUN M.Sc. Information Technology. Yes, NOUN has her challenges but you don't come here with all truths mixed with lies. Many persons working have earned promotions with NOUN cert and u say the cert is not recognised! Yes, there are discrimination but it's not with NOUN alone. You don't expect your degree from Caritas University to be compared fairly with that of UNILAG or UI! If it's recognition, NOUN certs are well recognised because the programmes are Nuc-approved. Recognition issue? NO. Discrimination? YES. |

iskilayodele: So therefore, there is no hope of graduating this semester. That being said, if I re-register the course and pass it this semester, would I be able to get notification of result for my programme immediately after this semester? The thought of waiting till 2023 to receive my certificate is painful!!! Statement of Result is always made available immediately after your name appears on the graduation list. If it is not sent to your Study Centre, you can always get it at the HQ in Abuja. Yea, M & E is a very CORE course and it's often difficult. All the best. |

Chiden: One last question Sir, how can I apply for change of course? You apply at your Study Centre. Cost is 5k. Do remember however, that you have to choose a related course otherwise, it will be better to start a new course. Changes from one Faculty to another for instance are not advisable. |

Secondly, is it possible to pay the school fees twice (in installments) It's possible to pay in installments but u MUST pay all before the close of registration.
