It was obvious from last season that this team was one of the laziest. OGS has tried to correct that. He has brought in better defenders. Next up is the midfield and attack. I expect this season to be a season of many fixes.

Possession football wey Rashford and co never play in 3 years. It’ll take time before they adjust.

I remember when Scolari joined Chelsea, and wanted them to play a certain way, they were dropping points everywhere. It wasn't that the players were not good, but they needed time to get used to that style. These things take time. It took Liverpool time to get here. City has been winning the league almost every two years before Pep came. He still changed almost everybody in the team. Just look at that bench. How anybody will think OGS doesn't want that is very strange to me. But this is the position of the club, they're now being too careful in the tw. Probably because of all the bad transfers they have had in the last couple of years. We can't even sell our players, nobody wants them unless for some ridiculous amounts. Hopefully Sanchez comes back and fits into that Lingard position.

It's even worse when you consider that he's the only creative player in the team. He's strong, he can draw fowls, he can beat his man and he has nice through passes. Yes he loses the ball but with two guys behind him good at retrieving and passing, Pogba will do well. They went to bring Fred that can't pass

The words we were hearing last season was “Mou is holding them back” “Mou is too defensive minded” “Mou is not allowing them to enjoy themselves”. We controlled the game but players weren't daring last season. You had a coach that will leave you out to dry in the press if you make a mistake, how do you want to go all out and try something? The team was playing like they are strangers, from defense to attack. They couldn't string passes, they didn't understand each other. There was already a feeling of two sides in the dressing room. The ones that would always get the stick vs the ones that could do no wrong.

You're an old timer here but have refused to see reason. Common sense should let us know that no coach will be pleased with this current team, definitely not OGS. But because he didn't say so in the press you are pissed at him. He gave young the captain and threw him to the bench. The same Rojo that they claim is in OGS plans is who is looking for another club. Jones and Smalling are no where near the first team. He doesn't say anything negative in the press, that's who he is but he is working behind the scene to effect the changes. This is only quantum physics to those that have sworn not to see reason.

He wants players but the club is weary of being taken advantage of. This project is a work in progress and will take some time. I'm pissed that we couldn't settle the RW and CM positions but we have to look carefully at what the club is doing and understand it.

The same Mourinho that said he was pleased with Lukaku performance at the left back position is who you want us to use as reference. He never criticized Lukaku, Smalling, Young, but was always on Pogba, Martial and Shaw case. Please he is gone, amen to that

Greenwood shouldn't be the one to replace Lingard. He can replace either of the front 3, Martial, Rash or James and not Lingard. That's a creative midfielder position. Unless Greenwood is one, I don't see how that would change anything.

I said it here many times that Mourinho didn't play counter attacking style at United. He dominated games but lacked the players to break down defenses. I watched a lot of our matches to know that what we played wasn't counter attack.

That he loved counter attack is not entirely true. Against stronger teams, yeah, but then in a season, how many times do you play against stronger teams in the league? We never did under Mourinho, because 2-3 matches doesn't count for counter attacking

Even that year when Pep went trophyless, you could clearly see the way they were playing. They were not struggling to create chances, they create bucket load of chances, scored goals and concede as much as they scored. It was obvious the defense was the issue and the next season, he fixed that up. Now he has won the league back to back and will prolly do the 3 peat.

Ole style of play is counter attacking, there’s no point trying to lie to ourselves that it isn’t. Go look at all the match we won under him and see how the goals came by.

Counter attacking is not a bad style of play, but you must get the necessary players to execute the style of play and this is where the blame is on Ole.

I just don't get it. When pep came to England, his team will pass and pass and dominate games but will find it difficult to score. He even had to buy Jesus to replace a whole Aguero. This was a team that just won the league a year or so ago.

Pep won't do shit with the current players we have, especially in midfield and attack, but if the club can't go all out to get those players, there's nothing he can do. I'd he had remain in Bayern, he won't do more than winning the league every year which is a given for every Bayern coach. And that's because Bayern transfer policy is very strange. You don't see them going after expensive targets. He's having it good at City. He is probably the best coach right now, but he won't do shiit with some of the players some top teams parade

Just look at that stvpid Martial. He was immobile and played for himself until the 80th minute or so. Rashford kept disappointing his generation and James, who was mobile enough had little expectation of himself.

Left to me, Pogba has no business playing from deep. He's our most creative player, probably the only one. In France there's grizzy, Mbappe etc that can create something out of nothing. We don't have that here. He should be part of the front 3 or just behind them, not from deep

We need players who can carry the ball too. The speed of play yesterday was too slow. The passes were too sluggish and the players took too many touches on the ball before doing anything.

Yes! Players strong on the ball, not one that will roll over when nudged a little.

I can see what OGS is trying to implement, but just like Pep, he will have to bring in some certain kind of players and spend a lot of money. Not every player can do this. Rashford thrives in space, where he can run on to the ball. He won't get that kind of space against teams that sit back. OGS is too trusting and it will cost him

Without players that can beat their man, it will be difficult for this team to play against teams that sit back. We need dribblers

So now that both Pogba and Rashford has lost penalty where do we go from here?

I said it here that a solid midfield, one that dominates play, create chances and contributes to goals, will always make a team with average defenders better than solid defenders with average midfield
