I seem to be hearing this name Remo Omokri everyday. I learnt he was part of the Jonathan administration, how come he seems to make so much noise now?

I have not heard him criticize the large scale stealing that took place under the Jonathan administration.

I did not see any tweet when the Andrew Yakubu $9.8 million and £74,000 was liberated.

I am waiting for the day that Nigerians would be objective.
I think he said something about Yakubu. Yakubu was sacked by Jonathan but APC, the then opposition, kicked against it

What a foolish statement in that last paragraph. So the people actions are justifiable or are there no security forces and court to arrest and try the suspected criminals?

Not really, most recent grads are still trying to get jobs/raise a family alumni issues would be the last thing on their minds. Also the higher number of students means more people, so the logistics of getting them together is actually harder.

Its easier to coordinate a group of 5 than a group 20.
We should be more focused on solving problems not looking for jobs. This should be our orientation.

It is not about coordinating group of students but about having a system where potential excellent students struggle to graduate. I wonder when that became a criteria, that the tougher the better, when we both know things are/were tough because the purposely made it so. To achieve what I don't understand.

that is not true. more than 80percent of CU lecturers are products of FG University and most them enrol their wards into public universities. if u say life is easier at CU, I concur but saying that they are better, I disagree. wait sef, CU isn't even the best in Nigeria according to all rankings and can you compare the number of foreign students in public universities to that of CU (that's if they have foreign students) if truly they are the better, foreigners wont opt-in to FG universities.
Is there a place or site we can go to confirm the number of foreign students in a nigerian university?

Stop cherry picking. No true alumnus from the public uni would stoop to measure dicks with you or your CU.

A child who dines with an adult DOES NOT make the child an adult.
This child and adult nonsense you people keep saying everywhere makes no sense. Children all over do grow up to surpass parents. I'm sure your parents pray same about you and you pray same about your kids ot future kids. So if you still disagree CU has a better system and is more likely to produce better graduates, then you'd agree with me that it's just a matter of time

Yet it still from these unis that you lobby for "2000 professors" to lecture in your beloved CU.....SMH

I should be asking you the question. The theory and practical training are there in the public uni, its just that the funding for consistence are inadequate. Yet they still manage to produce graduates who can compete ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYDAY....not your "daddy-mommy" school.
As someone that finished from a top federal university I can boldly say practicals carried out there are the basic secondary school types. If funding is the problem that's a topic for another day. But at least you realise there is a problem which CU don't have.

Yes lecturers are sourced from everywhere including federal universities and they give their best more in the private university. Is this not an indication that the federal universities have a bad system?

Steady decline is a relative term, you don't generalize. Its just like me saying that ALL private uni are glorified secondary 'ajebo' schools.

Your lecturer may have felt the need to revisit those notes. It doesn't in anyway downplay his professorship.

Its just a matter of time....let's see how long CU will remain 'in form' for competitiveness.
At bolded that's the problem. Nobody cares what kind of graduates they're churning out but it's to shout 2000 professors in my faculty up and down. Doesn't make sense at all.

Which is better to you? Practical based or theory based mode of learning?

There is no basis for this comparison. You don't expect to get less value for paying so much (cut throat fees). CU charges millions! Therefore, they should give value for the money parents pay.
So you're saying CU is better because they charge huge fees?

Though i find your topic petty, this post up here proves the point of people who say public Uni's are better than private Uni's.

Coventry University is 12 years, its Alumni would definitely be younger than that of older universities. That you consider this a point shows the level of your intelligence.

As for the notable alumni's, can you tell me one university that doesn't have any notable alumni?
PS: You should also define what notable means to you, because i'm pretty sure no one outside of CU knows any of the guys listed here.
With the high number and quality of students admitted every year we should expect better from federal universities.

Lol....na so....and the unis you mentioned are not competing with foreign ones abi?....pls...ui and co have enjoyed high reputation and ranking before CU was conceived. They are still consolidating on those achievements to attain better accomplishments.

UI, OAU, UNN, UNILAG and ABU naterials are not your mate in academic excellence, entrepreneurship, innovation, and employability. Look for private unis to intimidate.
Well the point is that these federal universities have been on a steady decline over the years. I remember my lecturer then using a note he prepared years ago to lecture us. smh

After all, you found out its not easy to have a first class in a federal university, why? Is it because their students are dumb or they not well taught or the criteria for excellence is high? . I don't know where you got your stats from but as at 2016 UI led in research.
Even if CU produces 1million first class tomorrow, that's the work of the money they paid and CU criteria for exellence might be low compared to federal universities.

I can't be dumb enough to sight fallacy without addressing it immediately, you must have undergone a lot of stress to cook up your story. Are those lecturers in CU from Harvard? I bet majority are from those Federal Universities you condemn. Oh, that may indicate that those lecturers are not worthy to lecture in CU. Just calm down, CU will keep employing graduates of Federal Universities to lecture their students even tho they produce 100billion first class in a year.
I think this argument is about the system and not the students. That lecturers or school takes pride in seeing students fail and suffer baffles me a lot. What kind of system is that and wtf are they trying to achieve? After all we still have jobless first class and second class upper from federal universities so what's the big deal?

Update on suspended courses

WE just called to seek for clarifications from the Director, National Open University of Nigeria, Owerri Study Center, Dr Mrs Theresa Ettu.

Yes, the information about the suspension of some programmes are correct. But apparently, students are misinterpreting the release.

National University of Nigeria only suspended admissions on those programmes starting this semester. It affects those applying starting from this semester. Returning students are not affected as they will be allowed to complete their programmes.

But believe me, those suspended programmes will be restored in not long a time. You have to understand the management is working to clear grey areas with National Universities Commission.
It do happen; it is normal. Every University in this country do suffer the same fate from time to time.
So press no panic button yet..
Thank you!

No matter the resolution PDP can never be without corrupt people especially that useless gej sitting there. Now apc is not even helping matters, things have become worse , hardship, hunger, crime, in fact every thing is on the increase as if there re on competition all because Nigeria is govern by old stupid men who re not in touch with realities. It's high time the youths comes up wt a party and come up with policies that can work so that together we can take back our future from this old men who knows nothing rather than securing their children and grandchildren future.

Look at Buhari for example, he s not in the country for over a month now, spending tax payers money on his health in London use to old age, imagine someone who say buy naija to grow fa. As in there re no places to rest in naija. PDP is dead so should be apc in 2019. Nothing to sell to the people, we need a new party comprises of youths beside the youth is estimated to be around 75 million in population....................It's tym to take over OUR own future. The future is now!!!!!!!
The youths are not corrupt?

Another bullshit from buhari is that TSA. Someone should tell this man to reverse that policy and see our economic activities improve. Yes despite its advantages, decisions of the nature of TSA are exerted little by little cos of its implications on the economy like we have now.

Someone from mosaic era just came packed most cash in circulation, hence, strangled the liquidity od the economy and didn't expect the implication of having a receding economy.

Time for Buhari to ignore his sycophantic zombies and listen to objective wailers and stir us and his sick ass out of doom. At least, start from presenting his "i work no more" letter. Thanks
TSA should never be reversed. It has helped in checking corruption and wastage.

I don't think anybody has stopped you from paying your tithes directly to the less privileged. So go ahead and make yourself proud instead of looking for one excuse or the other.
