PassingShot: Democracy is not suitable for Africa. It has made things worse, much worse.
There are many countries doing very great without democracy. Why must we practice what is alien to us? See what the most expensive form of government has done to our dear nation! Corruption, division, hatred, bigotry, deceit, killing and maiming all because of political positions.
Na God go punish the colonial masters. Dem for leave us to our varous traditional monarchical systems. We will have found our ways to greatness naturally. In 1974 we were not practising democracy. If people say let everyone separate and pursue greatness individually there will be objections |

Abagworo: What was the awareness in ahriculture before Buhari? When did pepper and tomato producers turn millionaires? How many times did you view Nairaland headlines in the past and see a lot of topics about Nairalanders growing crops at home? My friend the truth is that before this admin most agricultural works was on paper but right now most of us are actually going back to farming because of high awareness. I for example for the 1st time in my life bought a plot of land and planted tomatoes and pepper this 2016. What if most people are turning to agriculture to get out of hardship or find something doing? How many would voluntary choose to become a farmer if given multiple choices? |

omokab: Mr man it is their fault. I red what wole olanipekun said about technicality in judgment delayed. Firstly, we are talking about bribery and corruption from the side of judges in the country not from the side of lawyers. Lawyers were only doing their work, if at all they really know the case can't be won but they will still try and convince judge for the fact that they are getting their money. Does technicality mean that they should collect bribe(judges)? You can as well read what baba Falana said about all these judges and NJC. They are too corrupt. You can read section 12(2) and 13 of AcjA and 43(1) and many others to justify if what DSS did was right. Pls don't let us support our criminal leaders because of religion, ethnicity for any reason, they are only killing us and enjoying with their family. USA has done something related like this when judges are too compromise. It's like we're talking about two different things here. Yes judges do collect bribes but that's not what we're talking about. If Wole is able to frustrate and prolong trials does it mean he has bribed the judge? Well maybe that's the case. In most cases it's either the defence or prosecution lawyers that call for adjournment. I recently read about a case involving the fg and Dasuki. The case was adjourned why? Because the fg couldn't produce him in court. Why is that? No explanation from the fg. Why wouldn't they want this case to be dealt with once and for all? Like Wole said if delay tactics is done to your advantage it is excellent but when done against you the lawyer or court becomes evil. Please note that I didn't say anything about the current corrupt cases because I know nothing unless what appears in the papers. When facts with evidence begins to come out then I can have a say. |
Politics › Re: Udoma Doesn't Know Nigeria's Debt Profile - The Cable by eph12(m): 7:48am On Oct 11, 2016 |
blueto: This is an international and national embarrassment, if as a budget minister you don't know the nation's debt profile, then how do you plan a budget?
No wonder the 2016 budget was botched and padded even after using the template of Jonathan's budget.
are these the kind of ministers that buhari took 6 months to find?? anyway it takes a certificateless cattle rearer, who “regularly skipped attending school” to appoint fellow bunglers with incessant and heinous gaffes!
A finance minister that could not predict when recession will end, A sports minister who believes athletes do not need training,a finance minister who thinks recession is just a word, a science and technology minister who aspires to produce pencils in two years,an information minister who wants to generate jobs via masquerade dressing, a finance minister that could not account for what 2.2trn domestic loan was used for, an interior minister who uses his security to publicly shine his shoes rather than secure the interior of his country, an agriculture minister who fights for land for cows instead of farmers, a labor minister who threatens banks with revocation of license when they retrench workers due to bad economy, a communications minister who wants us to pay 9% tax on calls, a transport minister who gives one President credit for a railway built by another President, an economic adviser who wants women to donate their jewelry to help government fight recession and a Presidential spokesman who believes critics are ‘wailers’ all led by the certificateless cattle rearer who believes #ChangeBeginsWithMe not him, though he was the one who promised it!
the other day, the ambassadorial nominees of the certificateless cattle rearer could not recite the national anthem!
Nigeria is in recession because of the ill-managements of buhari's administration. The problem is not “lack of funds” but lack of dexterous, disciplined and qualified individuals in the govt. And also those who does not want nation to progress by making plans to vote and rig in the certificateless cattle rearer in 2019 to continue thwarting the economic progress of the nation. If only you didn't support the previous administration this would have made more sense |

omokab: If they like they should tear their certificate and close down all schools dealing with law. Bunch of thieves supporting corruption. If they find a common man stealing a tuber of yam English will finish from inside dictionary. And they will instantly give a judgment but when it come to where their pocket will be full with dollars and pounds they will be talking of technicality. How do we expect this country to be great like others when we don't have good leaders. Did you read Wole Olanipekun SAN interview? Lawyers representing people in court know how to frustrate trial especially when the clients can pay. This is a common practice all over the world and the judges can only judge on facts presented by the defence or prosecution team and not what they read on newspapers. This is no fault of judges. |
Politics › Re: Judges Boycott Courts In Abuja To Protest Arrest Of Colleagues by eph12(m): 6:33am On Oct 11, 2016 |
onomeasike: When you fight corruption (the judges), corruption (judges) fight back. They know what they are doing, it's not for the love of country But the executive is not corruption? So many reports have been written about people around Buhari but we don't see DSS breaking down doors. This judges that were arrested must be taken to the court for trial but the fg wouldn't get the trial they want if they continue this way. |

SuperS1Panther: If the issue of our judges turning to Bureau D'Judge is not a National Security issue, then nothing can be again.
Don't you realise a corrupt judiciary can make the citizens revolt against the State one day, causing anarchy, revolution and even war in the land? The bolded is kinda funny. You don't realise too that the actions of a ruler can one day cause revolution in the land? Am not holding brief for those corrupt judges but if you give a learned friend a tiny hole they will exploit it to their full advantage. |
Politics › Re: DSS Was Wrong, They Should Have Written The Judges Before Arrest: by eph12(m): 2:05pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
SuperS1Panther: DSS came with search warrant properly signed and the law clearly states that arrest can be made without an arrest warrant -- section 44.
What is the crime of DSS? They should have invited the corrupt judges into their office to drink milo while discussing the issue abi? DSS produced warrant for the PH justice? Nobody reported that. The other justice had warrants produced so no complaints. |
Politics › Re: DSS Was Wrong, They Should Have Written The Judges Before Arrest: by eph12(m): 1:49pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
SuperS1Panther: If criminal and corrupt judges should be invited, then armed robbers, kidnappers, drug dealers must also be invited before being arrested. Are judges above the law or do they have immunity?
What is good for the goose is good for the gander and no crime is greater than the order. A crime is a crime.
Corrupt Judges have been arrested in US by FBI (capital of democracy) and in Ghana.
Condoning corrupt judges in the name of democracy is a rap.e of democracy in itself. Producing a warrant before an arrest is the norm in a normal society unless the suspect is caught in the act. What you don't understand is that if this act by DSS is not backed by law there can be no case. You're only giving them enough ways to frustrate the trial. |
