BetaThings: I am not supporting anyone Anyone who kills unjustly should be put to death - no middle ground to this and I don't believe in the fallacy of does penalty does not deter I don't care about deterrence, I am interested in sending to the void those who cut the lives of others short
But the truth is that it is possible that the entire truth is not being told When Jos people killed and ate Muslims in 2010, a lot of people did not know because it was not reported But it did happen
Did you read this
If the guy is saying no to reprisal attack, it does not mean that criminals should not be prosecuted They have an association (miyetti allah or whatever it is they call themselves), this same association has issued statements / used the press several times to list so-called conditions. What is stopping them from giving the same level of publicity when crimes are committed against them so that the whole country will know the "entire truth"? |

ItsMeAboki: You are 100% correct; the poor perception of the public for the herdsmen is the result of information mismanagement where one side has the loudest voice and ear of the public.
The media has woefully failed in giving factual and balanced report over the issue; they often invite only one side to discuss or relate opinions forgetting that there are always two sides to a story. In this way, the herdsmen are always seen as the aggressors; while their nomadic lifestyle, poor education and lack of exposure lends them no voice and access to the media to counter such false claims against them. The bias by the media is not surprising because majority of the houses are owned, manned and controlled by the largely Christian southerners who in turn have long established open hatred for the Hausa Fulani and Islam.
At the same time, political leaders are fanning the embers of hate and mistrust among the ppl through so many unguarded utterances and loaded speeches of hate as ethnic champions - in order to advance their selfish agenda.
It is unfortunate that we live in a country where some ppl are hell bent on disuniting it. Yeah so true, you are very right. Like the 97 - 5% utterance that Buhari himself made. He has caused far more disunity than any other Nigerian leader and led the way for others to do same. Eod. |

adilbee: That's the truth, most of the crimes committed against Fulani go unreported and unpublicized while much of those committed by the herdsmen get publicized. Many people taking Fulani's as ignorance people and very easy to cheat them, but they don't know that a Fulani man will never forgive, they are ready to kill or to be kill. I can see it is only northerners on this thread that are supporting the evils of these herdsmen. We know you guys do not value human life and can shed them at will but the rest of us do. Imagine anyone justifying such evil. Very appalling. Truly we have little in common with these bloodletting, anti-peace people. |

kettle84: did the so called population increase happened on 29 May 2015?
Fulani herdsmen became emboldened to kill Nigerians because their grand patron Buhari is shielding them.
up till date no single herdsman has been apprehended ever since they started killing Nigerians in their hundreds all over the country. And neither has the presidency condemned it. This is not only unfair, it is wicked. We have a president in support of murderers. May the blood of all those killed continually torment these wicked leaders. |

prettyboi1989: which do u believe more? ur sentiments backed by zero facts or the fact that the pastor clearly stated he wasnt involved. or do u just derive pleasure in castigatin pastors. I have once attended a seminar where he himself recommended setting up trusts for tax reasons, that is why I know there is no way he wouldn't have been in the know, it is his church and he keeps a tight rein over the finances, trust me. This is not about castigating pastors, no. |

prettyboi1989: he appointed the trustees agreed. my stance then and now was that they didnt take his permission b4 the investment. it has also been clearly stated that the pastor was not involved. I'm sorry but it's very naive If you believe he wasn't in the know at all when HIS CHURCH'S money of such magnitude was being invested. He didn't make the "formal decision" because by law he couldn't but he certainly gave it the nod. |

You don't seem to get the point here. Those decisions could not have taken without the awareness of Ashimolowo because he set up the trust, had a say in appointing the trustees as well as overseeing how they manage the funds. So you really think a whole 5mil GBP plus will be invested by the trust without his say? Oh please. |

bbmpin: Some agreed!
We can both agree also that "most" eventually end up lost!
It's never a good thing to be born into a dysfunctional home, That's why "family care" is a very "important topic" in Any society today
Studies show that most criminals, rapist etc became who they were because they lacked love! Going by your suggestions, those "some" should have been aborted because in your opinion "most" kids from dysfunctional homes become rapists and criminals. I am simply pointing out that if we were to use your standards those "some" would not exist today. |
