TheStronghold: don't mind them. Some people are in their feelings, some are igbos just filled with hatred for the Yorubas and no to criticize this, and a very small amount of people are thinking clearly You couldn't just help yourself, had to bring tribalism into this. It's a shame when people look at every darn thing through the prism of ethnicity. Empathy zero, tribalism 100, what a shame. FYI, Those people are human beings first and foremost before being Nigerians, Igbos, Yorubas or whatever ethnicity they may be. |

onetrack: Suicide is actually a sign of a country's development. Many of the most developed countries have high suicide rates, at least they did until drugs were created to keep people from killing themselves. That's very true. We're so developed, we've got great healthcare, security, employment. Very true. |

AngelicBeing: Good question, when l made a similar comment few weeks ago some lunatic came insulting me , telling me that lagos has to develop and if it means destroying and making people homeless it is fine, l disagreed and the guy was mouthing off and talking rubbish with insult to me because l aired a contrary view, a responsible, emphatic & caring government will look / think of ways to ameliorate / reduce the suffering the masses are going through and not add to it, why not provide succor, provide rent for 3, 4 or 6months to those who will be displaced by this action, we have the elderly, children, nursing mothers etc who are caught in this cross fire, and when you now describe or call the country a zoo , you are mobbed, nonsense, useless government I can't even believe people think it is alright to displace people from their homes without any compensation - simply because they are not the ones affected, very selfish behaviour. I really do think we get the leaders we deserve. Lagos has to develop agreed but people's rights should not be trampled on. The Lagos state government should do the right thing, that's the least expected of them. |

oyienootieno: May God increase your wisdom. . Let us forget sentiments, they were issued a warning, they refused to leave. Without demolition and rebuilding how can we experience development.. That they were issued a warning is not the point, the point is what compensation did the government provide? |

Analee: pls xplain more, waz d functn n hw do one use d spinach,it is bin chewed raw or wat?pls i nid a detailed xplanatn. i think the easiest way is to use it to make a liquid soup (note it's different from what we call soup in Nigeria). Basically, once you have your spinach leaves: - Heat some oil (i recommend olive oil because it is rich in vitamin E but you can use regular veg oil) in a saucepan over medium heat and gently fry onions, garlic, seasoning for 2-3 minutes until softened. You can add some dry pepper as well. - Add in the spinach leaves, some water and boil for a few minutes. - When it's cool, blend it together and that's it. The whole thing takes about 15 mins and you can keep it in the fridge/freezer for a few days. Take it from Day 1 immediately it starts, and continue having it every day. For the first time in my life, I can now carry on with business as usual. RoyalBlak007: ♤does what?
♤ease cramps? It reduces cramps, reduces the flow, and most importantly replenishes nutrients back to the body. Spinach is considered a "super food" because it's rich in so many nutrients particularly Iron and Magnesium. |

Jhulyan: IT'S POINTLESS SENDING MAILS TO MIDDLESEX UNIVERISTY. MIDDLESEX UNIVERISTY IS IN AFFILIATION WITH APTECH GLOBAL WHICH IS IN INDIA. IT IS THROUGH THERE THAT CENTRES GET THEIR FRANCHISE. SO IF YOU SENDING MAILS, SEND TO TO APTECH COMPUTER EDUCATION HEADQUARTERS. MIDDLESEX WON'T GIVE YOU ANY MEANINGFUL RESPONSE CUS IT DOES NOT DIRECTLY CONCERN THEM. Unlike in Nigeria, universities and companies in the West are particular about who they establish affiliations with, they can consider withdrawing their affiliation with a company bringing their name to disrepute, so contacting them is an indirect way of putting pressure on Aptech to ensure they do the right thing. |

But is there no formal procedure to handover govt property in possession of former civil servants on retirement/leaving post?
The level of corruption at all levels is sickening.
Why is there no death penalty punishment for blatant corruption to scare people?

ndoeyopbennet: I didn't contact Middlesex but I sent a series of emails to the head office. I NEVER got any response. I sent emails to even the branches, managers, heads, etc, they never responded. This got me thinking that they may be working together in this or they just choose ot ignore it because he's remitting their share of the tuition to them.
I'll send an email to Middlesex right away. It initially skipped my mind.
Since the thread was created till now, I've been trying to get the man to pay the concerned staff but he brought a cheap lawyer and involved DSS to threaten the ex-staff to back out. We are still trying to look for diplomatic means but this post is important to deter people from falling prey to this scam. We will file a case at the industrial court soonest. We are looking for volunteer lawyers to help for now. Very good step. This thread is creating awareness so other people don't fall prey which is key, but definitely also important to get redress for the victims. If possible, when contacting Middlesex University I would recommend formal letters (with all evidence documented) in addition to emails. I would also suggest getting it out to the media / newspapers, and possibly the state government too. For Aptech, if you can get the name of the global CEO, you can also reach out to him/her via LinkedIn. |
