Jobs/VacanciesRe: 5.5m Nigerians Lost Their Jobs In The Last Years - NBS by ephi321(f): 10:10am On Jun 06, 2017
For all those using N-Power to tout job creation under this government:

Please deduct 200,000 NPower recipients (earning 30k each) from 5,500,000 (majority earning above 30k) and tell us the net figure.

This man's bad luck doesn't have limits. It's not about individuals losing jobs, but also the families and dependents relying on them. The impact goes beyond individuals. Dropshot I can see you are viewing, please be bold enough to drop a comment! tongue

As at August 2016, 4.58 million Nigerians had become unemployed since the President Muhammadu Buhari administration took power.

Your head dey pain you shey?

Of all the revelations in that article, the only thing you guys could pick was the inaccurate "9 out of 10" statement?

Now, can the VP's team and you and your bunch of OMC chatbots talk about the other names in the article?

Let me list them:

1. Tunde Irekera (a managing partner at SimonsCooper who is the present Director General of the Consumer Protection Council.
2. Segun Awolowo (the VP's brother-in-law, Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, which SaharaReporters lambasted as an utterly corrupt fellow -- http://saharareporters.com/2016/03/25/segun-awolowos-reign-ruin-nigerian-export-promotion-council and was spared in the recent shakeup by Pastor Enelamah despite the plethora of complaints).
3. Yewande Sadiku (Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission -- http://dailymail.com.ng/biographyprofilehistory-yewande-sadiku-nigeria-investment-promotion-commission-nipc-executive-secretary/).
4. Jide Zeitlin (Chairman of the Board of National Sovereign Wealth Fund Investment Authority and lambasted by SaharaReporters for being accused of shady practices in India -- http://saharareporters.com/2017/05/13/nigerian-government-appoints-man-questionable-character-board-chair-sovereign-wealth-fu-1)
5. Funsho Doherty (DG of National Pension Commission (PENCOM))
6. Benjamin Oviosun (Executive Commissioner, National Pension Commission in contravention of Federal Character Principle of one nominee per geo-political region)
7. Akin Akinwale (Executive Commissioner, National Pension Commission in contravention of Federal Character Principle of one nominee per geo-political region)
8. Alex Okoh (DG of Bureau of Public Enterprises)
9. Olukayode Pitan (Pastor at RCCG--Tabernacle of David--who was made the MD of Bank of Industry)

Or do you think we are kids here? That AG midget is a bigot and corrupt fellow. A million publications would not change the reality.

I can condone your stupidity in quoting me on flimsy issues, but don't drag names like Hucienda and Lady Ephi321 who were objective observers on that thread based on available information.

Now call all your dumbos and let them explain the 9 names aforementioned.

Nonsense.

Pushing for such while still in acting capacity would be very stupid of him. The North will view it differently and when the attacks come, the south east will quickly join in attacking him. If he can be attacked by the north and south east unfairly over ministerial nomination and appointments of domestic aides, what then will happen if a military university proposed to be sited in the north is moved to the south? Only a substantive southern president with a united southern support can take such decision.
Most people far prefer Osinbajo than they ever will prefer Buhari, so the south east joining the north to attack him is just an excuse. In any case, I hope this will continue to be put on the front burner because it's a very dangerous indicator for the rest of the country whether south east or south south or south west.

Osinbajo is the vice president while Buhari is the commander in chief of the armed forces. Sensitive decisions like this stop at the table of the president.

Again, it will be very difficult for an Osinbajo to forcefully push for something like this with the current acrimonious relationship between the south west and east. The people of the south east will quickly join the north to attack and label him a tribalist and such can affect his future political fortunes. The recent Dr Farouk Ismaila attack that was published by, the sun, vanguard, eloboam.com and other ibocentric platforms readily comes to mind.
I'm surprised none of the SW leaders has ever raised this issue either, it's a critical one.

The "acrimonious" relationship between the south west and east has no bearing on what Osinbajo can do or not do. Afterall, he can push for some of those bases to be located across the nation as long as it is outside the North which is already over-skewed. You are just using the supposed acrimony as an excuse in my opinion.

It's a very dangerous trend and I think it should be brought up in the National Assembly, unless as I said you guys are fine with the status quo.

I agree with you absolutely, some of the military training institutions should be in the south and not entirely in the north. One would have expected Jonathan to correct some of these anomalies but he was more interested in sacking Yoruba civil servants from Ministry of Aviation through Stella Odua. Hopefully, things like this will be corrected in the future.
Sigh. We keep revolving around Jonathan. I've already said let's put the rest of the South aside for now and focus on the SW since you guys are the ones closest in partnership with the North. What is the benefit of having Osinbajo in power if he can't influence this in some way? The Tinubus and other South West leaders, why hasn't anyone raised an eyebrow over this very vital issue...?

I also don't think "hoping this will be corrected in the future" is the right approach. That's almost like resigning to fate, unless of cos you guys are happy with it and don't mind.

hmmm trust me the use of oil is here to stay forever not because there are not alternative methods but because with oil you can control nations. this world and the oil is about control and power and not necessarily the intrinsic value of the oil itself. the oil is a means to an end and the end is control and power. so the value in the oil is not the money it brings but the fact that they use it for geopolitical power manoeuvres. point being oil is here to stay forever and nigeria will always be in the forefront of the oil wranglings and any body who wants to interrupt that will be nuked back into the stoneage. be warned. this is not 1967. this is 2017 and you igbos are playing with genocide

Same US that has shale now? Plus there are other countries producing oil, Nigeria does not have monopoly of a product that may soon be rendered irrelevant with the current focus on energy transition, just a matter of time. You guys are on a long thing, looool.

Apart from privately sponsored projects like those of Dangote, there's no assurance that the govt funded ones will be completed. Look at the River state monorail for example, it's turning out to be one of the whitest Elephant projects in this country's history
All those funds are sitting in private pockets somewhere.

Your assertion is shameful. That GEJ after about 6 years in power with all the oil money of US $140per barrel at a production rate of 2.2million barrel per day, the highest in Nigeria history, was only able to build without completing it, a very short distance railway between Abuja and Kaduna!

Even IBB that people say institutionalize corruption in Nigeria, in his days when government revenues were like nothing compare to what GEJ made, IBB still built the 3rd mainland bridge in Lagos; which cannot still be matched till date. How then shall we hail him.
You mentioned GEJ, mentioned IBB. Fair point. So what has Buhari built?

Do you know how many people are in need of that job you think you got? And how many of these politicians divert monies meant for the masses? Saying thank you to your HR is a personal thing base on your understanding of life. Am not sticking my head for or against it. All am saying is that people should be appreciated when they do right because there is an opportunity to do otherwise. Desmond as done right. Sikena. I wish the member representing my constituency does same. Bros pls am not here to argue on issues like this. Go check out other deeds of my Desmond for his people. This is just one of many. He deserves kudos...
fyi, I'm not a bro.
The reason other members are not doing anything for their constituency is because they know Nigerians have no standards. That is the same reason they divert money, no accountability, people will never ask them.
Kudos to Desmond quite alright, but it is his job he is doing. That is what he was voted to do.

We don't have to agree, but I stand on my point that politicians should be made to deliver. It is not a favour.
