igbeke: You got that part right. I also want us to stop seeing this issue as that of Igbos alone. We should use this opportunity to fight for equal right and justice for all if we must remain together. Come to think of it, if the North starts their hooliganism today, it wouldn't affect only Igbo but every Southerners living among them. If there is fairness to all, no one will complain. Look at the issue of the order of arrest El Rufai issued. No one has been arrested. The guys even went as far as daring the police force. Do you think the same thing would have happened were it south here? Well said. There is a wider issue at stake here. The nepotism and unfairness being promoted by this govt in particular needs to stop. Buhari is not the president of Northern Nigeria but of Nigeria. |

mubar: No one is holding the Nigeria to ransom. How about the northerners who are controlling over 85% of the Oil blocs in the east. How have you benefited from the so called "Born to Rule" governance of the northerners. We don't want the norterners style of ruling anymore, its always problematic. The Afonjas too are affected in anyway, even if they are not consistent. Quit supporing them. And for all the youth residing in this country, I had thought we should've come together to fight for our rightd as youths. We should all open our eyes and see that the governement don't care about us. They only need us for war, because of their selfish interest nothing more. The Hydrocarbon potentials of Nigeria is in S south mostly only some part Anambra basin we still exploring which in the recent studies shows that gas is more of oil geologically take note not in South East, For ur call to the youths to be one united OK I go with you and is what we dream to see Guy Majority of their population have had no benefit whatsoever from the region being in power, so what exactly is the purpose of this power? |

9jakohai: Funnily enough, it was the intention of the 6334 system we practice to give some form of vocational education at JSS level.
I recall back when I was in secondary school, our Introductory Technology teacher in JSS2 lamenting that we could not have practical lessons in woodworking when we were learning about it in our class then because we did not have a woodwork workshop (we learned the theory only).
In my opinion, it would be a good idea to learn some basic vocational skills at JSS level. After all,I did do Agricultural Science at JSS and SSS level...and yes...I went to farm (our Agric Science teacher was too practical minded....if he had the funds..I suspect the guy would have set up a small pilot farm with animals and plants to teach us)..and learned some stuff (and even now have a dream of one day setting up a chicken farm....layers and broilers...to sell eggs and meat) Yes, the 6334 system intended for vocational studies to supplement the formal education and I think that's the way it should be. One shouldn't replace the other else there is the danger of key skills becoming obsolete. Lol @ your agricultural teacher! For me, we had to do practicals as part of Agric science, each person had a very tiny plot of allocated space to plant and groom which made it real. I think that's the way education should be - balanced. What's stopping you from pursuing your dream? |

9jakohai: Because the people that make the digital age possible ...that make it work ......are those who underwent vocational and technical education....
It is the technicians who keep the power going, who build and repair your it stuff, etc that keep the digital age going. A Junior secondary school serves a completely different purpose from a vocational school. The vocational/technical schools should be built separately, not the reverse of converting primary or junior schools to it. We just can't seem to get things right in this country. Besides, what exactly is the link between vocational skills and the digital age as you claim? |

Paretomaster: Will u shut it, intolerance how?
For many months u, and ur ppl have been spitting fire, and brimstone, u never see anything wrong with it, why is the agitation all centered around Northerners? U insult, and curse them anyhow, yet they ignore u.
You got tired and even start asking if they exist on nairaland.
Just a declaration, and u ve all lose ur mind, be sincere, what would have happened if the Northerners say just 10% of hate speech u, and kunnu have been throwing at them all dis while.
The declaration is commendable, but in order. You obviously have a problem, if not you won't have jumped into conclusion over a simple statement. I understand frustrations are running high in Nigeria right now but try and take it easy else you will develop high BP for nothing. Next time, learn to talk in a civil manner to get the right response. Ciao. bitcoinvin: The question is, how dare you upstage this people in a vote? Even if Southeast, South-south and Southwest joined together cannot upstage the North. More facts coming... INJUSTICE OF OIL ALLOCATION IN NIGERIA (1) North Central receives 20%; CONTRIBUTES 0.00%. North East receives 16%; CONTRIBUTES 0.00%. North West receives 21%; CONTRIBUTES 0.00%. Every month, the 19 Northern states receives a minimum of 57% of 100% of oil revenue to which they CONTRIBUTE 0.00%. South West receives 16%; CONTRIBUTES 3.97%. South East receives 11.00%; CONTRIBUTES 25.07%. South South receives 15.00%; CONTRIBUTES 70.64%. More facts... LGAs in NIGERIA: Nigeria has 774 LGAs. The North has 19 states, and the 19 states have 419 LGAs. The South has 17 states, and the 17 states have 357 LGAs. Working with the data from the office of the Accountant General as published by the Ministry of Finance (2013 April), the 357 LGAs of the 17 Southern states receive 45.1% of what they contribute is 100%. The 419 LGAs of the 19 Northern states receive 54.9% of what they contribute is 0.00%. Chai! I don't think those figures of 0.00% are correct though. Haba. They must at least be contributing something no matter how small. I know their contributions are not significant but can't be 0% otherwise Nigeria is finished if that's indeed the case. |

It is the Arewa Islamic Northern Nigeria dominated Army, Police, Navy and Civil Defence that has brought torture, killings, massacres and mayhem to communities and populations in the South. Till date, nobody has been held to account despite the existence of a comprehensive Amnesty International report to this effect. It is abundantly evident from the genocidal statements coming from certain influential segments of Northern Nigeria that the British socio-political experimentation and economic fraud we know today as Nigeria, should not have been created in the first place. We advise them not to make this mistake because Britain will no longer protect Islamic Northern Nigeria because in this digital age, the world is watching. Meanwhile, has the North forgotten that it also has people living in the South? Intolerance is a really bad thing. Islamic Northern Nigeria. Hmm. Is that the grand plan? Only Muslims in the North and all others in the South.. in a country that is supposedly one. What a joke. As for Britain, they have enough on their plate right now to bother about Nigeria. |

In southern parts of the country, you would hv heard d elders condemning the youths over such ultimatum, not for them to start backing it. Well said. When an Hausa-Fulani man kills another Nigerian, he has not committed an offence, but when another Nigerian kills Hausa-Fulani man, he has committed an offence and must be punished. I can tell you what happened during the southern Kaduna killing. After that incident, the same killing has happened again like more than three times till date Those people don't want to know if you had lived with them for decades , once the killing starts you are their first target as non Hausa tribe. To worsen the situation, the current IG of police is a very tribalistic man to the core. He has compromised his office to a large extent on this. Hmm. Very unfortunate situation this country is in. Religion and Lack of education play a big role in this. |

Kennydoc: FG owns the oil but only northerners are fit to have the oil wells allocated to them, right? Over 80% of the 'juicy' oil wells are owned by northerners, and it's fair to you, abi? What happened to the principle of federal character on allocating the wells? Why should individuals even own oil blocs in the first place? Not to mention people who are not even from the specific region where the oil wells are located. Rubbish. Things they wouldn't tolerate from others. |
