pope191: If rider cancel, ur rate will drop Yes but that is completion rate not acceptance rate. Your completion rate was much higher than the least. If one could even afford to boost the acceptance rate at the expense of the completion rate by getting people to request and then cancel themselves, with both targets still being met: then it's a GOAL! |

pope191: It was my bad, had a request on uber from Ilaje going to freedom way, took rider like 20 mins, so I have to leave taxify option open since I'm looking for mainland trip while I wait... As rider was opening the door, taxify trip rang, dat was how my gp dropped. She gave me extra 1500 sha and I gave her 5* If you are in a similar situation next time, just accept and tell the rider you're on a trip & might take 10mins to complete it, he/she would cancel |

maczig: Couldn't agree with you more. I have followed ur posts on this platform assiduously and I can unequivocally state that you are well grounded in the knowledge of this business, not all drivers even old ones understand how this business functions. its not always about the money to function properly in this business. Why will I embark on a trip to Alagbado with my vehicle heavily laden with wedding gifts coupled with problem of bad road at that time of the day when I know I won't get a trip back. Exactly. Riders self know that drivers reject trips to Alagbado & 'friends' except a newbie or if the driver stays close and want to go home from there. I got a trip to Alagbado today, I didn't go. I know what I faced the first time as a newbie I went there (bad roads & no requests). Then I didn't know how to reject trips Next request was to Sango Ota, had to say no as well. Next request (after one rider canceled twice within 3 secs), I had to ask on phone before proceeding to pick up |

inferno82: Hello house, have been following this thread for a while now. I have interest in partnering with uber/taxify(bolt) but firstly, I want to register as a driver and rent a car before my car arrive.
Now I want to ask the house if the business is still profitable cos I saw some people commenting that the turnover is not like before again. Pls my fellow people, kindly help your guy. Thanks True, the business is not like before. Longer waiting time for ride requests. One need to work harder & longer hours and be more strategic. Not so bad, as one can still do it to get by while waiting for a better job or big break. |

Epphy: Yes. Just ensure you do due diligence. Like Ogas Gazzuzz & Dru advised, better to use small engine cars to be on a safe side. The ever falling fares make it difficult to maintain cars that consume more fuel esp if given to a driver. |

GforGee: I wish I get it sir. Thing is, I haven't gotten the balance amount and I haven't gotten any message. The car owner told me he was sent a message concerning the balance, so he had to go and input his account details. Last week was my first week in the business, so I haven't gotten any payments yet from Uber. I've only been getting payment from riders who pay cash. That is why I was asking who gets paid between the driver and the owner! I had answered your first question. On the issue of not receiving payment yet, it may be that your partner did not add his account details on time or he has been paid already. I got alert some mins to 5pm. They credit late on Mons at times. You may have to ask the partner whom added his account details if he has received the payment. |

I just answered you now. OK na...Uber pays the person that has his/her account details with them. Therefore, if it is the account details of the partner that is with them, they pay the partner and if it's the driver, they pay the driver. I hope you gerrit now |

olumzzz: Thanks but the i always hear of the issues with having an unreliable driver. A driver with guarantors, valid information et al doesn't guarantee he/she wouldn't ruin your car Na luck and grace. Better to get one or two guarantors. You can do prepaid rentals too. Better you service your car yourself and major repairs too. There are still many God-fearing drivers out there |

I don tire Ask riders you are friendly or had a good rides with to rate you 5 stars immediately after the trips. Do this till your rating is very good. I did this for about 2 weeks when I noticed my rating was fluctuating too much. |

Riders think they have more sense than drivers. Received a request on Uber and called the rider to confirm the address, the guy knew it would take me long to get to his destination as I would have to turn round after I told him where I was. Instead of him to cancel, he pretended network was bad and ended call. I called back but he didn't pick nor cancel (he had enough time to cancel without being charged o). So I kukuma enter street, chop and idea came to my 'brain'...'instead I should cancel and see nothing why not waka and cross and wait for 5mins chop the #300. Riders don't know drivers pay heavier fines for cancelation. My cancelation rate don increase, na to do enough rides to compensate before Uber block person |

brogxy: Whatever works for you. I have restarted my phone severally while using taxify, also received calls, and I always use the Google map but I don't witness app errors. It could be my gadget or just luck. Long calls on the same line used for data while on Taxify trips affect the charges esp while on bridges like 3mb. It happened to me from Somolu to Lekki #1,600 and I paid #300 toll o. The wicked lady that I went to deliver a package for only paid me #1,600 |
