@EreluY it baffles me to know that in these modern age you still believe in the the tradition of men taught as doctrines and from your point of view critical thinking and reason will do humans lot of good in eliminating the problems the world is facing at large. That deep thinking help man to create weapons for mass destruction that will ruin the earth times over and your hope is based on that. Since the United nations stands for peace and security what peace have they given to the world. I rather believe in love your neighbours as yourself that is a statement coined not by man's deep thinking but by the sovereign ruler of the universe the same person that gave children as gifts to the parents. Every good gift comes from God(children) don't know how well you appreciate such gift if not by bringing them up in mental regulations of the giver of the gifts.
At best, this is pure waffle: a pile of rubbish. I deal with empirically verifiable claims, not unverifiable assertions based on ancient folklores and mythologies. Thank you.

Call Ojukwu whatever name you like. There is something that strikes me about him: educated at Eton College in Windsor (the best school, both historically and at the present moment, on this planet earth) and then gained his degree from Oxford University. He had everything going for him to become whatever he wanted outside the Nigerian Army. No one, in the history of the Nigerian Army, to date, had the privilege background and education Ojukwu had.

Theresa Mary May

Theresa Mary May (née Brasier; born 1 October 1956) is a British politician who has been the Home Secretary since 2010, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Maidenhead since 1997. The Leader of the Conservative Party since 11 July 2016, May identifies as a One-Nation Conservative and has been characterised as a liberal conservative. May is to replace David Cameron as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on 13 July 2016 after his formal resignation to the Queen, becoming the second female prime minister, following Margaret Thatcher in 1979.

Born in Eastbourne, Sussex, May studied geography at St Hugh's College, Oxford. From 1977 to 1983, May worked at the Bank of England, and from 1985 to 1997 at the Association for Payment Clearing Services, also serving as a councillor for the London Borough of Merton's Durnsford Ward. After unsuccessful attempts to get elected to the House of Commons in 1992 and 1994, she was elected MP for Maidenhead in the 1997 general election. May served in a number of roles in the Shadow Cabinets of William Hague, Iain Duncan Smith, Michael Howard, and David Cameron, including Shadow Leader of the House of Commons and Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary. She also served as Chairman of the Conservative Party from 2002-2003.

After the Conservative success in the 2010 election, May was appointed Home Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities in 2010, giving up the latter role in 2012. She became the longest-serving Home Secretary since James Chuter Ede over 60 years previously, pursuing reform of the police, taking a harder line on drug policy and introducing restrictions on immigration.

In June 2016, May announced her candidacy for the Conservative party leadership election and quickly emerged as the front-runner. She won the first ballot on 5 July 2016 by a significant margin with 50% of the votes. On 7 July, May won the votes of 199 MPs, facing the vote of Conservative Party members in a contest with Andrea Leadsom. Leadsom's withdrawal from the contest on 11 July led to May being appointed party leader later that day. She is due to resume office as Prime Minister on 13 July.

Children can survive just fine without religious dogma (and good ol' hell threats) injected into their impressionable minds before they can even think for themselves. In fact they'd be better off for it.

Children raised secular don't have to deal with all the cognitive dissonance & confusion that religiously indoctrinated kids are faced with once they start learning about science and philosophy and history. They don't have to be years behind in their education because of the resistance that naturally arises when they're faced with facts that contradict the bible (or Qu'ran or whatever).

I think if more people raised their children to be moral, hardworking, creative and compassionate without religion, we'd have more Mark Zuckerburgs in the world.
Welcome on board Sister. Let's open the eyes of fellow Africans that have become blindfolded by religious dogmas so our continent could become liberated. grin grin grin

Foolish mind. Why do we want to erase God in our conscience. I will prefer to die to have this implemented. When you take away godliness from a child then what do u teach the child? I believe, you teach her amy winehouse who died of drug abuse or u teach him tupac shakur and snoop doggy dog. Teach the child tuface and tiwa savage. I repeat i rather die than not teaching my child godliness. At the end of the day, the same govf will judge my child and jail him for crime. Tufiakwa
Where are all the children who were taught godliness in Nigerian schools in the 40s, 50s, 60, 70s, 80s, 90s. What have they done that makes Nigeria a godly country today? Do you get the point that morality is logically independent of religion.

WOW...Here we go again. Another ostensibly certificated but not educated Nigerian. Before the Enlightenment, religion ruled in the Western hemisphere. The Enlightenment project inextricably intertwined with medical advances as well as scientific and technological developments wrestled Western societies from the clutches of religion and transformed them into industrialised and developed countries. The culmination of these is the phenomenon called secularisation - a process whereby religion lost its grip, power and influence on a society and individuals within such a society no longer see the relevance of religious beliefs. Hence the decline in church attendance and the conversion of churches to gay clubs/bars and apartments. Man, go and get education not just certificates. lol.

The point you seem to be missing is that morality is logically independent of religion. Nigerians are religious yet highly immoral. As I've said before on this website, the most religious countries in the world (Nigeria, Pakistan, etc) are "the most fantastically corrupt"--remember that quote? Conversely, however, the least religious countries in the world (Sweden, Norway, Iceland, etc) are the least corrupt countries. Can you please explain why? Religion is a smokescreen, a mystical fog, a spiritual gin and ultimately the opium of the masses which distorts reality. Wake up and stop being deceived.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. 5 You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength. 6 These words that I am commanding you today must be on your heart, 7 and you must inculcate them in your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as a reminder on your hand, and they must be like a headband on your forehead. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

When the laws or resolution of man comes in conflict with that of the sovereign ruler of the universe obey God as ruler rather than men.
I wonder how much you truly know about the authorship of the books of the Bible. The OT (from where the above quote comes) essentially contains the history of the Jewish people interspersed by ancient Mesopotamian folklores and mythologies. This is akin to the historical account of the Yorubas which features all sorts of Ile Ife permutation and Lamurudu concoctions. That people, especially Africans, still cling--literally--to these nonsense when the Europeans who actually propagated the concepts in the 19th century no longer consider them as logically viable propositions truly amazes me, personally.

Taking kids to church is entirely different from forcing non-christians to partake in christian prayers in schools.

If teaching our kids about Adam & Eve is violation, what do we call the teachings of evolution and science? Both teachings were imported to a country like Nigeria. In fact, given our babies food to eat is violation., we shouldn't give a day old baby milk when he has the choice to select pounded yam and ewedu.
Your analogy is fundamentally flawed. The Adam and Eve story is based on unverifiable and unfalsifiable 'truth' claims. Conversely, however, evolutionary biology and scientific knowledge are based on empirically testable, falsifiable and verifiable facts. I still maintain that the problem with the Nigerian education system is that it fails to promote critical thinking and rational autonomy.

Nigeria is forever doomed. A news outlet alleges that the head of a country's army owns property in Dubai. It's the affected individual who should react and not the spokesperson for the Nigerian Army. It's either Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, is himself a culprit (so trying to cover up for a partner in crime) or he is just bluffing like Nigerians normally do. How does he know, for sure, that Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai and his family doesn't have a property in Dubai? What is even wrong with having a property in Dubai if it is legitimately acquired? Young professional Nigerians living in the UK have properties in the UK and some would even buy holiday homes in Spain, Portugal, etc. The problem, in my view, is not about buying property but doing so legitimately. Nigeria is, in deed, one of the most fantastically (and I dare add, institutionalised) corrupt countries in the world.
