This is true for any car. Manufacturers has list of preventative maintenance you must do for your car once you reach 10 years, ranging from water Pump to Oil pump and timing chain, now most Nigerians who even add another 7 years to such car by then its too late and there would be catastrophic damage of the car like broken timing chain or seized Oil pump or impelled water pump etc.

It’s not respected and adored the way a bigger Mercedes is worldwide, it’s not respected and worshiped the way a Porsche or a Bugatti is.

The BMW is as respected as a Mercedes, however I wont put it in same class as Porsche and Bugatti both which has cars with Special alloys and fibre,. Them cars are not family per say especially Bugatti. Though the Porch panorama and the SUV makes a difference. I will say Mercedes, BMW and Audi , then the rest for family cars

The neighbor said that the problem is in the diesel fuel and it is necessary to warm it up. In the end, nothing helped. I called a tow truck, the car was taken to the service station. OP.... you can't look at cost in isolation .... it must be attached to something.... salary. Let's consider base salary .... minimum wage..... that of the UK.... and that of Nigeria. Similar studio apartment in similar neighbourhood..... ghetto/highbrow.... what is the annual rent including electricity? To make a fair comparison.... how many months does each have to work to pay that rent? Do the math.....I'm sure the conclusion will be very different.

Cost of living in both countries is relative to the minimum earnings in both counter when you put that into perspective you will discover that the margin is to wide for comparism.

So this is based on the life of a cousin who relocated to nigeria briefly but is back in the uk to complete his masters. so we got to talking and this is the breakdown. so he had a studio apartment in osapa london lekki and total package including nepa light was part of service charge and lawma was part of it too, total package was 1.3 million annually. so this works out to in black market rate 1625 pounds a year. this works out to 32 pounds per week. and so in the UK the rent was 250 a week. the council tax ( their lawma ) is 20 a week and electricity is like 20 a week. thats 290 pounds a week compared to his lekki 32 pounds a week. so in essence in the UK his cost of living is 9 times what it is in nigeria. Isnt that amazing ?

Why do you guys love comparing the Uk to Nigeria? there is simply no basis for comaprism when it comes to living.in the Uk you spend according to your needs.ie instead of renting a flat rent a room etc.
