Japanese cars are easier fix any day any time than German cars I have used different brands of German model cars from BMW, VW AND AUDI BRANDS for over 20yrs,their major problems are electrical issues, their technology is way beyond our local mechanics, right now I am done too with German cars because mechanics here Don chop me way too well enough.

Bro most people here talking about easy to fix toyota and honda cars are talking of 2005, 2012 cars, wait for those that own 2016 and 2018 toyota to come tell us its easy to fix then we are talking! cos the 2018 tech in the toyota are what the 2010 Bmers have
Bross like I said, most of us talking Jap car are easy to fix drive the older jap cars, let anyone here with a 20018 toyota tell us they are easy to fix

The codes have been cleared, and it never popped up again. I'm not just satisfied with the angle of the steering while driving, when it's straight, it still drift slightly to one side on a straight smooth road, don't know what that is.
Its the sensor, thats what it does, your steering is electronic

Absolute fact

quote author=dadabashua1 post=106905823]most German cars are complex for our mechanics to understand when compared to the Japanese counterparts,so its easier to fix an accord or corolla or civic or Camry than a Benz or bimmer to an average mechanic in Nigeria, then secondly the electrical set up of most German cars is also a pain in the a*s to our rewires here, like I've always said,I won't drive Japanese car if I'm outside Nigeria, but to save myself the stress I will pick the jap mobile when I de naija,so in summary no be say German cars no make sense o,just that our environment no favor dem..lol

My job description does not giv me the space to move around. The guy(Banker) based in Lagos who I bought the car off gave me the Ladipo connect, that was the only connect felt had credibility based on previous owner's recommendation. Their parts were cheap & okay just the mistake of facts the monkey tail caused.
ahahahaah, I have passed fru ur end b4 one time, bad experience on the road, I lost two tyres, that una portion of East west road nor get joy.

3 different sensors were changed on the engine and air filter, and that solved it. But I'm still not comfortable with the steering angle, which I have tried correcting with alignment guy
Alignment guy canot correct it,the angle sesor is round your steering inside the car, its an electroic device not mechanical so nothing to do with under your car and tie rod ends. You need a tech with dealer level laptop to plug it in.I have same issue wit my range but mine is slightly different cos it has a RHD one of which the car was converted to LHD so I need to change it.

BMW wahala no be here.

Speaking from experience. Used BMW X5 couple of years back. Electrical problem and the parts are expensive.
That was not an issue rather lack of taking the car to a good tech on your part was the issue. Most of us have a non start problem you call up a mechanic, the start fiddling with ur car fuses and trying all sort, some are even brave to bridge wires, That's is death to your car right there, 1st thing they should do is power your battery and plug in their laptops simple, if they do no such they are going to fry your car.

Parts are a major factor. Can u believe in your entire blessed life that only one (Ogun go soon kee am) darm fella sells BMW parts in the entire Yenagoa - Bayelsa State shocked He tells you the price of a part, you make enquiries @Ladipo,Lagos & u realize that the miserable fellow has tripled the amount down here in Yenagoa. You then resort to pay for the part from Lagos thru way bill. On receiving it, you realize they sent a part for same model but different year, bro na so your to & from way bill wahala Don enta gear. Las Las, I sold it off cos the ride would sit idle for weeks running while the way bill drama continues. Ladipo guys sef go dey do like say na only dem Sabi drink monkey tail tongue On getting the part with the model & year you require, they will send the one for the manual version rather than the automatic cry
I Waka go buy Rav4 where parts dey everywhere be4 I go go jail for murder or attempted murder cool
ahah Oga why not go to Aba near you, even PH ikokwu get parts. There is a guy now developing Ikokwu on line, a new Ecomerce site,.I was going to Buy Varta battery, I looked for it everywhere no answer, I had to buy it from the Uk send to 9ja

Rad Autos, sounds familiar. I've never stayed in lag or pH before, so I'd have to transport the car to one of those places for repairs.
Let me refer you back to your Lexus Angle sensor issue, you see that angle calibration tool needed is an indept tool, if its a specialist one. probably cost btwen N1.5 to N2 million to have if its the original one, so you think that kind of person would charge you labour N 10k??
And did you manage to fix it? or was that eventually not the fault

Nop Im sure there would be a person round your area, I use the google map to locate the ones I had in PH, try it in your ;local area, some of these guys are up to date. Beside, you on your part should invest in a useful diagnostic tool if you car is of the newer side ie 2013 up cos you will need it and if you mech dnt have one then you dnt have a mechanic! cos you cant be fixing a 2013 car without a good scanner

Bro don't need to be rude but these assumptions hold no water.

Low to the ground?
And you are here talking about fuel consumption like seriously? this is a joke right? we talked about fuel consumption on this Auto thread like 12 years ago, you are a bit late. And for you to come up with this cheap argument of low profile tyres and fuel consumption shows you know not a lot about cars.

Gbam, that is the point I made up there, the reasons why most people think jap parts are cheap is because our market is flooded with fake parts, the day they start ordering for Original parts from outside they will understand its not cheap at all.lol
exactly, I used the range rover brake pads V the toyota brake pad as classic in the UK reason UK is home to the Range so you have its main parts and aftermarket manufacturers here

If they have better quality, they should more reliable and last longer then lexus or Toyota.

However , there are enough data to prove that lexus and Toyota last much longer and cost much less to maintain
that mechanic is in the USA< hence I said google wont be fair on you, if the Mechanic was in the EU the Data would be different, my friend has an Hyundai, when it had an electrical fault, he had to recover it 2 hours to a specialist place to get fix, and cos the car was a non EU car parts are on the higher side.
I shall give you a typical example, I own a Rqnge rover sport, its in NIgeria as we speak if you check my topics you will see it there conversion and all, do you know how much my brake pads cost? less than £40 for non performance ones. Brand new ,oil 5W30 £24.let me stop there.
However if it was in the US, it would cost mayB Double. So sometimes it depends on where you at for the value of maintenance to be determined however in Nigeria and most of Africa this do not count as we do not manufacture parts .

Bro, why is it hard to have a comprehensive arguments with us Nigerians, I do not need google as I'm in it 1st hand, I own a 2016 BMW 3 series and my wife has a Sienna 2010, So I own both cars I can tell you the difference 1st hand I dnt need google, you on the other hand is failing to ex[ress your self and drive home your point. BWM is definitely more high tech than most japanese cars, And high techs cost more to fix when it breaks

I designate a day...take my car to ladipo...all issues LL be resolved, serviced that I might not need any major maintenance for at least 8 months just minors like service engine, change Tyre occasion tye rod bla bla
If you use the right oil grade you wont need to change your oil for nearly two years

BMW have dedicated scanner which are most prefered to diagnose the car and are very expensive.

Toyota for instance can be scannered thoroughly with a good China made generic scanners.

BMW put a lot of tech into their cars which make them fun to drive when the electronics and other components work, but when they break, it cost a fortune to fix.
The drop in resale value is not only peculiar to Nigeria , BWM cars have high depreciation value
Can I ask you a question? what part of the BMW do you think is more xpenssive than its jap counterpart? let us compare genuity to genuity, Im waiting

oga you are not get it at all, is just a simple thing, if any of your Japanese car developers hub issues just pick up ur phone and call a mechanic in the next few minutes ur car will be fixed, even ur wife might not know ur car has that kind of issue but if the same hub issues had happened to ur BMW or benz the entire community and ur village people will know about it because it might take u months or a year to get the hub, and buying it is another thing, but the advantages is that once u change the hub it gonna last for years but Japanese cars might have gone through the same problem two to three times a year,
That 2014 bmw for 1.4m when the engine or gearbox spoils u will need 2.5m to buy the engine or 1.5m for the gearbox
bro thats wrong if you say HUb, I think u picked up the wrong part to drive home your views. Let me tel you the gospel truth,JAP car parts are not cheap rather fake Jap car parts are cheap!

Wrong and you think the Jap cars do not require complex machines? Look the up to date mechanics are not cheap, the road side ones are, however they will soon be faced out like radio mechanics we have in the 80s if they refuse to upgrade and update their tools. You see all these new garages popping up, they are the future, these days if you own any car from 2014 upwards, never allow anyone touch it if they do not have a scanner that can read and program cos from the way its going ordinary change of battery requires programming and even change of injectors requires coding

Simply just obtain a police report and proceed to court. Even though you owe him, he should have obtained an eviction order from the court. He has broken the law. If you don't sue him, he will do it again. We are not in a jungle, there's a due process for everything. Being owed is not a reason to act outside the ambit of the law. Also, don't allow anyone harass you. Going by the ACJA 2015, police should not interfere in civil matters such as this. Indebtedness is not a criminal offence. The reason why you are reporting to the police is because a criminal offence has been committed by your landlord i.e obtaining your asset without your notice (a.k.a stealing) and breaking into your apartment (a.k.a burglary)

The compensation you will get will surpass the rent you are owing. Make sure you pay your rent from that. All the best.
We do not know yet if Landlord got any legal backing to evict tenant and also we do not know the type of agreement he signed when he rented the apartment.
