Lion21:Please educate thesicilian. Even if he wasn't born when George weah won it, history should have told him. I remember that day clearly. |
Resetinc:Why did cameroun vote Mbape whose father is Camerounian but but chose France instead, even joined his teammates to defeat cameroun in a major tournament? Nigeria betrayed osimeh,.period. they're disloyal to him. |
Babangidapikin:Not.fiarness but betrayal.. see who Cameroun voted....Mbape cos of his roots. This is what is called fairness. If Osimeh could be parading our flag each time he won a match...he deserves to be shown love in return. |
Like they did to boko haram, bandits and ipobs unleashing terror on Nigerians daily? Useless buffoons. In the last 24-48 hours, boko haram killed about 19 farmers in Borno, ipob killed a guy's friend today as read here on NL. In Benue, many frared dead today. Nigerians lose their lives daily but they don't care. Had Nigerian leaders attacked these killers the way Istrael attacked hamas for killing over 1,000 of their fellow citizens, we'd say, we have good leaders. Nigerians' lives don't matter to them. Nigerians see the people you voted into power. I think you guys deserve being made laughing stocks |
southsouthking:In as much as I want the war to cease, hamas acted stupidly cos they gave Istrael the opportunity, which they've been longing for, to eliminate them. Nothing like peace anyway. The war has to end |
finallybusy:Whizzy isn't reckless in spending, hope you know. Suffice it to also say he's made good money with almost all his overseas shows sold out each time. You'd not hear that he bought a private jet or lived flamboyantly. He runs his own race without copying anyone. If he maintains his cool lifestyle, his wealth wouldn't decrease. You don't even know what he's doing with his wealth right now in terms of investment. |
omooba969:True, for good reasons |
Smart guy. I've been suspecting him since the day he went to pay Tony Elumelu a visit. I guess he doesn't want to end it the way most of our old generation musicians ended their career with almost nothing to bank on. Invest your wealth guy and diversify . They call you whizkid but I call you smart kid. |
Guyman01:You must be living in Jupiter. Where's the dollar? I approached my bank ahead of my recent trip and asked for only 4kusd and they said no fx. The only reason naira appreciated a little was the 10bn usd backlogs they're clearing , which hasn't taken meaningful effect. You can't give what you don't have. |
Fake news. The last time i checked, the lagos womderman was still in power and he's set the ball rolling. |
Basic123:Election is over as you know. We're only observing now. We're in it together |
That's the problem...government holding a controlling share in oil firms. This was what happened to nitel until OBJ came and privatised it. Nitel was never efficient. We got our line for a huge sum through the eye of the needle in the early 90s yet, no improvement. Bills were always crazy. You'd hear an answering machine when you dialed to make an important call...you'd hear nitel special service information, the line you dialled is blablabla. After privatisation of nitel, corruption fizzled and the federal government were making 5 times what they used to earn in revenue when nitel was still there. Gsm had also created employment to millions over the years. Someone like Slot and PTV would have still been fixing faulty laptop at computer Village today, had nitel not been privatised, which gave room for competition in the telecoms sector. The same way nitel found it hard to declare profit back then, nnpc will never find it easy to declare profit until its privatised. The corruption in that sector is too much. Nnpc's account hasn't been audited in years yet, they call it NNPC Limited . Nigeria is the the most patient country on earth walai. In another country, all our corrupt leaders would either have been long forgotten by now or run to exile and never come back again. In those days as an undergraduate, an engineer at nitel bought a toyota condor, tear rubber for his daughter who was my course mate on her wedding day...just an engineer. Same is happening in nnpc today and until that corporation is either scrapped or truly privatised, we're just deceiving ourselves in Nigeria. Tinubu knows what to do but he'd never do anything meaningful cos he's got no balls to challenge the powers that be. How would they earn revenues from their vessels taking crude abroad and bringing refined Petroleum products into the country? Their business would just be crippled. When we were rooting for an independent candidate, someone who can step on their toes and nothing wouid be done or held against him cos he doesn't belong to their clique, they were calling us names. They went the tribal routes and played dirty. We will still learn but time isn't ripe yet. |
How some men raise their hands on women still baffles me. Some don't deserve to get married in the first place. They're unfit for it. They just wanted to keep up with the joneses. They're evil. |
This pig again? I thought you endorsed him |
Infojames:Don't talk about those thieves. |
This is horrible. Had hamas and their blind allies known this was going to happen, they wouldn't have invaded Istrael who didn't attack them. They asked Istrael to leave gaza and they left years back. The devil lives in hamas no doubt. Its just like wilfully entering the lion's den. |
madridguy:No be every soldier be mad person. Worst case, they'd split |
madridguy:There's chaos everywhere but, that doesn't mean we shouldn't take caution. It's for their citizens and nothing stops us to also heed this warning. It's a free piece of information which in my opinion, we should appreciate. This is what our government won't tell us, as much as they claim to care about us When they gave similar warnings about the possible attacks in Abuja when GEJ was in office, they downplayed it and said, Nigerians love life and cannot take to terrorism, that they can't be planting bomb on their body. What happened a few months later....do you remember? The UN Building was bombed and many died. |
Omotaday:Not rumours. It used to be a cultural practice in the olden days. But it was later given less consideration due to civilisation. A friend of mine once narrated a story similar to this. She even knows the people in her village and they're still alive till today. The fulaniman who was the then guest later took the host's wife and she had 3 children for him. Both couple agreed to the arrangement though. They've lived for years without a child. |
Zxcvbnmghtr:Including exporters because the local industries go to black market to order their materials used in producing their finished exported items. It affects everyone |
crossfm:All na propaganda. We wey live for lag know say all na wayo. How can someone pack all his predecessors and successors achievement and call them his own? What ambode did in less than 4 years, Tinubu didn't achieve it in 8 years of his jeun soke, ko tun jeun sapo years. His administration was riddled with corruption and chaos in the camp of those who didn't like him. We knew him better and that's why he lost here. My people who voted him did so out of sentiments. They knew he was lying. |
See as people dey mention Rwanda anyhow . Leadership says it all. Two countries made me believe with good leadership, anything is possible, just anything. 1-UAE. UAE was founded on a desert and harsh climate where only carmel were living with a few humans. 2-Rwanda, a country many never believe could be anything. Our leaders need to visit these countries and take some lessons. |
Racoon:I remember people saying this in my brother's hostel in 1987 at UI when I visited. They said who would go to Dubai, a desert city , when better countries were begging people to visit them for tourism. The Dubai Tourism was advertised inside a UK based magazine called Readers Digest back then, which someone who travelled on holiday brought to the hostel. They all saw the advert in which one man was seen standing by a camel and said, visit Dubai. You and I know what Dubai has become today, a desert-turned-modern and prosperous city. It has become a role model of modern day tourism globally where world stars visit on holidays. With good leadership, dreams do come to realty my friend. It's same Dubai that Nigerians can't enter now, despite our people's huge investments in UAE. They have the best fleet of aircrafts in the world. I had flown their A380, the double-decked aircraft which can fly over 700 passengers at a go twice in the past to LA. We don't have that plane's runway in Nigeria yet. I think only Ghana does, in West Africa. As an advocate of good Governance, each time I look at some nations who became prominent out of nothing, I feel like weeping for Nigeria. I was in Hungary and their people were begging us to promote their brands in Nigeria saying they're a poor country and they know we have oil money to spend. Nigeria is supposed to be a country of pride to the entire black race and Africa today. But where are we? We're busy promoting corruption and tribalism. Many countries who rose up same time as Nigeria have left us far behind. Our population is supposed to be to our advantage but it not happening. We have the best of climate and land for cultivation but our leaders made the people not to see such potentials. In our very eyes, just mark it, Kazakhstan that's wooing us today, same way UAE came begging for investment over 3 decades ago, would rise and still leave us behind soon, except we change our leadership and our orientation. It's up to you and I |
Hmmm. So-so corrupt people in this administration |
That's if you prevent atiku from contesting again |
Burob:Rejected only by those won wanted the status quote to hold sway. None of those attacking him today , including Reno had never made great comments about him and his ability to lead in the past. Election is over. Enjoy the renewed hope while it lasts |
9jvirgin:They don't want Peter Obi cos they know a lot of them would go on self exile. It was a collective effort they adopted in frustrating him in the last election. |
AchrafHakimi: ![]() O lęęęnu |
Pakute:Seems you don't know this woman..she can buy 50 of that at a go, if she so wishes |
Gerrard59:OK. Have a nice day |
Gerrard59:I'm not disputing those born in the USA. I'm sure of those who became citizen by naturalisation. There are conditions attached to their being citizens, unlike those born in America and if they flout thise rules, it can be revoked. I've explained this also in the subsequent post which I made. I didn't just want American citizenship. I'd have gotten one cos with my level, I'm eligible. I don't have to talk much on this. One man's meat is another man's prison. I like entering the USA with visa just as I've been doing since 2004. As a naturalised citizen, they want you to always be connected with their system and you can't just go there, swear to an oath , secure their citizenship after the green card and now leave and work elsewhere without looking back. If you must leave, then you have to return within a stipulated period of time and if you exceed that allowable time, then you'd need to explain yourself with proofs when returning. Those born there don't have to go through such scrutiny whenever they're returning. However, you could work as a naturalised citizen outside America, if the USA company employed you there or the government posts you out as in the case of the military and other government workers. This isn't a debatable topic. It's what I know. You may also check with any known immigration lawyer or you check Google for details. |
Zandena:How is Labour leader synonymous with Labour party? So, if he says labour should go on strike cos government has failed on their promise, hes become a politician or working for a political party, right? Osiomohle was worse when he was Labour leader, fighting for the workers' rights. If you had parents as civil servants and still earning the old minimum wage inthuis inflation period, I'm sure you won't be talking like this cos you'd feel the heat. Imo workers were owed for months and they called on the NLC to join them in protest...if you were a Labour leader, what would you have done...stayed aloof and played politics so your colleagues keep going to bed on empty stomach while the one owing them is vying to contest for the 2nd time in office? Your response would determine if you have conscience or not |
