Koolking: SMH...GDP determines a country's economic prowess.
When you compare the meagre population density of UAE to Nigeria, and if Nigeria was to optimally allocate and utilize her resources, we won't arguing over this.
Cheers bro the economic term is GDP per capita not just GDP. visit this link which lists the worlds richest countries. FYI UAE is 9th. http://uk.businessinsider.com/the-richest-countries-in-the-world-2017-3?IR=T |

Koolking: Dubai is an emirate in the UAE. UAE as a whole is not richer than Nigeria. But the level of development in UAE makes Nigeria a laughing entity. We squander and mismanage available resources.
UAE produces 2.9 million per day. Nigeria has production capacity of 2.5m. The comparison will be hugely flawed because the 2 entities can not be matched. Even with 2.5m per day capacity by Nigeria, a lot of endemic factors work against its optimum utilisation of these productions. uae is not richer than Nigeria? are u kidding? do u even know the meaning of being rich. to put things in perspective for u what is the population of uae? about 9 million as against close to 200 million for Nigeria. so can u now calculate their per capita oil production? wealth is not just the amount of money u have, it is an interplay between the amount of money u have and the expenditure u are expected to have this is basic economics. |

josielewa: Recently we produce 2.7mbpd. Multiply it by average of $48 per barrel now that oil price is on the low. During Diezani's reign, oil was booming where we sold average of $110 per barrel. Now we make on the average of $120m dollars everyday. Then we were making on the average of $275m. All are based on averages and my calculations. Do the math yourselves and you will be marvelled on how much we make every year. No need to ask how much we make cos we make a hell lot of money for the thieves to even steal more than $90b. and she was so smart that only her was cornering all the money? which money were the states and LGAs now sharing? which money was used for projects, payment of salaries etc. and now to the more salient point which country in the world will u keep that kind of liquid cash without raising a red flag. |

Koolking: How do you know Nigeria is not worth Trillion Dollars? How much is Dubai worth? Is Dubai richer than Nigeria? I guess, you are simply living in denial or ignorant of the system.
As of 2015, Nigeria was the world's 20th largest economy worth over $1 trillion. This is on public record. Offshore clandestine transactions and deposits are not accounted here.
Like I said earlier, you can only account for what you have on record.
Do you know how much has been stashed outside the country (not in Naira but Dollars and Pounds)?
Is $90 Billion even money compared to the desperate and lavished tendencies of our so called people in the corridors of power?
They lavish these monies outside the shores of Nigeria on things not needed. Fleet of Private Jets, Estates to their concubines, cars , private securities, etc. Sheer wickedness unbridled, yet Nigerians are denying Diezani can't squander $90 billions considering one of the most privileged positions she occupied in Nigeria. so we are supposed to take ur word which is not based on any record over facts on record. as for Dubai vs Nigeria economy, Dubai is not a country it is a city in UAE. do u know know how many barrels of crude uae produces in a day? |

Wait till the courts convict her! Daddy Freeze, sorry to say but shame on you. You fall my hand no be small. Do Nigerian courts ever convict people like diezani? If you are looking for people to defend, there are millions of poor defenceless Nigerians crying for that favour not kleptomaniacs like deziani. Even if it's 140 million dollars that she stole (like US said) is it right? Haba!! he did not say she did not still, but why blow it out of proportion? how could only her have stolen 90 billion dollars when the entire foreign reserve of the country as at then was not even up to that amount. are u saying she stole all the money for our budget throughout the entire time she was in office. people should use their heads. this administration employs 2 much sensationalism and propaganda |

crackerspub: Yes you are right, I have worked for Amazon, I know Amazon well.
Amazon for long was not making profits, you can't compare Apple with Amazon.
Ask yourself Apple, the most valuable tech company in the world. Why is it that Tim Cooks is not one of the top 10 richest. Appl has top billionaires dumping huge money as investment. Liquid cash into the company. Do you know for years Amazon was not making any profits. Besides Apple's Iphone is designed in California and manufactured in China, the cost of Iphone is so cheap and they sell it at high price making lots of gain.
Amazon don't have the amount of funds like Apple or Microsoft. yea I know that apple is richer than Amazon I was trying to say that all companies have cash reserves, Amazon is no exception. as for the part about not making profits u really do not understand the amazon business model. yes it is true they are not making "profit" as any traditional business but their aim is to dominate the online market space and maintain a high value foe their stock. that is why even when they announce quarterly losses their stock values hardly go down like u would expect. in Nigeria we are particular about cash because we operate a cash economy, money can be in different forms, stocks, gold etc in many advance economies you can meet all ur financial needs without necessarily handling cash. |

Dude Nigerian own money which is 30 billion is liquid cash, know the difference. yeah I know that most of hia net worth is in stocks and various securities but if you are into investments u should know that securities are as good as liquid cash. furthermore most of those companies as have huge cash reserves, for example apple is said to have over 200 billion dollars in cash reserve, check link below: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2017/05/01/apples-cash-reserves-swell-250bn/ |

SnowJay92: Do you know that usually Chinese products for say US or Asian markets are usually of a different quality from the ones for African markets more especially Nigeria? In addition to the Chinese knowing our technical incapacity, our people have a habit of conniving with the companies over there to water down the quality of the products they ship down here, in other words, they send us shit. See you have a better quality control if you source for parts and assemble machineries here in Nigeria than buying most turnkey that come in from China, unless you can actually go over there and make sure it's the quality you want that is being produced. that may be true for other industries but for the auto industry most of the reputable suppliers of parts are not from China, review the list if suppliers for most of the major auto companies most are not from China. as a matter of fact many of the Chinese auto manufacturers are unable to pass the stringent US and EU auto safety regulations. I hope he is able to move to the level of independently designing their own cars soon because that will give them freedom to source parts from more reputable suppliers. |

I tel u bro., it is a brand that has no identity. when u see a BMW or Mercedes Benz coming afar off u can easily identify them same with other car brands, but u can hardly distinguish their vehicles as a brand with a distinct look. Innoson has continued to grow from strength to strength as a brand, Anambra state uses hundreds of the brand for different official purposes, school buses, student union buses, church associations, official vehicles for VIPs and for MDAs, I know of NBA, NMA, NAUTH, infact too numerous to mention, the pickup is use by the local security outfits of every community in the state, there are even heavy duty refuse disposal trucks, many transport companies also use them for long hauls, even to other African countries....trust me they outperform and outlast their chinese counterparts, even under very rough usage conditions, and there has been several improvements over the years! how can they outperform their Chinese counterparts when they simply assemble parts they get from China. last I checked their suppliers are from China. |

SBG04: No. It's because Jonathan's incompetence almost destroyed Nigeria. Jonathan refused to removed petrol subsidy because his PDP friends were the major beneficiaries and because he didn't want to be unpopular before the elections such that he even left us with long queues. He refused to approve the increase in electricity tarrifs because he also didn't want to be unpopular before elections. He let his Petroleume minister plunder the country like tomorrow wouldn't come. He allowed and encouraged his National security Adviser to divert money meant to fight terrorists to his PDP loyalists. Oga don't get it twisted, Jonathan did not mean you or anyone in this country well. If you believe otherwise then something must be wrong with you. Jonathan refused to remove fuel subsidy? have u forgotten how ur APC Lords sponsored labour and other unscrupulous elements to shut down the country when he attempted to do so? |

SBG04: Oga please stop acting like those foolish senators in the Senate that condemned Fashola for inserting N20billion in the budget for contingencies and then turned around to commend the same person for swiftly moving to repair the damaged bridges that collapsed in Jebba. Where did Fashola get the money from? Was that bridge not an unforseen contingency? There was no logical, economic, business or sensible reason for reducing tariffs. That stupid Former chair of the NERC just admitted to the rest of Nigeria that he sabotaged the entire country by depriving the power sector of badly needed funds. Instead of condemning the irresponsible man, you're here justifying his stupidity and even praising him for being very "explanatory" Honestly with the way some Nigerians think you'll just feel like giving up. I wonder how people like Fashola wake up everyday to go to work knowing that all their efforts, worķing for some stupid and foolish Nigerians like the ones here on Nairaland, are all but in vain. I will not hold brief for the former nerc chair whether his decisions were bad or good, but since fashola took over the power sector what significant changes has he brought to the power sector? this same tariff that he is about to increase now has been increased before, was there any improvement? so what guarantee do u have that this increment will lead to improved power supply. and for ur information stupidity is when u expect me to dole out money for services I don't receive: NO I WILL NOT. FYI fashola is not working for Nigerians, he is simply working for the interests of his party and the president that appointed him. there is nothing he has done that shows he works for Nigerians. |
