We've had a chat before, though I can't remember the specificities of our discussion (it was probably something about human psychology - the action/reward pattern). And if I remember your username, it means I enjoyed the conversation (it doesn't matter if we agreed or not). So when you say "I'm still in that dark realm", it's really concerning. I don't have any issues with your choice of "literature" provided it has no bearing on your personal life. But if you believe there's a reason for concern, regardless of how minute it might be, then I beseech you to talk about it. Self awareness is key.

And yes, I am having a great Monday morning now. It wasn't yet dawn here when you asked earlier.

Wow... people behaving like animals. The sad thing is that when you preach true equality/justice to Nigerians, each group would start giving reasons why the other group doesn't deserve it. The herd mentality in the country is our greatest undoing. Men don't want to be equal with women, officers don't want to be equal with civilians, politicians don't want to be equal with other citizens, straight people don't want to be equal with gay people, religion A doesn't want to be equal with B, tribe C thinks they're better than D, the rich don't want the same justice system as the poor, etc. Nobody really wants to work towards a fair society. We only cry out when our own herd is antagonized.

I agree with most of the things you've said but I just wanted to point out that this statement below doesn't do justice to the premise of your argument:

The US is a country and Igbo is an ethnicity. The whole concept of nationality is primarily a function of paper works and quite frankly, a Nigerian can become an American just like an American can become Nigerian. However, an Igbo man cannot become a latino regardless of how long he lives in Latin America and likewise, a Hispanic man cannot become an Igbo man just by living with the Igbos.

He was doing other things he was/is interested in. He's probably forcing himself to like football now due to social pressure and that's an issue on its own.

Well... it's not like they made it illegal for them to have phones, they just can't register the card in their own name. So this doesn't really change much for them. They'd still own phones and make calls as usual. It simple means the adult who got the card for them would be the one to interrogate if the card is used for a criminal activity.
