VeeVeeMyLuv:Internalized hatred is not a sign of patriotism. No one in history has ever made his country any better by denigrating her. Regardless of where we are in the world, that place he just called a shit hole remains his home. He has every reason to be angry, but there's absolutely nothing patriotic about his write-up. Neither the name calling nor his long term dream depicts patriotism. Not like it really matters. He's traveling for the first time and the excitement is expected. This is probably not the time to sound patriotic. But it's also not a reason to embrace the white man's insults. I'm not from a shit hole, I am from a struggling country. So are you. So is the OP. |
Welcome to NA. Happy for you. But what's this attitude of calling your country a shit hole because a white man called it that? Does it make you more yankee or does it add any value to the country? You'd be OK when people in the US refer to you as someone from a shit hole? Staying in the US doesn’t make you any less Nigerian and if you achieve your dreams of becoming a statesman, you must first learn patriotism. |
Lol... If I open it now, I'll see he's only singing in the US and Canada. The way y'all exclude Mexico is not fair. |
pansophist:The world is shifting to multilateralism and that means America is gone? I'm curious, which country would you advise the person to go to today to directly benefit from this multilateralism? People are in the US not because it's called the world power but because of what they can gain at the individual level. So if you consider the US gone, where would you advise him to go to? Have you experienced the US market in any way? Do you know why the country is called the land of opportunities? Please, let's not mislead people on this platform out of sentiment. If things will change, they haven't yet. The US is not gone and it will take decades for that statement to ever be true. |
Even on a beautiful thread like this, those guys on the front page still found a way to denigrate women. What would a confident man gain from constantly disparaging the opposite gender? Nice one from dad! |
Favorolasupo:The meaning is highly contextual and, therefore, not easy to explain. I will give you 10 instances. It's going to be another epistle, sorry. 1) At a glance: Voila => there is Voici => here is Example: Voila la femme de mon fere (there is my brother's wife) 2) However, "voila" can also mean "here is". This means it can replace "voici" in a sentence and this is usually the case except when the difference needs to be made explicit. Example: Voila ma nouvelle voiture (here/there is my new car) 3) "Voila" is also an exclamation used to express agreement. For example, when you say something that indicates you've understood what I am explaining or something that shows you agree with my argument, I could say "voila !". In this case, it means "that's what I'm saying!" or "that's right!". 4) In some contexts, "voila/voici" could also mean "there/here you are", "there/here I am", etc. Example: Me voici => here I am. 5) They can also be used to introduce a reason or an explanation. In this case, it could be translated as "thus" or "that is". Example: J'ai perdu mom chat, voila pourquoi je suis triste (I lost my cat, that is why I'm sad) 6) They are used as fillers. In this case, we don't translate them (even though it means "that's it" ). Example: Je vais juste tout oublier, voila. (I'm just going to forget everything). 7) "Voila" can be used to say how long something has been happening. Example: Voila 3 jours que je suis à Paris ! (I've been in Paris for 3 days!) 8 ) "Voila" can mean "see" or "take a look" or "over there" Example: Voila un elephant ! (See an elephant!) 9) It is used to indicate the simple or unwanted end of an activity. Example: Arretez le bruit, vous allez réveiller le bébé... et voila ! (Stop the noise, you'll wake up the baby... now see!) [They eventually woke up the baby] 10) I can't remember any other instance but you can hardly go wrong with "voila". Lol |
Normalguyy:Nigerian ladies are like this? So it's safe to say Nigerian men are scammers and rapists? With the way you guys treat others of different groups (gender, tribe, religion, etc.), it's beginning to seem blacks are worst than whites. We just don't have the privilege to show it. |
We have already won the battle, the strike will be called off soon* |
Yahoo saved your from depression ? This better be a click bait; otherwise, you're an extremely wicked person. |
Ogamysamo:Ma is generally used with feminine nouns (singular) Mon is generally used with masculine words (singular) However, we still use "mon" if the singular noun begins with a vowel sound regardless of the gender. Yes, it applies to ton/ta too. |
Ogamysamo:Yes, when the next words is singular and starts with a vowel sound, we use the masculine possessive adjective to make it flow better. "Ma amie" sounds like a city in the US. Lol Note: You said pronoun instead of adjective. |
Ogamysamo:Don't mind her. I can log in. Lol |
Favorolasupo:Oh lord! I didn't waka anywhere. I've always been in Canada. Lol. ![]() |
Ogamysamo:@bolded: The plural is "leurs". The demonstrative pronouns are: 1) celui - masculine singular 2) celle - feminine singular 3) ceux - masculine plural 4) celles - feminine plural They are used to refer to a previously mentioned noun in a sentence and they must agree with the gender and number of the noun. Example: J'ai besoin d'un sac mais je n'aime pas celui (I need a bag but I don't like this/that one) Though these pronouns sufficiently mean "this/that one" and "these/those ones", we sometimes add the suffices -ca and -la at the end of the pronouns to stress thier location (with respect to the speaker) and thereby making an explicit difference between this and that (these and those). In other words, even though celui can be translated as "this one" or "that one", we can say "celui-ci" and "celui-la" when we want to be emphatic. Example: Tu parles de quel garcon, celui-ci ou celui-la ? (Which boy are you talking about, this one or that one?) Finally, when these pronouns are followed by "de", it is better translated as "that of" (singular) or "those of" (plural). Example: J'aime ma voiture mais celle de Pierre est plus belle. (I like my car but that of Peter is more beautiful). |
Favorolasupo:Lol... I'm in Canada. I've always been in Canada. |
Lok... When we do it, it's just fun; but when it's done to us... Imagine a white person playing "dibia" on sighting blacks on a street in the US or the UK. Regardless of thier intention, the black community would surely label that racism. You don't stereotype people and tell them it's cultural appreciation. A Yoruba person calling an Igbo man "Chukudi" just because he's Igbo and not that his name is actually Chukwudi is already insulting, but somehow, you guys think it's OK to embarrass people like this on the street. Nigerians think they're fun, but they're just a bunch of inconsiderate people. It's not so hard to respect people. |
Premiumwriter:The people are saying corrective rape should be abolished regardless of whether homosexuality is wrong or right, and you're asking if it's because the white man says so. Are you okay? So if the white man didn't say so, you wouldn't know the right thing to do? Do you even realize that it was the white man that introduced the anti-gay laws in the first place? What word am I putting into your mouth? Are you not openly challenging the demand to abolish corrective rape on this thread by calling it a white man's initiative? How else do you want to support it? How is it that you really know how to read and write and you still reason this way? |
jayextra:But we all already know what gets your attention fast ![]() |
If she brings her personal life to social media, all of you will gather to call her a useless Nigerian girl. If she keeps her relationship out of social media, you will still complain. Nigerian girls are trying shaa. Dude, if that's a deal breaker for you, leaver her so she can have enough time to find a mature man that values privacy. |
Premiumwriter:Can you imagine what a grown up man is typing? So you need a white man to tell you raping another individual is wrong? Where is your own sense of reasoning? Does being Afrocentric mean you no longer have to apply logic? Even if being gay is wrong, do you really need the West to tell you raping people is not a solution? Have you heard of anyone who got raped and they got cured of homosexuality? According to the OP, a 16 year old girl was raped by her uncle multiple times in the name curing and you don't see anything wrong with this? Your sibling's female child behaves like a boy and your solution is open her legs and rape her? Aren't you worse than the gay people like this? |
The answer would be NO. But sadly, many married men still leave their decently dressed wives at home to flirt with scantily dressed women like this. |
WoundedLamb:D'accord. Si tu le dis ! |
Ogamysamo:He's right, Ogamysamo. Translating "actually" as "actuellement" is a common mistake. |
WoundedLamb:Dude! Still remember our discussion? It's summer already! |
People are wicked. I wonder how anyone would feel okay bodyshaming others. |
According to NL people, women are wicked except thier mothers and sisters. Lol... do ya'll even know how childish that is? |
Meteng:It's easy to detect a teenager on NL. The struggle to belong. |
Men looking for women with low body counts just to increase thier body counts and turn around to shame them is the most teenage thing ever. |
jayextra:Lol.... Go back to viewing the dicks and comparing thier sizes. |
The title is misleading. |
OP, please warn people. Regarding the condition, why not see a specialist? People will suggest a lot of things and you might end up harming yourself. |
