Let us not call a spade a spatulous object for abrading the surface of the earth. Let us simply call it what it is; A spade. That people snap up job vacancies here without giving feedbacks after attending such interviews is the height of insensitivity. Funny enough, this lackadaisical attitude of 'No feed back' is becoming contagious; As some of us who were of the habit of always giving feed backs have refrained from doing so.

I've been observing this trend for quite some time, and honestly it's worrisome. Out there, people request for cash, recharge cards, and even s*X to connect unemployed people with their prospective employers. Here, we only request for feedback and nothing else.


The last job I posted here recently was actually offered to me by a friend, but I told him I would pass it because I'm presently occupied with some stuff. Sadly, no one has come hear to give feedbacks. And I'm sure they would have gone for the school's interview. Such ungrateful attitude!


Let this be an appeal to all those whose habit it has become to always snap jobs from here without giving feedbacks in return. You should know for sure that you're being ungrateful. A word they say.....



Meanwhile, is there anyone here that got the invite from Thomas Adewunmi College, Omu-aran, Kwara state. Of all the invites I've been receiving lately, this particular one seems tempting. Already, I've scheduled my interview with them on Sat July 4th. If there's anyone who got their invite, please open up so that we can share ideas. Funny enough, I already have interviews slated on July 2nd @ St. John Paul's Sch Ikoyi, July 3rd @ St. Jude Private Sch Festac, and now this one on July 4th.


It's really the opening of the teachers' transfer window (as football lovers commonly call it). It's gonna be busy henceforth, but without regular feedbacks, I guess it's going to be a boring thread. Peeps! Let's keep this thread rolling with feedbacks.

Funny enough most graduates at the moment of being interviewed, over express themselves that they can teach all subjects and multitask. They won't stick to one or two subjects they are good in. When they resume and share the periods, they will cry foul. In my present school, though I can teach English, literature and French; I told them I can't teach literature but can teach English. And when I resumed, they wanted to shove it my way and I reminded them of my statements during the interview. And it was given to someone else. I teach only English now and for 3 classes with 12 period per week. So don't blow your trumpet. Don't say you can take all science subjects because the school at the end of the day will want to save money by dumping all the subjects on one person.

Dust and edit your c.v ,keep searching and you will definitely see the one you can enjoy

My sister, welcome back. It quite disheartening the way graduates are treated in "mushroom schools" , no welfare, no safety and we are the mercy of the students. Have you not heard of schools where students write reports or give comments about teacher at the end of the term and the principal use it to crack jokes.
The annoying thing is that, some would prefer to die in silence than voice out. I do not give a hoot about the fact that most of my comrades (teachers) follow this thread discreetly... I for begin mention their names.

The examination malpractice is so annoying. My school would preach shun examination malpractice on the assembly but yet go on to practice it-double standard, you see them(teachers-married men plus those clerics) carrying textbooks (even teachers of the subjects) to give the correct answers to a particular questions, little wonder "standard schools" test you based on WAEC or G.C.E questions, which shows clearly the teacher is not qualified in the first instance.
I no go lie... I detest this profession because of what am seeing.
Please, return to source... Entrepreneur is the way, but since you like teaching.... Stick to it.
I think Prof.deserves an award for being resolute in his decision.

Even I too like many other of his friends have found the reason behind his sack most unacceptable. But, as it is his style to always allow posterity take its course, I guess that's why someone like me chosed the golden rule of silence.


You would notice I've become quiet on this thread even before now, it's because I'm beginning to lose interest in teaching as a career. It's because of anomalies like this. Sometimes I tend to ask myself if I'm really teaching or slaving.


The one I face in my own place of work ehn, it's so unmentionable. Imagine a school where I've to teach biology (SS1-3), basic science(JSS1-3), and still teach sciences in the pry section. All, at the salary of one. The manner in which our VP addresses we teachers @ times, I ask myself 'Has job really become that scarce in this clime?'. Lemme quote an excerpt from his favourite threat 'This school is like a barrack, it's soldiers go, soldiers come but barrack will remain the same. If I choose to sack any of you tomorrow, ten graduates would be willing to replace you people even at a lower salary....'

Yes! I know many of my colleagues @ work are 'silent' followers of this thread but you know what, I really don't give a hoot cos I've dusted my make-up kit, might return to my source in the nearest future. . I just like teaching, that's all. But at this juncture, I guess I've to reconsider.
