trustyshoess: I swear Africans annoy me sometimes. So we don't have bigger problems than to fight over jollof? Any well educated logical thinking person would know that it is silly to attribute the "best jollof" to one country because it will obviously taste different (bad, average Or good) depending on the cook! Even in Nigeria alone, the recipe varies between different people. By this dumb logic, if I go to America and buy fries that taste too salty, it's safe to say American fries are salty? Come on people! Open your eyes, jollof rice is not our problem. Hian ok how do people prepare joulof rice differently in Nigeria, way tribe will cook it best and worst |

Ingredients for jellofy coconut rice - tomato ketchup, white onion, groundnut oil, vinegar, coconut milk or watar, crayfish and okpei/dawadawa, sugar and black pepe
Before you cook d coconut rice
1. Grind crayfish and okpei together 2. Get coconut milk or water, either from fresh coconut or tin if you wan form ajebutter, but know that the taste won't be as good as when fresh coconut milk is utilised ok
Cooking instructioning:
1. Heat groundnut oil in pot. Once it don sizzle wello, add onion, stir till brown den put tomato ketchuping and boil till every water is out of it 2. Use vinegar in place of water to liquidise the stew, this gives more better taste then put coconut milk, black pepe, crayfish-opeyee mix. 3. Once it boils, add uncooked but well washed rice and let it cook till water dries up. Den serve with egg, steamed vegetable, moi main and plantation ok |

kc2hansome: I'm ashamed of u. "Imonize" - So ndi Imo are not humanbeings abi. Ur type are the internal problems we have in actualisation if Biafra. ud just come online and be commenting on superiority of one Igbo state over another making, entertaining the Afonjas and co. . A good meal is a good meal, regardless the method or tribe that prepared it. As long as the person is not dirty and the meal is tasty then I'll have to my fill cos I'm a foodie... I'm Anambra to the core. By both parents. Currently residing in Anambra too. I prepared my Onugbu onugbu Just yesterday with akwu. Egwusi has frying method of preparation and cooking method. That someone chose one uses one over the other doesn't mean the person doesn't know how to cook. Go through cookery books and ull see instances where they give u 2 to 3 options (eg. use onugbu leaf or ugwu leaf or Utazi), they would also go further to tell u different times u should put which ever one u opted for (eg. if ur choice is onugbu leaf, add it now and stir, if not, close the pot and allow to steam for 10mins more on low heat etc)
Ure visibly dumb and don't take simple corrections. I wouldn't bother explaining again on preferences. No wonder people don't patronise ur threads, u teach poo, and I'm sure u cook poo too. A good product always attracts customers. common shut the ell up, you can never cook good onugbu without banga, look for a nwanyi nnewi or nwanyi Awka who wee use only akwu and tell her she dey wrong my jollof rice is amazing and I tink d Calabar version is even betta dan Igbo one bcoz an akwa ivomite taught me how to make jollof rice, it's isn't as good as mine so shut up !! kc2hansome: ure are practically and visibly senseless and a big fool
people use both first of all it's Akwu not aku Ndi Anambra uses the akwu in onugbu more than others. cos if it's abundance. others use Akwu but mostly palm oil.
some people prefer yellow pepper for their egwusi while some would up for red pepper.
some people use ugwu on their egwusi while some opt to use utazi
stop being a big fool and stay off my mention. Don't comment cos u have to say something but rather when u have something to say. Ur ignorance is smelling. olodo itiboribo.
modified; ooo I see ure one silly person who is trying to gain relevancy in the food session on nairaland. Biko choose someone else to look for relevancy. Little wonder why people don't patronise ur threads, ure just a failure looking for who to lean on. Im not a lady but I can comfortably prepare all my native meals and notable intercontinental dishes as well. no palm oil is an Anambra soup and all oda na counterfeit and I was tot tha we use AKWU for ora and onugbu is a northern Igbo delicacy, just bcoz is now popular with you Imo people no mean you can imonize delta anambla and Enugu food next now we go hear you use achi and ofor for OUR onugbu im a guy too and am telling u dat we use akwu and ogiri for very traditional delta Enugu and ANAMBRA soups instead of palm oil and okpeye/maggi, any problems with DAT which state u from if might i enquire |

kc2hansome: let me play u down on an Igbo diet. Onugbu soup.. need onugbu leaf, palm oil, (it is even prepared with no onions infact onions spoils the soup)
fufu; cassava plenty for East ofe akwu: u need palm fruit(akwu) and scent leaf. All ingredients for our native meals are produced in mass at our place. I'm sure the same too for Yorubas cos u can't tell me that before 1914 and 1960 Yorubas were starving. Ebonyi state produces rice. plus foreign rice.
please please please. drop that the north feeds Nigeria BS. if they feed SW, the SE can do without them. stop acting Like without North the SW can't survive, that's wat they made u think. Goodluck with Nigeria.
Biafra OUT!!!! hian!! Shatap!!! Palm oil in onugbu soup, please are you sane at all we use aku d banga to prepare this very traditional soup not palm oil!!!! Nonsense |

Probz: Yoruba rice is more peppery and Igbo women are more likely to add crayfish and extra things like vegetables. That's it.
We've got more variance of one-pot rice dishes in the East (like coconut jollof rice, jellof rice and beans). Yorubas only make jollof rice the standard way. ok tnx bro, how about d party rice, does ibo prefer dat one differently to yoruba, why don't Yorubas add crayfish to jellof rice and why dont igbo put plenty pepe |
