PoliticsMilitary: We Are Not Planning To Overthrow Buhari by ExAngel007(op): 11:20pm On May 14, 2019
The defence headquarters on Tuesday dissociated the armed forces of Nigeria from the circulation of document, calling for the overthrow of the democratically elected government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement issued by Muhammed Wabi, deputy director of defence information, the DHQ accused a group, “Nigerian Continuity and Progress’’ as being behind the document.

Wabi alleged that the document called for the setting up of an “interim government’’ in place of the elected government.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria wishes to dissociate itself from the rascality and intentions as espoused in a document being circulated by a faceless group named Nigerian Continuity and Progress calling for support of a revolution to oust the current democratically elected government and in its place establish an illegitimate interim government,” the statement read.

“The AFN outrightly condemns the undemocratic and demonic actions of the author of the document.

“Accordingly, members of the public are enjoined to discountenance the content of the documents being circulated by NCP and equally condemned in totality, the call to derail our hard-earned democracy.”

It said the armed forces was “very mindful of its constitutional responsibilities’’ and would not be misled into any act that would undermine democracy as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution as amended.

“The AFN remains unflinchingly loyal to the Constitution, as well as President Muhammadu Buhari and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he said.

Wabi said all relevant law enforcement agencies had been advised to unravel those behind the “seditious” document for appropriate actions.

PhonesWhatsapp Asks Users To Upgrade App — After Report Of Spyware Attack by ExAngel007(op): 12:29pm On May 14, 2019
WhatsApp has asked users to upgrade to the latest version of its popular messaging app following a report that users could be vulnerable to having malicious spyware installed on phones without their knowledge.

Financial Times had reported the vulnerability in WhatsApp, saying it could allow attackers inject spyware on phones by ringing up targets using the app’s phone call function.

It said the spyware was developed by Israeli cyber surveillance company NSO Group.

“WhatsApp encourages people to upgrade to the latest version of our app, as well as keep their mobile operating system up to date,” a spokesman of the platform said.

“The upgrade will protect app against potential targeted exploits designed to compromise information stored on mobile devices.

“We are constantly working alongside industry partners to provide the latest security enhancements to help protect our users.”

Asked about the report, NSO said its technology was licensed to authorise government agencies “for the sole purpose of fighting crime and terror,” and that it does
not operate the system itself.

“We investigate any credible allegations of misuse and if necessary, we take action, including shutting down the system,” the company said.

“Under no circumstances would NSO be involved in the operating or identifying of targets of its technology, which is solely operated by intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

“NSO would not or could not use its technology in its own right to target any person or organisation, including
this individual.”

PoliticsPresidency Reels Out Measures Taken So Far To Tackle Insecurity In Nigeria by ExAngel007(op): 3:23pm On May 12, 2019
The Special Adviser to the President on Media
and Publicity, Femi Adesina, just released a
statement detailing the measures so far taken to
tackle insecurity in the country. Read below

MAJOR SECURITY MILESTONES IN 2019,
BY PRESIDENCY

These are no doubt times of great
security challenges for our country, and
the President Muhammadu Buhari-led
government is not leaving any stone
unturned to restore sanity and calm.
For the records, below are some of the
security initiatives taken between January
and now, for the safety and security of
Nigerians:

Ø Operation Puff Adder (Nigerian Police),

Operation HARBIN KUNAMA 3 (Nigerian
Army) and Exercise Egwu Eke 3 (Nigerian
Army) have all been launched in 2019, to
complement the existing Operations
Sharan Daji (launched in 2016 by the
Nigerian Army) and Diran Mikiya
(launched 2018 by the Nigerian Air
Force). All of these operations are
focused on tackling banditry and
criminality in the North West of Nigeria.

Ø Operation HARBIN KUNAMA 3 was

launched on 1 April 2019 to ensure the
complete defeat of the bandits fleeing
military operations in Zamfara and
escaping into Kaduna, Katsina, Kano,
Niger and Sokoto States.

- Hundreds of kidnappers and bandits
have been arrested or killed since
January, several camps/hideouts
destroyed; and hundreds of hostages
rescued. In a two-week operation in
February (lasting from Feb 4 to Feb 14),

80 hostages were freed by the Nigerian
Army, with 37 bandits killed.

- Aerial bombardments of bandits’ camps
have been intensified in recent months. A
new Air Force Base – the 271 Nigerian
Air Force Detachment (271 NAF Det) –
was commissioned at Birinin Gwari in
Kaduna State in May 2019, to
complement the 207 Quick Response
Group (QRG) established in Gusau,
Zamfara State, in 2017.

West and North Central Nigeria.

? April 5- The Nigerian Police launched
‘Operation Puff Adder’, a multi-agency

Nigerian Armed Forces and the
Department of State Services (DSS),
tailored towards ridding the Kaduna –
Abuja Expressway, Kogi, Katsina, Niger
and Zamfara states of all forms of
crimes and criminality- kidnapping, armed
robbery, cattle rustling, amongst others.

‘Operation Puff Adder’ arrested three
notorious criminals involved in the kidnap
of Channels Television’s staff, Mr. Friday

Kaduna expressway and parts of other
North-West/North-Central states.

‘spiritual father’, Police detectives
attached to ‘Operation Puff Adder’,

locally fabricated pistols and a cache of
live ammunition were recovered from the

Chinese citizens who were earlier
kidnapped on 15th April, 2019 in Bobi,

Nigerian Air Force Detachment (271 NAF
Det) at Birinin Gwari in Kaduna State. The
Detachment was established to serve as
support Base and a blocking force for

SHARAN DAJI.

It is the constitutional duty and
responsibility of government to safeguard
lives and properties. The Buhari
administration remains committed to this,
and despite recent spikes in the spate of
crime and criminality, the evildoers will
be beaten, and badly, too. The ravening
clouds can never be victorious. Soon,
they shall no longer possess the sky.

TV/MoviesPastor Explains Why Christians Who Watch Game Of Thrones Will Go To Hell by ExAngel007(op): 6:37pm On May 11, 2019
With 865 deaths, 17 rapes and 144 scenes of naked people, Ghanaian Pastor explains why he thinks 'Christians who watch Game of Thrones will go to hell'

Ghanaian Pastor, Victor Eghan, has stated why he thinks Christians who watch Game of Thrones will go to Hell.

According to him, 'If you're so attached to Game of Thrones that you're getting angry with me, then who are you worshipping? GOD or GOT?

One letter makes a big difference. And that one letter change can make a big difference when you stand before GOD on that day '.

Dear Game of Thrones fans (who say they're Christians), please forgive me in advance. I'm not a fan of GOT.

Just watched a few episodes years ago. But I came across some statistics and facts that may interest you.

Interesting Stats:

*865 deaths

*17 rapes (including attempted ones)

*144 scenes of naked people (with 83.7% being women)

Interesting Facts:

*In 2016, HBO was in a legal battle with the porn website, PornHub, over the site's use of sexually explicit clips from GAME OF THRONES, which HBO states breaches their copyright of the content.

*According to data from PornHub, the site saw a 4% drop in traffic (that is, a drop of about 2.4 million viewers) during Game of Thrones' season 6 premiere
back in April. The site saw similar traffic dips over the next four weeks when new episodes aired, suggesting that people are, presumably, watching the show
instead of porn.

*There are a LOT of porn stars in Game Of Thrones.

*Jessica Jenson and Samantha Bentley, winner of the Adult Video News Award for Best Group Sex Scene, have both played prostitutes on the show. Australian amateur porn actress Aeryn Walker was also cast as
one of Craster's many wives. While Sibel Kekilli, who has played Shae also starred in adult films in the past.

Dear Christian and Game of Thrones fan, is this the kind of content you want to fill your mind with? What happened to Philippians 4:8? Is this the kind of things
you want your daughter or son to engage in? Rape, murder, and immorality?

If you're so attached to Game of Thrones that you're getting angry with me, then who are you worshipping? GOD or GOT?

One letter makes a big difference. And that one letter change can make a big difference when you stand before GOD on that day.

CrimeChilling Story Of 3 UNIABUJA Students Watched Their Friend Drown by ExAngel007(op): 5:18pm On May 10, 2019
Facebook user, Mystic Biu, has shared theshocking story of how three University of Abuja freshmen watched their friend, 17-year-old Emmanuel Aigbokhalode Balogun drown at the Dome Hotel pool because he was always doing ''shakara'' and all the girls in their school were flocking around him alone.

Read the chilling story below

TRUE LIFE STORY

We live in a very trying and perilous times. A very dear friends undergraduate's 17yr old son got drowned at the Dome hotel pool in abuja last weekend. He was in the company of his friends.

The friends didn't report to the hotel mgt what happened nor to the deceased's (Emmanuel Balogun) parents.

They went back to the school (Uni Abuja) hostel immediately after the incident.

On Monday a young girl from uni abuja called the mother of the deceased that they did not see Emmanuel her son in class. She went further to tell the parents it's like something has happened to Emma and ended the call.

The mother called back the line but it was switched off.

She notified her husband & they immediately placed a call to their sons number and it was off. They drove that Monday night to their sons hostel but met his absence.

They now got information that a party was thrown for fresh year students over the weekend at the Dome
hotel in town.

They set forth for the hotel. The hotel mgt told them there was a case of drowning in their hotel over the when'd & directed them to the police.

The police now led them to the mortuary, lo & behold it was their son. Yesterday morning, myself & the deceased uncle went to the police to see the CCTV
footage of what transpired @ the hotel.

What I saw and later heard yesterday was unbelievable. From the CCTV, we noticed the deceased entered the pool with 3 of his friends and around 3.33am he started struggling in the pool.

His friends where all watching him until he stopped struggling and drowned. They all left the pool immediately and one took his handset the other took his trouser and brought out the money inside the pocket
and wore his shoes.

They left the hotel around 4.18am according to the footage we saw. The police went to the school & effected the arrest of the trio and mgt of
the hotel.

At the DIG's office yesterday afternoon, I heard something that has being giving me cold shivers all through yesterday and right now. One of the boys said that he wanted to raise an alarm to save the boy but the other two boys asked him not to.

That the deceased is always doing shakara because his father his rich, he went further to say that the other one
said all the girls are always admiring the deceased so he should let him be joor. This are just mere 17/18yr old boys huh.

Watching the CCTV footage where the friends were watching him drown and collectively decided, cos there was a time they grouped together to discuss for about a minute & from the confession of one of them is not only traumatic for me but also disheartening. They watched their "Friend" die out of jealousy & envy ?.

According to them, it was the deceased that paid 2k each gate fee for them and also bought fish and juice
which they all drank. This are mere teenagers with that kind of heart.

My people, be extra careful for people you call your friends. According to the DIG, A lot of people are being murdered daily cos of envy from friends. No doubt,

There are good and wonderful friends but also, know ye, there are also friend- enemy everywhere. So be extra careful and prayerful cos the love of many has really waxed cold. ??. The young man was buried today amid tears ? according to the wishes of his parents but his wicked friends & hotel mgt are still in police custody at the force headquarters as we speak. May none of us bury any of our children or young ones in Jesus name. Amen.

Beware of jealous & Envious friends theyare more lethal and toxic than acid. huhhuhhuhhuh. Below ??is the picture
of the young man whose death would have being avoided. ??

CelebritiesWhat Naira Marley Tried To Say With His Song 'am I A Yahoo Boy' by ExAngel007(op): 3:01pm On May 10, 2019
A music video director has explained what controversial singer, Naira Marley was trying to say with his song 'Am I A Yahoo Boy?'.

https://www.tori.ng/userfiles/image/2019/may/10/TG.JPG

TG Omori

Naira Marley, an artiste taken in for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), tried to explain that he is not an internet fraudster with his latest video, his videographer has explained.

TG Omori, the 24-year-old who directed the video, made this known in a statement received by TheCable Lifestyle on Friday.

In his recently released ‘Am I a Yahoo Boy’ video, Naira Marley was seen bound with handcuffs in a police van.

The street-hop star was arrested on Friday morning.

Speaking on how he was approached for the job, Omori said: “I woke up to a DM from Naira Marley four days before the video shoot asking “AM I A YAHOO BOY?

Lol”. I replied with a laughing emoji and he asked for my WhatsApp contact. Then he sent the song asking for a video direction.

“Considering the controversy behind the song and
all, It wasn’t really so crazy to crack out an idea for
it because basically, all the song was talking about
is him trying to clear the air that he is not a
fraudster.”

TG Omori, who hails from Cross-River state, says
the video was shot in three days and he had to
improvise to get it done.

“I thought of getting a police truck but considering
the short notice I had to film this which was between three days, I was only left with an option of hiring a bullion van and brand it to look like a police armoured tank. I had to build a car wash set and tagged it ‘No Mannaz’ and we shot it on a Sunday.

“We shot the video in six hours featuring from Zlatan Ibile and special appearances from his friends and fans. The whole idea behind the video was to give a visual representation that my client is just trying to clear the air that he is not a fraudster.”

TG Omori, who says he is inspired by Tunde Kelani,
a filmmaker, graduated from Pencil Film Institute at
18, making him the youngest professional filmmaker
in Nigeria at the time.

Commenting on Pretty Mike’s allegation that some
of his colleagues offer video vixens roles for sex,
he said “video directors are humans like everybody
else and their individual sexual conduct depends on
them.

“Because one director is asking you for sex for
roles doesn’t mean all other directors do that. If I
was the one on that table, I will probably sue Pretty
Mike but thank God I have a different drive about
what I want to be known for”.

In December 2018, Trace Naija described TG Omori
as the future of music video directing in Nigeria.

https://alexis.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/5cd565ae6b018.jpg

She was cradling the body of her eight month old
son Nontawat Saingam. His head has been
critically injured in the incident. 61 year old
Sanan Sopapong, the truck driver, was waiting for
police at the scene.

Ms Wilaiwan told police that her son was in the
baby walker inside the fence of their house
where she was looking after him. She said she
was distracted by a phone call for a moment
when the baby walker slid and hit the gate and
pushed it open. Her son, and the baby walker,
rolled out onto the road into the path of the
oncoming truck.

Police are continuing their investigation.

PoliticsKano Assembly Clips Emir Sanusi’s Wings, Creates 4 New Emirates by ExAngel007(op): 5:46pm On May 08, 2019
Members of the Kano State House of Assembly today passed a bill for the creation of four additional first class Emirates. The additional first class Emirates include Rano, Gaya, Karaya and Bichi Emirates.

In a motion presented by the Majority Leader Baffa Babba, the House unanimously agreed that creation of more Emirates will assist in job creation, dispute, and community conflict resolutions among others.

The passage of this bill paves way for the decentralisation of the Kano Emirate council thereby decentralising the power of Emir of Kano,

Muhammad Sanusi II who is currently at loggerheads with the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje..

Although the state governor is yet to assent the bill, it is expected that the bill will be presented to him for approval.

CrimeSharia Court To Cut Of Hand And Leg Of 10, Stone 5 To Death In Bauchi by ExAngel007(op): 3:46pm On May 08, 2019
Six other inmates have also been condemned
to death, five are currently on life sentence,
while 188 are on various jail terms of two
years and above.

Suleiman T. Suleiman, the Controller of Prisons,
Bauchi State Command, has said that five persons
who were sentenced to death-by-stoning; and 10
others whose legs and hands are to be amputated
are awaiting the day of judgment.

Suleiman, who spoke in an interview with newsmen
in his office on Tuesday on the state of prison in
Bauchi, also lamented that these two sets of
convicts have been in jail for over 10 years with
action not taken on them

He said six other inmates have also been condemned to death, five are currently on life sentence, while 188 are on various jail terms of two years and above.

Suleiman lamented that the prison currently has 947 inmates at the 500-capacity Bauchi Prison.

He said: “The condemned convicts we have are mostly coming from Sharia Courts. These and other related cases like amputation of hand or leg have been in jail for over 10 years without knowing their fate.

“Their hands are not cut off, their legs are not cut off, they don’t know their fate.

“There are also those who are supposed to be stoned to death. I am worried.

“I feel touched that each time I go to any of the prisons to visit, they’ll be the first to confront me with questions about their case.

“I have written to the state governor, I have also written to the state Chief Judge to see that something is done about these people.

“They’re the only category of people that cannot be taken to court because they have already been convicted, but there’s no execution.”

The Prison Comptroller said that if the sentences could not be executed, their sentences could be commuted to prison terms.

“If this cannot also be done, they should be granted pardon and counselled to be of good behaviour and
released.

“I want the government to execute the law as it is and if they cannot do that, the governor has the power to give clemency to these convicts.”

The death penalty according to the United Nations as a gross human right violation.

Christianity EtcProphet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Shocked Prostitutes by ExAngel007(op): 2:39pm On May 08, 2019

The tireless general, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin has done it again. This time he transformed the lives of two former prostitutes spiritually and financially.

The General Overseer and founder, Mercy Television, Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry (C.M.D.M), Warri, Delta state along with partners of the ministry gave N4,300,000 million naira (N2,150,000 each) to Miss Edith Onoifo and Miss Joy Afowotake who were into prostitution to set up any business of their choice.

https://alexis.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/5cd2bcc44e395.jpg

The man of God located the former prostitutes through prophecy. Miss Edith Onoifo from Edo state was deceived to Moscow, Russia for a lucrative job unknown to her, was prostitution.

She started following the man of God through YouTube and she became a partner. With divine intervention, she escapes to Nigeria and God located her through prophecy at the mountain of grace and favour.

https://alexis.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/5cd2bce067a95.jpg

Miss Joy Afowotake from Warri, Delta state was disvirgined by a herbalist who hypnotized her and was making love to her at will. After some years she left him and met another herbalist who continues making love to her too. That was how she veered into prostitution. The power of God through Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin located her and her life changed.

They former prostitutes accepted Jesus as Lord and personal saviour, advises other prostitutes to desists from the trade and turn to God for He’s the only true God that will save them as prostitution is not the answer to poverty.

Controversial Ghanaian marriage Counsellor, Reverend George Lutterodt has made another claim that Jesus smiles at the mention of his name during sex.

https://www.ghpage.com/wp-content/uploads/Kumchacha-and-Counsellor-Lutterodt.jpg

While reacting to the assertion made by Prophet Kumchacha of leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, that it’s a sin for people having sex to scream the name Jesus because they will end in hell, the counselor simply said that Jesus rather smiles whenever he hears his name being mentioned when people are having sexual intercourse.

According to him, Kumchacha knows nothing about the topic that was why he passed such statement when asked to share his view on the topic.

EducationWe Delisted 76 Exam Centres, Says JAMB by ExAngel007(op): 1:26pm On May 04, 2019
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 76 computer-based test (CBT) centres over various infractions during the unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) which held between April 11 and April 18.

Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB registrar, made this known while speaking at the 23rd annual seminar of the Nigerian Academy of Education in Abuja.

He did not give details of the affected centres.

Oloyode added that the board has appointed a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to prosecute over 100 candidates placed in various police cells across the country for alleged examination malpractice.

He narrated how closed circuit television cameras exposed some of the candidates who cheated during the exam.

Oloyede described a form of malpractice caught on camera as “malpractices by substitution”, narrating how professional writers hid in toilets and later replaced the UTME candidates who pretended they went to the
toilet to ease themselves.

“Today, we have no fewer than 100 in police cells across the country who were caught for examination malpractices,” he said.

“I have appointed a senior advocate of Nigeria who is a former solicitor-general to help me oversee all these so that the suspects can be brought to book. My director of legal matters asked me, ‘what offences should we charge these people for; for multiple registration?’

“And I said, why can’t we go to the Examination
Malpractice Act? So, my problem has started by having to draft the charges, despite the fact that we have evidence against them.

“We see a lot. But we have problems. If I were to be punishing every member of staff of JAMB that is committing infractions, I will not focus on the assignment. I will be going from one disciplinary committee to the other and my attention will be diverted.”

Politics21 Injured As Boeing 737 Skids Into River On Landing In Florida (video) by ExAngel007(op): 1:15pm On May 04, 2019
A Boeing jetliner with 143 people aboard from the
US outpost at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, slid off a
runway into a shallow river in Jacksonville, Florida,
on Friday while attempting to land at a military
base there during a thunderstorm, injuring 21
people.

According to NDTV, there were no reports of
fatalities or critical injuries, with the Jacksonville
Sheriff's Office saying on Twitter that all 21 of the
injured were taken to a hospital where they were
listed in good condition.

The plane, a chartered Boeing 737-800 arrived from
Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba with 136
passengers and seven crew members, but it
crashed into the St Johns river at the end of the
runway at Naval Air Station Jacksonville at about
9:40 pm local time, a spokesman for the Florida air
base said.

"The plane was not submerged. Every person is
alive and accounted for," the sheriff's office said
on Twitter.

The sheriff's tweet was accompanied by two
photographs showing the plane, bearing the logo of
Miami Air International, resting in shallow water and
fully intact.

The head of Boeing used his first shareholder
meeting after the fleet of 737 MAX was grounded
to try to assure shareholders, airline passengers,
and the media that the plane is safe.

"No fatalities reported. We are all in this together,"
Curry said in a separate tweet.

A passenger on board the plane, attorney Cheryl
Bormann, told CNN in an interview that the flight,
which had been four hours late in departing, made
a "really hard landing" in Jacksonville amid thunder
and lightning.

"We came down, the plane literally hit the ground
and bounced. It was clear the pilot did not have
total control of the plane. It bounced again," she
said, adding that the experience was "terrifying."

Bormann said she hit her head on a plastic tray on
the seat in front of her as the plane veered
sideways and off the runway. "We were in the
water, we couldn't tell where we were, whether it
was a river or an ocean."

The military base is situated on the western bank
of the St Johns River about 8 miles south of
central Jacksonville, in the northeastern corner of
Florida about 350 miles north of Miami.

Bormann described emerging from the plane onto
the wing as oxygen masks deployed and smelling
the jet fuel that she said was apparently leaking
into the water.

Bormann, from Chicago, said that most of the
passengers were connected to the military and
helped each other out of their seats and onto a
wing, where they were assisted after some time
into a raft.

Miami Air International is a charter airline operating
a fleet of the Boeing 737-800, different from the
737 MAX 8 aircraft that has been groundedt
following two fatal crashes involving that plane.

A Boeing spokesman said that the company was
aware of the incident and was gathering
information.

RomanceHairdresser Commits Suicide Over Disagreements With Boyfriend In Lagos by ExAngel007(op): 9:44am On May 04, 2019
A 26-year-old hairdresser, Kenile Nwabuzor, has
reportedly committed suicide after her boyfriend identified as David, called off their two year relationship on April 11th.

Punch reports that David in an inteview, said he
met Kenile shortly after her mother's death and
that they had a rocky relationship as she felt
inferior to him because she was a secondary
school leaver.

On April 11th after they called off their
relationship, Kenile reportedly sent him a
text lamenting he had made life miserable for her
and that she would soon kill herself.

“She was my girlfriend and I loved her so
much. We started dating each other
about two years ago. She was not that
literate, but I told her it didn’t matter.
When we met, she was in distress. Her
mother just died then and she was living
alone. She said she could not live
without her mother. Her brothers are
based in Ghana, but they usually sent her
money.

“She told me she finished secondary
school, but I don’t think so. I really
wanted to help her improve on her
education. She easily got angry and if
she had a disagreement with someone,
she might not talk to that person again
for years. As our relationship continued, I
tried to correct her. I persuaded her to
be going to church and bought a Bible for
her. We usually had disagreements over
petty issues.

“If we had a misunderstanding, I could be
in her house for hours begging her and
she would not say anything. If I decided
to go, that would be another fight. At
times, the misunderstanding would last
for days.

Because of the nature of my job, I have
girls around me. She would be
complaining that I was going out with
them. I tried to tell her that she needed
to trust me. I also saw boys around her
because she was beautiful, yet I trusted
her.

Recently, she said I didn’t love her again.
She changed her phone’s password to
deny me access to her phone. She
accused me of sleeping with women. It
was true many ladies wanted me to ask
them out, but I ignored them” he said
David explained that four days before she killed
herslef, she had missed Nwabuzor’s calls while on
an assignment at an event. He said he got back
home late that day and returned her calls, but she
did not pick them. When he eventually got
through to her the next day, she started insulting
him and he ended the call.

“She sent me text messages, but I didn’t
reply. On Tuesday, I went to her house to
return the charger she lent me and when
I was about to leave, she returned all the
things I had bought for her. That night,
she sent a text message to me, saying
that I had stopped loving her since
December 2018 when we had fun at
different places. She said she was no
longer interested in the relationship. In
my reply, I told her she was free to find
her peace anywhere else. On Wednesday
morning, I thought about everything
again. I knew she was depressed and I
had been the person encouraging her. I
sent her another message, begging her.

Most times, she would be the one to say
she was not interested in the relationship,
yet she would be crying. I was always
the one saying sorry.

“That Thursday, she came to our house
for the first time and met with my
parents. That was the day my father
knew her as my girlfriend. She reported
me to him and said she was no longer
interested in the relationship. My father
sought my opinion and I said I didn’t have
any comment.

“She started crying. She called one of
her brothers and told him she was
coming to Ghana. My father is a
clergyman. He tried to counsel her. As
my father was talking to her, she was
crying. At a point, she stood up and left.
Afterwards, I left for my workplace.”

David said he later sent a text message to him,
saying “You want to kill me; I will help you kill
myself. Thank you for making my life a hell.”
He said immediately after he read the message,
he took a motorcycle and headed to her house.

“On getting there, I peeped from her
window and saw her body dangling on a
rope tied to the ceiling. I shouted and
barged into her room. Her neighbours
helped me loose the rope while I brought
her down. She was already heavy, but I
was not feeling the weight. I was not in
my right senses again. I took her on a
motorcycle to a nearby hospital. She was
referred to Randle General Hospital. A
doctor confirmed her dead on arrival. I
called her brother and relations. The
police arrested me and detained me for
two days. They said I should not have
brought her down,” he said
Kenile was buried on Saturday, April 13 which
was David’s 26th birthday.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police
Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said the
police had received a distress call from the
general hospital that one Kenile Nwabuzor was
brought in dead by her boyfriend.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that
the lady had earlier sent a text message
to her boyfriend that she would kill
herself. Her corpse was removed and
deposited in the Lagos Mainland Hospital
morgue.” Bala said

CrimeCheck Out The Warning Signs Of Money Scams You Should Know by ExAngel007(op): 3:34pm On May 03, 2019
Anybody can fall victim to an online scam. We all
lead busy lives and we are continually bombarded
with “approaches” from scammers – it only takes a
moment of inattention to fall into a trap, according
to www.thebalance.com.

How can you stay safe, when thieves are becoming
increasingly sophisticated and convincing? The best
thing to do is to pause before sending money and
investigate where it is really going. Knowing about
common warning signs of money scams can help
you spot trouble before it is too late.

If you see any of the red flags listed below,
proceed with extreme caution. They don’t
necessarily mean you are dealing with a scammer,
but it is worth slowing down before you part with
your money. Here are the common signs of money
scams.

Wiring money

If somebody asks you to wire money, be careful.

There is no way to reverse a wire transfer – once
the money leaves your account, it is gone, and you
can’t ask the bank to “undo” the transfer. Thieves
love wire transfers because the money is available
for withdrawal almost immediately (before
everybody figures out what they are up to).

There are a few legitimate situations where wire
transfers make sense, but they are a bad idea if
you are not sure who you are dealing with. Using
your credit card to send the wire only makes things
worse.

Unsolicited approaches for money

It is not uncommon to get an email promising vast
sums of money (or even a few bucks) for little or
no effort. Sometimes these messages look like they
were sent to you accidentally – and you have
somehow had the good luck to stumble into a
fantastic situation.

If something sounds too good to be true and it is
coming from somebody you don’t know, it is
almost certainly a scam. Why would that
imprisoned prince search you out and contact you?
If somebody has a great “business opportunity,”
why don’t they just do it themselves instead of
wasting time and money scouring the Internet for
more investors?

Selling for anything besides cash

If you are selling something that you have
advertised online, be wary of accepting anything
but cash as payment. Scammers have various ways
to cheat you out of money (when you’re supposed
to be the one collecting money).

For example, they would try the classic cashier’s
cheque scam or they would ask for your bank
account information under the pretext of sending
an electronic payment or wire transfer (then they
would use that information to get into your bank
account). If a buyer can’t show up in-person with
cash, there is probably a better buyer out there.

Handling payments for someone else

There is no legitimate reason for you to handle
payments for somebody else. If you are asked to
deposit money into your account and forward it to
somebody else, you are likely involved in a scam.

When you are looking for work and these “jobs”
come up, it is hard to pass up the opportunity, but
moving on is your best bet. At best, you are being
set up for a scam; at worst, you are involved with
something illegal (such as money laundering).

Threats and hyperbole

Scammers’ goal is to exploit your hopes and fears
until you hand over your cash. To take advantage
of your fears, they might tell you that you would go
to jail, lose your job, or somehow face humiliation
if you fail to make “required” payments (none of
which they can accomplish legally). If something
sounds all bad or all good, you’re not hearing the
truth.

Unsecured sites

Look for the lock (or “https” in the address bar)
when doing anything sensitive online. If you
provide personal or financial information to an
unsecure site, it can be stolen easily – in fact, it
probably is being stolen because you’re already at
an impostor’s site. Any reputable bank, credit union,
or online shopping site will require a secure
connection.

If your connection is not secure, you might be
caught in a so-called “man in the middle” attack, in
which your usernames and passwords are collected
for later use.

Emails that look not quite right

Sometimes you can find everything you need to
know in an email. If you notice bad spelling and
grammar, you might be dealing with an overseas
phishing scam (a type of fraud where a user’s
personal data, such as passwords and credit card
info, is stolen through an electronic communication
like email). It also helps to look closely at any links
(when you hover your mouse over them before
clicking). Do they go where you think they should
go?

How to handle online scams

If you see any of the warning signs above – but
you still want to move forward – how can you do
so safely? Get more information. Research the
person or business in question until you are 100 per
cent certain that you’re not getting ripped off. Just
remember that scammers can be very convincing
and very patient – they would talk with you for
hours (over many weeks or months) to make you
feel comfortable.

Talk about the situation with a friend or relative,
and look for similar stories online – you might be
surprised at what you find. Check message boards
in your community if it seems like a local thing, but
keep in mind that many internet money scams are
tried-and-true hustles, sometimes conducted from
far away (so you’re likely to find good information
with a general internet search).
