How the OSS works is that following the award of the scholarship - the beneficiaries chosen schools will be paid the tuition, after the tuition is paid - the rest of the funds will be transferred to a domiciliary account specified. That can now be used to sort out other things. However the person must provide a valid visa for that to happen (this is to prevent people from absconding once they have been paid their upkeep allowance). As for flight - AGIP themselves will book the flight for OSS awardees and hand them the ticket for the date of their choosing.

Finally - it is not a condition that you must come back upon completion of the program, you can apply for further studies or work or postgraduate visa as necessary. I hope this helps

Typically overseas application comes out at the end of the year, around November/December

What I am saying is that irrespective of what you applied for, you are considered for both Local and overseas categories. The best 5 are considered for overseas category, and the next best 5-10 are considered for local category.

The reason for this is that most people apply for the OSS, uploading foreign admission letters. However, when AGIP/Dragnet evaluate the results and find these people qualifying in the LSS score range, they tell those who do not have any LSS admission letter to upload theirs.
From now it should take about a week or two for successful candidates to be notified - you might not be contacted to upload anything if all your documents are in good order. The next set of emails should be a notification email - either from AGIP or from foreign Universities notifying you that they have shared your admission details with Dragnet/AGIP to verify your admission

What normally happens is that most people don't apply for LSS, however when they score in the LSS band, they're contacted to upload their local admission letters

This is not entirely true. Successful candidates are notified much earlier than unsuccessful candidates

Agip, unlike other companies, send success and regret mails to applicants simultaneously. This has been the trend for the past 4 years with exception of last year when the scholarship wasn't awarded. I advise we patiently wait till mid July, 2021 before been too anxious. And is very important we note that all applicants cannot get success mail. So, while we hope and believe God for the best, we should also have other plans should things not work out. All the very best to u all (including me).

yes. The had virtual interview yesterday.

Normally they select 5 oversea candidates and 5-10 local candidates depending on budget available. It could be that they select more based on the fact that they did not do the scholarship last year. For overseas category it has never been more than 5 candidates. Local has hovered between 5 and 10 candidates in the past

About waiting for feedback: I think it's better to wait a little more, at least till the end of June. Just so that you don't get tired of waiting. Personally, I just try to forget that I'm waiting for their call (even though curiosity won't allow me rest).

Concerning number of awardees: Pls, who has a verified info on how many awardees they select. I've been hearing 5 local and 5 overseas on some threads. However, some people on other threads say they select more than 5+5. Who else here thinks they select more than 5 people for each category?

PTDF scholarship is paid based on the official estimates by the Association of Commonwealth Universities

Well, it depends. Is this PhD or MSc? for MSc, the PTDF stipend is sufficient for just one person so for those going with spouse will need proof of funds for spouse as well as find a means to augment income (working arrangements etc)

For those who may want to calculate their chances, my observations during the interview has led me to this template (my observation);

1. Class of degree = 30marks.
first-class =30, 2'1 =24 etc

2. English, Math + best 3 Olevel grades = 30marks
A1=6marks, B2=5marks, B3=4marks etc

3. SOP + your oral Presentation = 25marks

4. Max 5 professional memberships = 10marks
each membership carries 2mrks....

5. Publications = 5marks
each pub = 1mark, I can't say for high impact factor pubs like Elsevier, Springer, Taylor etc

Total.............. = 100marks
NB: This is my observation!

This assertion I dont think is correct because Ramadan follows lunar month, while PTDF uses solar month. Lunar month is 11or 12 days shorter than a solar year. So next year's Ramadan for instance ends around 12 or 13th May 2021.

No relationship between them, although the usual pattern is that PTDF releases the list after Ramadan

I guess they have not contacted others, or they will contact others after acceptance/rejection of the initial candidates contacted

when did you submit the application? this could be the Total standard 90 day bug - where they send rejection mail automatically if the application si more than 90 days old ( in that case you have nothing to worry about)
